How to unlock the Chronicler achievement in Red Faction: Armageddon - Definitive Guide

You need to find and listen to 40 audio logs, they are the light blue hologron type objects that prompt you to Hold cn_X when near them. There are more than 40 in the game and in my video below, I walk you through 41 collectible audio logs. I would recommend saving after each item because as far as i'm aware you can't replay levels/chapters, so if you miss a group of the audio logs you will have to play the game again.

All the locations contained in the video are shown in chronological order, I hope this helps and most importantly THUMBS UP :-)

I can give a tip. When you're entering the Inferno GX first time you're getting 10 "Archivist Logs" so all you need to do is to find 30 more. I got 33 before and when I entered Inferno GX i got +10 Logs and achievement popped-up. :)

Also this achievement is glitched a little...on my 1st playthrough I collected 35 audio logs. I was missing logs 4, 12, 16, 20, 21, 24, 25, and 28, but by the time I got to log 10 on your video I unlocked the achievement(not showing up here yet because my 360 hasn't been online since I unlocked it). I'm not complaining because now I don't have to look for the others, just thought I'd pass the info along. Nice vid btw.

Logs you've already collected, definately do not count. You have to pick up individual logs.

I wish you'd say where they are as you go through the video. I don't remember where each part is :(. I only got 24/40 on my first playthrough. Thought they'd be a little more obvious than they were

Great job! You missed the very first one at the beginning of the game. Your number one is number 2. Thanx!

As useful as this guide was, it would have been better if you had given a description of where you were with the audio logs. I got a mixed up during the video and missed one. I got the Achievement however, so thank you.

You do NOT need to have all 40.. i started hunting this achievement 30% ingame, missed several logs earlier, i popped the cheevo at the last log in your video and it was my #36

As stated you need to find and listen to 40 audio logs, there are 45 all together. Now one great thing about this game, if you finish the game and start a new plus game (where you keep all weapon upgrades) you also keep the number of logs you have already listened to. Now you don't have to find new logs, just any log. So if you finished the game like me, I found 38 out of the 40 needed, I started a new plus game and after I found tthe first two audio logs the achievement popped. Hope this clears it up and helps!

NOTE: this may or may not have been patched. Some people are reporting that this did not work for them. I do know it worked for me. As I no longer have the game I cannot test, so your results may vary.

This is incorrect, I finished the game with 38 and started a new game plus. I've listend to 6 recordings of which only 1 was added to my tally, brining me up to 39.

I no longer have the game so I can't check, but I can tell you that when I started the new game plus I found the first two logs (which I had found on my first play through) and it gave me credit for them towards the achievement.

It didn't work for you, it has worked for others. I have made a notation in my solution.

This worked for me. I had 34 logs going into Insane playthrough and it unlocked after I found 6 logs in the beginning of the game. GTK I don't have to spend the rest of time searching.

Sorry, but this is wrong. It only counts the ones you didn't pick up on your first playthrough. I missed a few at the beginning.. those added to my total on the 2nd playthrough. I'm about midway through the game on a second playthrough and I'm at 38/40. I've been picking up a lot (that I remember picking up on my first playthrough) that have not added to the total.

Even weirder. I had 23/40 logs at first. After some playing through to the end, I suddenly had 38/40 logs. (I swear I did not find any logs after that!)
After looking better at some points I got the final two logs, popping the achievement.
Altogether, it's not the hardest collecting job I had in a game. They show up as small, flat boxes, peeking over all those bigger objects.

Having played this while online for the last couple of days (so the update is applied) i've also discovered this does not work. On my first playthrough i found 37 audio logs, and then played any i could find on my second playthrough.

It's my experience that you will need to locate and play 40 unique audio logs, and further to that there are are more than 45 logs, because i have #37 and #38 on my player data, plus 10 seperate identified logs. My achievement popped after playing the 40th Unique audio log.

Perhaps you should edit/change your solution, as people may feel a little mislead. I have no idea if this was patched, or will work offline, but as i said this is how my gamesave behaved, while i was connected to Xbox Live.

I will share with you the YouTube video I used. The audio logs are in the exact same place for the PS3 version. (The guy in the video is playing on the Xbox 360)

You have an in-game counter so you can see how many audio logs you have recovered.

Missable.

Audio Logs appear as an item with a green aura, easily distinguishable to the blue auras of ammo, the white aura of salvage, and the red auras of weapons. Fortunately, they can be obtained over multiple playthroughs, so if you obtain 35 Audio Logs in your first playthrough, you can find 5 of the last 6 in the next playthrough and still get the trophy. Also, at the end of the chapter Older Enemies, you will receive Archivist Log 01 through 10, all of which count towards the trophy. Therefore, you actually only have to find 30 Audio Logs to earn the trophy.

Here is a video guide for the Logs. Take note that this guide doesn't have every Log location, but it has enough to get the trophy.

A guide to all of the audio log locations can be found here.

Half way through level 17, you are given 10 logs which all appear at the bottom of your log entries, so you only really need to collect  30. There are 47 logs total, so there is a lot of room for error and you can replay levels to collect ones you have missed, so this achievement shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience.

There are a total of 46 audio log entries in the game.

• You will receive 10 story entries automatically, just complete the game to the end.
• that is, you need to find only 30 records out of 36 (green small boxes) that you will come across as you progress through the game, just be careful and try not to miss them.

In the first introductory playthrough, of course, I wandered around the locations, but my friend calmed me down, saying that I would still get the achievement as I progressed. However, I managed to collect only 27 entries + 10 plot ones.
In the second playthrough, in the first quarter of the game, I easily found the missing entries on my own.

Not a particularly difficult achievement, the audio recordings are in a visible place, at least most of them, but it’s still a bit difficult to collect them yourself without help.
