How to unlock the The Iron Fist achievement in Resonance of Fate - Definitive Guide

The ‘Iron Fist’ achievement is for defeating 30 enemies with barehanded attacks. This achievement isn’t really very difficult, but it can be somewhat annoying (as mentioned by some commenters), so while the above solutions are perfectly adequate to get it I thought I would write up the improvements to the existing solutions which made the process for me more hassle-free and (more importantly) faster.

In order to do this achievement efficiently you want to make sure you have a few things set up first. You want to have connected enough terminal effects to the Arena, specifically the Charge Speed Increase (from level 5), and Other Terminal Effects x2 (lfrom level 6). This will help your barehanded attacks to charge faster making it easier to get them off or giving you more chances within a turn even if you get interrupted. Also you want to have a machinegun with enough scopes attached to be able to fire it off at level 2 or 3 charge several times per turn, and finally you want to have a good supply of Incendiary Rounds, minimum 50 or so but 100 or more would be better since you will waste time If you run out before you are done and have to return to the city to craft more.

The secret to making this go quickly is to fight melee opponents (less interruptions due to no range attacks) and to set enemies on fire (to suppress scratch damage regeneration allowing for guaranteed one-hit kills). The best level to do this on is Rank 3 of the arena, which features three low level gremlin type enemies (though in the arena they are called Brownies). Set up one character with a machinegun and the magazine case (set to incendiary rounds). Your other two characters are going to be barehanded and both can get kills.

On first turn, hero run through the arena with your gunner, hitting each enemy with a lvl 1-3 attack, and hopefully setting them on fire. The strength of the attack is not very important as fire will fill their HP gauge with scratch damage anyways, but I found that fire will only be effective about 50% of the time so you may need to hit a single enemy multiple times to set them on fire. Keep an eye on the enemy and as soon as you set them on fire (you will see the icon by their health bar in top left), change to a new target. If you are good you can get about 6-7 shots off in one action, which is usually enough to set all three enemies on fire. If all enemies are on fire cancel your hero action as at that point you are just wasting the on-fire timers for the enemies.

Next you run up to each of the enemies with your barehanded guys and hit them with an attack. If they are on fire it should be a one-shot kill. If you take too long (usually you have to waste a turn closing to the location of the enemies), some of the enemies might stop being on fire, just reapply fire status as needed with the MG user. You can save some time if you try and keep all your characters somewhat clumped together, as walking is very slow and if the enemies are spread out you will waste extra time walking all over the arena (and have to reapply fire more often). The melee enemies on this level will interrupt you much less, and the overall process should take only two or three rounds if you are efficient (you really just need to land 3 barehanded attacks on alighted enemies). Repeat this battle ten times and you are done, done this way it should take 15-20 minutes at most.

Remember that at any time you can check your progress by looking on the records board in the arena to see your total number of Barehanded kills.

Good solution - the incendiary ammo does help here. I also learned that incendiary ammo is otherwise useless in this game. Got it done in 12 minutes with this method. I also did it after I had the NP.05 golden machine gun...which speeds things up.

You must defeat 30 enemies with no weapon equipped.

Do this against low level mobs. Equip MG's and nothing else. Fill the scratch damage and pound away when barehanded. The arena seems to be a popular place to do this, but I did it in the Power Plant. You need 30 kills.

PROTIP: Vashyron has the strongest and quickest charging barehanded attack. Abuse it!

Defeating 30 enemies with no weapon equipped is easier than it sounds.

Vashyron has the quickest and strongest charging barehanded attack as 'burnthelamb' has stated, so we will be using him to accomplish this.

The place best suited to get this quickly is the Arena. Simply play the First fight 10 times (3 enemies on the first fight if ranked up to 10) Start off by setting a hero action course straight through middle with whoever has the machine gun. As these enemies are under lv 10 you should be able to fill up all their health bars with scratch damage in one action. Secondly use your character who is doing nothing as a decoy for enemies to shoot at. The reason for this being is every time i tried killing them with Vashyron an enemy would 90% interrupt my attack by shooting me. So we want them to focus there attention on someone else first.

A good majority of the time too you won't be able to kill them with one melee hit cause you do so little damage and their bar regenerates. In my case i usually had a few turns just getting the attack itself to hit, half the time you'll knock off the machine-gunners shields before you can kill them.

Just remember to keep filling up the health with scratch damage so you can kill them one hit if your close enough, relatively simple achievement. Repeat the battle 10 times and as the last enemy drops Iron Fist should unlock.

PS: I used these 10 battles also for smackdowns and bonus shots with the machine gunner, a you need 100 for those too.

Rank 3 is better, no chumps with guns. You'd have known about Rank 3 if you had finished DAII : \

Most information that is needed has already been said, but one thing that seems to have been forgotten is the fact that you can't melee attack during a Hero Action; it just has to be a normal A button attack. This is what got me at first, as I was so used to using Hero Actions beforehand. Do it on Round 3 of the Arena, as there are no annoying enemies who use guns.

We go to the character equipment menu, leave only one character with a weapon, go to the arena and start the first battle. We deal damage to Scratch. We make an attack with unarmed characters and so on 30 times.
