How to unlock the Officer's Club achievement in RISK - Definitive Guide

Quite simply, you will not be able to boost this achievement as the matchmaking system is incredibly broken.

Your best bet is to use intellect to your advantage. By intellect, I mean that you're going to want to win games by being sly and getting your enemies to attack each other because of one crucial idea: M.A.D. -- Mutually Assured Destruction. Have your computer handy and Xbox.com and send out messages to all your enemies as soon as the session starts.

You're going to want to form secret treaties with anyone who is willing to respond to your messages. The idea here is that you want your enemies to attack each other and not attack you. By them attacking each other, they're going to weaken their troops and help prevent large barrages of troops. Use logic such as "We need to team up on "Blue" player because they will eliminate both of us if we don't team up." Use the fear of being eliminated against them and be a tough dealer. Turn the other players against each other and keep them from attacking you. Under no circumstances should you ever reveal to any player that you're dealing behind their back. Make them believe they're the only player you are associating with out of the goodness of your own hearts.

The only way you should attack anyone is if you don't have a confirmed alliance with you or if you need a territory card (more on that in a minute!) -- if you're going to attack an ally for a territory card, message them afterwards saying "sorry, I just needed a card." Be willing to do the same for them and go out of your way to help them get their card as well to gain their trust.

As a rule of thumb, start your first message off by stating your color and saying what their color is. It may seem redundant and pointless, but I actually got ganged up on as a result of drunkingly giving the command to attack a player to the player which was slated for being attacked. They figured out what I was doing and the shtick was up. Don't make the same mistake I did... Be cunning and sly if needed but don't overdo it as you may just get ganged up on like I did.

Also, you have the choice of when you want to turn on your opponents, if you want to at all. There have been players I have betrayed when they had 9 cards and one territory -- they weren't happy but oh well, it got me the W. Other players I never betrayed because they were willing to be helpful and help me. It's all up to you how loyal you want to be towards other players.

This is the second achievement in RISK multiplayer league play. You must get at least 60+ points in the Colonel's League and play all 6 games to obtain this achievement and advance to the Major's League.

If you score less than 40 points, you will get returned to the Captain's League as well, so avoid scoring too low in 6 games!

Scoring: 1st place=20 points, 2nd place=5 points, eliminating a player=5 points, for a max of 40 points with a win and complete eliminations.

If you are trying to boost this, then that will usually go much faster, IF you can find the other person in a lobby. I recommend following these tips to both find each other, and find a game in general if you have trouble with it: (Credit to Dr Latour for the boosting tips ideas!)
Trouble finding games or boosting?

Playing against human players can be boring, frustrating, and EXTREMELY BORING if you have the slow variety or the "wait until you quit" variety. I watched one game I was playing hoping to get credit for, where the remaining 3 players each built armies over 100 troops.. and the game took about 3 hours. That sealed the deal once I found this trick. I recommend only playing against real people if you don't need the win and want to just have fun--I chatted with some people for 2 games in a row, had a lot of fun, won one of the games. There are some fun people playing this game! clap
If you must play against humans, here are some tips:

Playing against AI players is really quite easy if you have some basic strategies on how to win. Figure on each game taking at least 1 hour though, with some much less, some more.
To win against the AI I've included a number of tips from my experience:

Fun website with statistics about the dice that I found useful!

Basically, defender has the advantage up to 5 vs 5, then attacker has the advantage with 6 vs. 6 and up. And other stats.

I'm quite sure you don't have to be in the same league, but matchmaking is really bad sometimes also
