How to unlock the Mega Kill Combo achievement in Renegade Ops - Definitive Guide

This is an easier solution for those who have the "COLD STRIKE" dlc. It won't require you to memorize any set path or the use of the nitro perk. (NOTE: The Nitro Perk will still help as always.)

Simply unlock and play dlc level 2 and make it to the area where drone turrets fall from the sky. These drones mark the area they will land in similar to that of a mortar strike.

When you first see this simply drive and shoot through the looped path destroying all drones and then quickly make your way to the main area.

By then you should have the multiplier in the high 30's; and shortly after easily above 50, netting you the achievement once the multiplier ends.

This is a small area to travel. If you don't get it on your first try, then most likely you'll nail it on your second. Good Luck, but you won't need it. It's that easy.

can confirm this being the easiest way I found, too.

Pulled a 57x Multiplier off yesterday whitout even trying, though you need the dlc of course...

It may be the easiest, but it did not pop for me when I went for it. Tried level 2 coldstrike and got to x51, finished the level and no achievement. It is definitely the easiest this way, however.

Got a x67 second time around and it popped when the timer ran out and the bonus points came up, so just let the time run out when you hit 50x and stay alive. I must have died last time.

Does this have to be done in Hardcore?

I used Mission 2 from the "Coldstrike Campaign" DLC, on hardcore difficulty using a fully-levelled Diz. You will have to play Mission 1 on hardcore first to access Mission 2. The second mission won't be accessible by simply completing Mission 1 on normal or easy.

Here's the upgrades I used for the Mission:

- Auto Repair (Defense)
- Auto Reload (Offense)
- Magazine Size Elite (Offense)
- Efficiency Elite (Tactical)

Hardcore is pretty much a must to nail this achievement, as I tried this same method on Normal difficulty and just could not keep the combo going no matter how hard I tried. Once past this radar dish, head down the slope and start to work on your combo. Drones will spawn and drop in from the sky and add to your combo once they are destroyed.

Don't worry too much about your health. There's always enough your can pick up from destroyed enemies to keep you going. Keep and use your Rocket Launcher you'll undoubtedly pick up earlier in the stage too if things get too tight. The Railgun and Flamer won't cut it for this part as you'll need a weapon that can devastate quickly.

Check out the video as I showcase how my combo run went. I've sped up the first part of the video and then slowed it back down where the combo begins.

This video is good! How I did it however was from the start of the level shoot enemies out from the screen and then I did not kill all the enemies on my way to the first main objective. After the first main objective I took the same path back and then there was also this big "juggernut" thing that I could kill out of screen giving me a lot of chain. Then moved on and since I did not kill all enemies the first time I took the same path I could easily maintain my chain. So I reached 57 long before the video start the chain were they got the 50 chain achievement.

I use Railgun, Auto Reload, Super Charged and Efficiency Elite EMP.

(The above setup I used for all the achievements in the game).

This isn't as hard as it might look when you finish your first missions on hardcore, the key is to go slow when taking out enemys and rush when traversing to another area.

I've read about several places to pull off this cheevo, being:

- During the mortar objective in mission 2
- Sam-sites in mission 3
- Start of Mission 6
- Coldstrike DLC mission 2(thx to Humble Maven)

My guide will show you how to get it done in mission 6 - The cauldron on hardcore(as stated in the comments, hardcore isnt necessary, though i can't confirm this first hand)

Your rampage starts at the very start of the mission, drive around the streets and up the ramp, but dont take down that very first buggy you encounter, pull him up the ramp and take down the 2 defense towers AND THEN the buggy.

To get the 10x multiplier up after leaving the first area:

You gotta get the combo meter up without even destroing something.

Try shooting the left tower without blowing it up in the first place, then shoot bullets at the right tower and the combo meter should come up

I ended up with a multiplier of exactly 50 after the section with the 3 smelters, so pulling up the buggy might be necessary or it was my fault because i left some enemies behind, don't know exactly.(btw, its possible to carry the multiplier over to get way more than 50x by being super quick)

Be sure to hurry between the first and the second section like there's no tomorrow and be sure to equip the nitro perk.

I commonly used my emp(played as Diz btw) to stun the rocket trucks and took them out asap, and be sure to circle around the approaching tanks.

Make use of the nitro in case you get burned, you can extinguish the flames easily this way.

With the smelters you can chill out and kill them stationary, they wont hit you when you're not in range, though you still can hit em.

Most of your success depends on your own approach of blowing up stuff, meaning i cant give you an absolute tactic of success, these are only tips i can give you, just keep trying, it isn't awfully hard.

I'll try to keep this updated and be sure to add information in the comments, helping the ta community.

Oh, and leave positive feedback pls:)

When you destroy the first tower in your video, it gives you a 2 kill streak and you leave the area with 10. I keep getting 9 when I leave and I can't figure where you're getting that initial extra kill from. I've gotten the 10 a couple times by accident but I don't know how. Any idea?

Should work out now, have fun

Thanks, worked great. I used the same upgrades and definitly Diz. Her EMP is indispensable here. Pay attention to have a x2 Multiplier before the first 2 towers, otherwise you will be missing this 2 Kills

Problem here is that the building does not open after you complete the first mission. It opens up too late.

I have found its possible to get this on a large number of levels surprisingly however Level 2's 'Destroy the Mortars' objective is your best bet.

Make sure your accuracy is on top form and don't stop shooting! The trick is to link up those areas between enemies by moving quick - remember that you weapons have range so you can already be moving while finishing an enemy off. If your quick you can keep it going over short distances.

Hardcore is a must for this one since Normal damage streaks will automatically force their way down no matter how hard you try to keep them alive.

You will not get any streaks while playing on Easy. You must be playing on Medium/Hard.

Glitched: Some people got this without a 50x damage streak. This trophy popped for me directly after I got The Daily Grind trophy for hitting level 45. I didn't have much of a kill streak going, perhaps it was a three kill streak... Not sure what the specifics are to reproduce the glitch, but for the record I was playing Single Player on Medium with patch 1.01 in place. Many other people have also reported they are getting this trophy directly after level 45, so chances are you will too (if they patch it, you can just play without the patch for this trophy).

To unlock this trophy the proper way: you should be shooting multiple enemies without much of a gap to increase the streak counter, and keep the continuous-damage bar from dissipating. You can see the counter streak bar and number in the bottom right corner of the screen. There aren't enough enemies in the earlier stages, so you will have to wait till the later missions to even try for this.

You can get it at the maximum difficulty level in the second level, with the appearance of the first enemy you gain a multiplier, the main thing is to start shooting at the next one before the combo bar disappears. But there are suspicions that the achievement is cumulative and counts the total number of combos in the game.
