How to unlock the Keys Streaker achievement in Rock Band 3 - Definitive Guide

The best song I have found for this is "Antibodies" by Poni Hoax. It has over 350 notes on Easy, and no chords. Just make sure to hit all the notes in the song without over-hitting.

If you don't like playing on easy, you can play this song on medium. It has over 500 notes there and tons of chords.

I just cannot seem to nail the funk rhythms in this horrible crap song. Is there any way to see how many notes are in each song's keys chart so I can pick another one that has enough to get the streak?

I FC'd Anitbodies on easy Pro Keys first, and it didn't unlock. Had to do regular keys.

Can confirm 389 notes on easy. I preferred to seperate my hands out a bit whilst playing - helped drastically (green to yellow one hand, blue and orange the other)

The only way to find out how many notes are in a song is to hit every one of them and look at your streak on the results screen.

I've noticed that the easier keys songs don't have many notes at all, so if you're having trouble with this song, your best bet is to try harder songs (5 dots or devil horns) on easy. There's bound to be another with 350 notes.

If you just don't have a great handle on the keyboard yet, this is the alternative method I used:

Unlock the ability to play keyboard sections on guitar by completing the "Guitar Immortal Challenge". Once this is done, "Keys" will now be a play option from guitar.

Using the guitar, select a song you believe you can complete a 350 note streak on. I played through the Keys section of "Bohemian Rhapsody" on medium and got 100%. I found the song easy due to its steady tempo and my familiarity with it.

Once you've completed your song, return to the main menu and switch over to the Keyboard controller. Then play through a keyboard section of any song. Once you complete the song, the achievement will unlock, regardless of how well you did.

Notes: You will not be able to play the "350 Note Streak" Goal through the Keyboards Goals menu. It gives you a "wrong instrument" message.

The achievement will unlock even if you turn off your console after you 350 note streak (using guitar) and then play a keyboard song later.

***NOTE: You must complete the Guitar Immortal Challenge in order to unlock the ability to play keys using guitar. The challenge requires you to 5 star on medium or 3 star on anything above medium 50 guitar songs from ROCK BAND 3.***

Cold as Ice by Foreigner is 368 notes long on medium and it is really easy to FC using a guitar. Then play any song on keys using the keyboard to unlock the achievement.

@Breadstone that's because you cannot unlock achievements for keys using the guitar.

@Digger ReZ Playing keys on guitar is like playing the guitar on rock band. Just hold the colored button on the guitar as shown on the screen, and strum when it hits the board.

@Breadstone Yeah you can FC with the guitar but you need to play any song (don't have to FC) using the keyboard in order for it to unlock officially unlock .

was gonna give this a negative vote until I saw the last comment, I've FC'd a few songs on guitar(keys) just randomly playing keys on guitar for fun and didnt get it, but I spose i'll wait till I try the actual keyboard before I go voting on solutions I haven't tried XD

I hate the fact that I would have to invest a ridiculous amount of money into the game just to unlock these stupid achievements. Not everyone has $300 bucks to shell out for a "pro" guitar, a keyboard, drum set, etc. It's ridiculous.

If you dislike Antibodies or just can't get the hang of the funky rhythm, "Du Hast" by Rammstein has 434 notes on medium.

Mostly chords, but if they change, it's usually after a sustain, so you can see it comming and adjust your hands.

A really easy song to get the cheevo is Blue Monday by New Order, it came free from Gamestop RB3 pre-order.
I played Keys on medium(with the keyboard) didn't FC it, but it has so many notes I still managed to reach a 350 note streak.

All you need is a 350 streak of keys it can be done on the keyboard or a guitar controller

To do it on a guitar you have to press start>then options>then select all instruments and it will let you play keys on guitar
(if you have guitar immortal challenge done lets you play keys without putting AI on doesnt affect at all did the 25 songs on all 3 ways)

**If you do this on guitar you have to pull out the keyboard and just finish a song regardless diffculty or song **

I found the easiest songs to do are queen songs (bohemian rhapsody or if you bought any DLC i personally got it off somebody to love) they are easy as they follow on keys these 2 patterns
a chord then 3 or 4 notes then another chord and 3 or 4 more notes and repeated
a chord then one note then a chord and so on

also no fail can be on
hope this helps its how i got it

FORGOT TO MENTION* if you are playing on pro keys it will not net you the achievement and since it has to be on normal it can only be done on it to

I first unlocked the ability to play Keyboards using the Guitar through the Guitar Immortal Challenge.

Once this was done I played "Imagine" - John Lennon on Keys (Expert) using the guitar. The song should have a total of about 440 notes or so if you 100% it. I suggest this song if you feel it is boring playing medium or easy on some other song.

Once i played through this i got 100% and a 440 or so note streak. I exited the song switched over to my keyboard controller and played "Need You Tonight" which is short and simple. With that song complete - Achievement Unlocked.

I have gotten a couple of messages suggesting I create a solution from the comment I wrote on Ham Salad's solution.

His suggestion is to play "Antibodies" by Poni Hoax. This is an extension of that.

Head to career mode and find the key's streak goal. You can choose to beat the goal straight from this menu. When done this way, the HUD displays a streak counter directly below the score in the upper right corner.

For some odd reason the 350 streak won't let you pick medium on Antibodies for some reason... so pick the 100 streak and play medium on Antibodies. Piece of cake (took me around 6 tries). I used the keyboard peripheral; I'm not sure if the guitar would be easier or harder.

I highly recommend turning on breakneck speed so that you can tell exactly when you're supposed to hit notes. This is particularly useful for hard/expert players from other instruments (I prefer drumming).

Last pro-tip: you don't have to continuously hold down a chord to keep your combo. I streaked the first 533 notes... so if you make a mistake relatively early (within about 180 notes) you can likely still get the achievement (however, I kept restarting cause I wasn't sure).

Good luck and happy achieving =).

I got this on good vibrations by the beach boys on hard. But I have piano experience so this is easier for me. It's mostly cords, but with 5 notes, it easy. It was easier then anything else for me. 370 total notes

A recent DLC in Rock Band Network is "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eiffel 65; it has a constantly repeated pattern that's pretty easy to get once you're used to it. This can easily get you 350 notes (can also get you the 500 note streak goal if you play it on expert; on expert there are exactly 707 notes in the normal keys part.)

This can ONLY be done on STANDARD KEYS (a.k.a. 5 button highway) by playing the keys on your keyboard from C to G. If you use the official MadCatz keyboard, these keys have a small oval shaped color mark above them (i.e. C = green, D = red, E = yellow, F = blue, G = orange).

For this particular solution, we'll assume that you have the following:

- The official MadCatz keyboard for Rock Band 3 (OR any keyboard with MIDI out and Rock Band 3 Midi PRO-Adapter for Xbox 360).
- A standard 5 button guitar controller
- The GUITAR IMMORTAL goal completed (details below)
- The desire to want this achievement so much that you'll need to play a song using your guitar controller (to get the streak) by selecting KEYS, but then need to switch to your keyboard to play any song (also selecting KEYS) to unlock the achievement.

Using the suggestions from other solutions, I started out on a standard 5-button guitar controller by choosing the "KEYS" option.

NOTE: The KEYS option only appears after unlocking the Guitar Immortal goal (see below for details).

GUITAR IMMORTAL
"Earn 5* on any 50 songs in Rock Band 3 on Medium Guitar (or earn 3* on a higher difficulty)"

CAREER -> MY GOALS -> GUITAR -> MEDIUM SONG PROGRESS -> GUITAR IMMORTAL

If you have NOT done this goal, you must go and complete this goal first. Press the green fret button to play the goal (filters songs to only those on the Rock Band 3 disc).

If you HAVE unlocked the Guitar Immortal goal, then you can proceed on to the solution...

NOTE: While using the guitar controller, you CANNOT use the career goals screen to play this goal.

From the main menu, choose:
PLAY NOW -> QUICKPLAY -> CHOOSE SONGS

Press the "< Back" button your guitar controller to bring up the OPTIONS and FILTERS.

Under FILTERS, select KEYS SUPPORT and choose YES.

Now you will only see songs with a keyboard part. This is a good idea when you have hundreds of legacy DLC (pre-RB3) that don't include the added Rock Band 3 features (e.g. keyboard).

I found medium keys on "Make Some Noise" by Beastie Boys the easiest (especially for someone who plays medium/hard guitar).

When the song finished, I verified that I had at least a 350 note streak. I actually had a 360 note streak with 100% notes hit. Not much room for error there...

Anyway, I switched over to the keyboard controller and played a different (short) song with a 51 note streak (easy keys) and... ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED!

Free Bird on Easy Keys. There are a ton of notes to play. I got this achievement and I wasn't even gunning for it. You shouldn't have any problem as long as you can 5 star songs on Easy.

This can be done in any difficulty. Just make sure that the song you're choosing has at least 350 notes on the difficulty you're playing. If you miss a note or "overstrum", you'll lose the streak and have to start from 0 again.

I recommend playing "Smoke on the Water" on Easy. If you keep a streak from the start until at least right before the Keyboard solo, you'll get the 350 notes. Just finish the song to get the trophy.

See the note on Keys Apprentice

This must be done on the keyboard controller - it does not work playing keyboard on guitar. Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting contains more than enough notes on Easy to clear the goal with room to spare. As with Bass Streaker, you may be able to spread this out over multiple songs.
