How to unlock the For Science achievement in Ring of Pain - Definitive Guide

Once you find the spell card to turn a monster into a frog, hold on to it. Find a companions room and use said card on the frog. Does nothing to the frog but snags you an achievement.

Did this change in a recent update? I got the hex spell and tried on multiple different frogs and all it shows is that they resist and no achievement pop
