How to unlock the Honorary Mason achievement in Red Faction: Armageddon - Definitive Guide

You need to complete all the waves from 1-30 all the way through without losing all your lives. (You need each of the boxes up the top to light up)

Firstly you want to setup a game of Infestation Mode. Now set the difficulty to Casual and the level to Black Market as it is a close quarter map. So those aliens won't be able to shoot you from a very far range.

Now choose the lowest level Starting Wave you haven't completed.

I would recommend having the Shell upgrade. Everytime you get on low health simply just drop the shell down and melee everything that comes inside until your health is back up.

Your only danger in Infestation mode will be the Berserkers as they love to Suicide bomb you when they get low health. Best technique to kill them is to just use the shotgun and aim for the head as they run at you and you can possibly blow him up and all the aliens around him.

You will also come across the Monolith from time to time which buffs all the Aliens surrounding it to double health. Can be quite a pain for the Berserkers as they already have enough health so dispatch of the Monolith quickly

Waves 1-5, 11-15 and 21-25 are very fast and have bearly any aliens in them at all (Around 2 minutes each)

Only hard waves are 10, 20 and 30 as they are around 10 minutes long and have waves that are purely just 10 Berserkers.

Keep in mind that you have around 10+ lives so you can die, just not too much.

If you do manage to die too much and the level ends just simply go back to the menu and choose the level you failed and launch it again.

Little Extra Note: You don't have to do this in coop as i done by myself Waves 1-30 and only died 3 times. If you bring a friend it can bypass the time and make it 2x more fun.

Have fun and if you have any troubles post a message in the comment section below.

In the guide it mentions starting on the lowest wave you haven't completed. Does this mean if I made it through wave 19 and died completely on wave 20, I could start on wave 20 and still get the achievement once I complete wave 30?

You could do 1 wave per day if you want to. You do not have to do 1-30 in 1 go. You can do wave 30 then 29 then 28 etc

I know you said you can't die. But does that mean if you die on wave 6 (as an example) you'll have replay wave 6 and not die !?!?

Correct?

Don't see where i write that you can't die. You have around 10+ lives and you can die 9 times if you want. As long as you survive the wave you are ok.

I didn't mean you. I meant Zavistic, without dying. The first sentence of the guide?!?

the monolith things only appear after wave 20 and have 1 per wave after that but on casual the creatures still die fast

Yeah, this is so easy if you do it on casual. I had the extra benefit of doing this after my first campaign completion as well, so I went in with tons of upgrades and Mr Toots. That unicorn lays waste to everything.

I did most of it on my own. The lives seem to be shared out, for example if your on your own it will be 12 for you, if there are two of you its 6 each etc. Also, there are more enemies based on how many are in the squad, similar to how the enemies in Borderlands get tougher the more of you there are.

Pretty each anyway, as i said i did most of it on my won.

a slightly different solution... set the difficulty to casual.

I used shotgun until i unlocked the assault rifle. from then on use the assault rifle to kill all enemies accept the behemoths and the invisible laser aliens.

I found that the invisible aliens tend to spawn in front of you so i just melee'd them.

Use rockets on behemoths until they charge you then instead of shield, use impact this sends behemoths flying backwards usually killing a few enemies for you.

Also i found that if you dive using the button, after every kill, you won't need shield.

This is my first time providing a solution so I hope it helps guys

if you join a game where they do waves that are ahead of were you are (like if you did up to wave 3 and the hosts starts the game on wave 8) you can complete the missing waves and still get the acheivement.

Infestation is a horde mode that is co-op-able. Select Infestation mode from the Start Screen and you are given some options as to your character and emblem. You do NOT have to worry about which character you are or anything like that. Just select a map and you will be starting on Wave 1. Trophy will pop once you complete wave 30.

Can be done in offline Infestation.

Every Infestation map has 30 waves. Wave 1 is unlocked for each unlocked map by default, and when you complete a wave on a map it will unlock that wave as a starting wave. So if you completed waves 1 through 9 for instance, you would be able to start a game on wave 9 for that map. This means that you don't have to complete waves 1 through 30 in a single game, it can be over as many games as possible. You could complete waves 1 through 9, then join a game online and do waves 11 through 30 on the same map, then by completing wave 10 you would receive all three wave trophies simultaneously.

Infestation mode is a multiplayer co-op mode comparable to horde mode on Gears of War. You can play with up to 4 people online or even by yourself. To make this achievement easier, start a survive custom game and set the difficulty to casual and wait for four people to join and then start the game up. Each wave you survive is recorded so that if you give up or lose you can restart from that wave at any time and still unlock this achievement. The more waves you survive the better the weapons you get and the harder the enemies become. It's relatively easy to beat wave 30 because the weapons you're given on higher levels are insanely powerful

To make this even easier you can keep playing other maps to level your upgrade rings. All of the single player upgrades you have unlocked are carried over to this mode - they just need to be unlocked. I recommend you use the nano rifle throughout this mode as soon as you unlock it as it one hit kills most enemies. Also pick the shell nano suit power because this is very useful compared to the other powers.

If you need boosting partners, refer to this thread.

This achievement, like the two preceding it ( Soldier and Commando ), can be obtained by playing alone (4 players are optional) in the infection mode, you need to set “Offline” and defend 30 waves. I advise you to use the sphere.

For this achievement you will need 4 people, preferably a friend. We create a closed game, invite friends and set the newbie mode. We cost 30 waves and get the achievement.

On the way to this achievement you will unlock two more: Soldier and Commando
