This achievement will unlock when you buy the first 4 Hydro Jets, because if like me you buy the first 3 then buy a higher indexed one it will not unlock even though you have in fact bought 4. Buying the following Jets will unlock this;

- Stingray
- Photon
- Striker
- Fireball

Thanks for clearing that up. It's another achievement with a bad description. I was following the game's walkthrough and wondered why it hadn't unlocked, thought it might be glitched, but it's the description of the cheevo that's wrong, Vector Unit's fault.

So for the 8 jetbikes achievement you'll need to buy the first 8 in order, I guess.

Do they have to be the base models without any upgrades?

All you need to do is buy them, so yes the base models would be enough.

But it's the fact you have bought them that unlocked the achievement.

From the main menu, select the name of your hydro jet in the top left (i.e Stingray) and press . This brings you to the garage. You will need to buy an additional 3 hydro jets on top of the one you bought for "My First Hydro Jet."

For the sake of ease, save this til after you have the Manta and have it fully upgraded. This way you can funnel all your winnings to getting through the events and 3 starring them instead of constantly upgrading bad/mediocre hydro jets over time.
