It's worth noting it appears the game is modestly forgiving in that a scrounger can die, just not at your hands. So if it blows up from a detonation or gets eaten, that apparently will still allow the achievement to trigger as I had that happen twice in a run, and it still clicked for me on an Ox/Underwear run. Would like some confirmation for this if anyone else experiences it, but I believe I witnessed it happen as I had a "Reveal All" artifact on the board to watch a scrounger die way far away.

I can confirm that scroungers can die from the owl's magic beam attack on dark ending and the achievement will still pop.

The easiest method for this achievement and the one I used.
For this method, use the selection candle set to Brute item set only. This will allow you maximum chance to obtain the item mentioned above in the spoiler. Try to get this item early on because utilizing it even with grey rarity items will quickly lead to massive stat numbers and allow you to advance without worrying about healing and stats from scroungers.
Don't forget you can also quit out and re-enter the game to reset each dungeon one time (unless you are able to handle the Time Weaver) if you make a mistake. You will easily be able to kill Owl in reprieve and dark ending using this method.
If you want an even easier boost. Do not combine this achievement with "All Natural" and you will have much more stats for the run, but they can easily be combined. If interested, see my guide for "All Natural".
