How to unlock the Big Shot achievement in Resonance of Fate - Definitive Guide

Do 2,000 damage in a single attack.

It is first possible to do this in chapter 5 against the Yeti boss as it is the first enemy with a main body of over 2,000 HP. First fill his HP bar with scratch damage, incendiary bullets and molotovs work good for this - you need to set him on fire. Then have another character attack, leaping works good. And boom, you've beaten the boss and gotten this nifty achievement too!

The alternative is to find some other high HP enemies and scratch them up, then do direct damage. The problem is that high HP enemies recover from scratch way too fast. So you will need to hit them with a status ailment that deals damage so they don't recover.

Yeti worked for me too. Just fill his bar with scratch damage and then shoot him with the handgun. Ding! :)

You'll have to put mind, spirit, and body into hit this hard. Do 2,000 damage in a single attack.

DL CyberSkull has a good guide. The end of Chapter where you fight the Yeti Boss in Silver Canyon. Here is what I did to make this a fast fight and get the achievement.

- Have Vashyron equipped with the Grenade Box and have the molotov cocktail set as your weapon. Use a Hero Action and run strait at the Yeti Boss jumping over him while trying to ignite him on fire. You will land behind him causing him to turn around.

Then with either Zephyr or Leanne, who ever you have your scratch weapon equipped to. Make sure you have Magazine Case and have your incendiary rounds equipped. In Hero Action run towards the Yeti Boss and you will have a clear shot at his open body, ( his back). Keep charging your hit gauge until your close to the Yeti, fire and it fill up his health bar with scratch damage and then jump over him continuing to fire.

Then with the character you have left, have your pistol out and use a Hero Action running straight for the Yeti's back shooting as soon you get that first charge.

I hope this helps as well as the guides above!

i found the Yeti variant to be a bit challenging, but i got my achievement in Chapter 6, when fighting the half a dozen Silver Jelly in Level 9 (its the blinking danger zone near the circular hexes).
those things have 2500 HP and no armour or anything regeneration-boosting on them, so just two jumps back and forth (given you boosted your SMG enough) with my scratcher did the trick.

anyway, this is an achievement that you really don't have to go out of your way to get. in the end game, you'll easily do 20k damage and more.

I was able to get this achievement on Chapter 3.

After grinding out around the Forest of Idols to get the 4-terminal link achievement my characters were already in the low-mid 20's for level.

There is a mini-boss called Dolled-Up Dwellest that becomes available chapter 3 on Level 6 near Lucia. Get him up to full scratch and set him on fire with a molotov cocktail to keep him from regenerating.

He's level 48 so save at the abandoned power station in Lucia before you fight!

First, let me clarify, the trophy is for inflicting more than 2,000 damage not in one attack, but in one blow. The first opportunity to get a trophy appears in Episode 6 from the Boss. The principle is this:

- we cause damage to Scratch and knock down the armor;

- We deal damage to Scratch until the boss’s health scale is completely filled with blue;

- select a fighter with Direct damage and get a trophy.
