How to unlock the You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet achievement in Rock Band 3 - Definitive Guide

Need to do this SOLO?

This is very easily done on The Kill (DLC) on Expert Guitar. Get the first three energy phrases, which completely fills the energy meter, then activate when you see next phrase coming. If you overlap every phrase, you can stay in Overdrive for about two minutes.

Ah yes, this was the song I was trying to think of that everybody used for the 60 second OD in RB2. I figured if I could remember what song it was the new Bonus OD in solo mode would make it do-able. THANKS!

Second the "Handlebars" song by the Flobots - not only is it easy, it's a great song... just got it on the first go playing Bass on Hard.

I think I got it on "The Kill" on accident on Hard Guitar. I always wondered how I'd get this by myself and it popped without even thinking about it.

Hee, it worked! I even kinda messed it up (triggered the first time too late) and still got enough mileage for even the 90-second goal.

During a very drunken session last night I managed to get this with David Bowie's 'Moonage Daydream' DLC on Medium guitar, solo. Just saved up a full bar of overdrive and let rip, the overdrive phrases kept on coming.

In other news, "I'm an alligator" ;-)

Just got this without trying with me on medium guitar and the GF on easy bass. We missed zero or one note each at the most. Red hot chilli peppers California song? Not californication. Our score was like 250,000 so the song is long with tons of white notes. The theme song from sons of anarchy.

Solo on Medium “Are you gonna be my girl.” Just play it a couple time’s to find the timing to use the Overdrives.

One song that you get get this on (with guitar) on easy difficulty is "We Are the Champions" by Queen, if you've imported the Lego Rock Band songs. There is a section in the middle with a lot of sustained overdrive notes, just whammy the hell out of them. I was able to get a 62 second streak without realizing it. If you don't get it the first time just keep experimenting.

I was in overdrive for almost the whole song, it seemed like. The bass player didn't have to finally deploy his overdrive until the song was almost over. Excellent choice. Do-able with one person, almost impossible to miss with two people coordinating.

The Key to this is how slow the Overdrive bar decreases. I recommend Epic by Faith No More if you have the Rock Band 1 songs Exported. There are lots of Energy sections and the bar decreases very slowly. I got this on that song on Medium Guitar.

Thank you to Super Harold for the following information that greatly improves this solution. I am including the info he left as a comment word for word in the solution to improve the solution for everyone and make sure they see this info, so credit the following to him:

This solution DOES actually work and is easy! It is, however, missing a crucial bit of information – where in the song should you go into overdrive?

I assumed (as I’m sure many of you did) that it was before the solo, as there are lots of glowing note phrases there. However, this assumption is false, as the maximum you can get there (after wasting hours of my life) is 58 seconds.

To confirm, here is how (and where) to do it:
Song: Faith No More – Epic
Instrument: Guitar
Difficulty: Medium
Solution:
- Build up your energy meter so that it is full when the solo begins.
- When you are about 75% of the way through the solo, go into overdrive.
- Be sure to use your whammy bar on the long glowing notes.

More Details:
You need to go into overdrive before you can see the last set of glowing notes that appear in the solo. The amount of time you leave here is the key difference between success and failure. Do it too early and you’ll easily know you haven’t made it, as you will see a block of glowing notes, but your energy will run out before you can nail them all. Do it too late and you’ll be on about 55+ seconds. Use a stopwatch to time if you are going into overdrive at the right time.

Conclusion:
It is pretty close (it isn’t possible to get much more than 60 seconds) so you might need a couple of tries before you nail it, but once you know what you are looking for, it’s a doddle.

Couldn't we just go by the game's solo on-screen completion percentage count?

Spot on my friend. The only thing I would add to make it easier is to deploy overdrive at exactly 68%. It took me a few tries at 74% I would get between 57-59 secs, only when I deployed a few notes sooner I was able to hit 60 secs. Thx for the solution.

A perfect solution, but it's better to deploy overdrive at 68% as Altergigo said.

theres many ways of getting this

i got this by playing handlebars by flobots on guitar/any difficulty should work
get your overdrive full then use it
more overdrive will keep coming (dont miss)for more than 60 seconds and and at the end of the song u should get it

you can do this on any song
makes it easier if u have a full band(its possible to get it with 2 or 3 people)
example. 1st drummer uses od until its near empty, then guitarist uses it and then bassist uses it.
should be easier to get than rb2

heres an example

What I've noticed in all of these solutions are there are none for the actual songs on the disc. For those who don't want to spend any money, load up David Bowie's Space Odysseys and have two people playing. One person will be on Medium Guitar while the other is on Expert keys (not entirely sure if bass works, but this is how I got it). One player fills up their overdrive meter, deploy it and proceed to finish the song, hitting every overdrive and switching off between the guitar and keys to maintain it. If you are having trouble, throw in a mic on easy and hum along to add to your overdrive boost. The only problem with this achievement is that it will only pop at the end of the song, so best of luck and keep on rockin'!

Me on expert drums and my buddy on expert guitar and we got this achievement easy with the exported RB1 songs we play "Welcome Home - Coheed and Cambria" excuse if i mis-spelled we both built up our overdrive then i would use mine first and once i was almost out of star power he went into overdrive and we managed to get it

If you have rock band 1 imports and can play expert guitar this is very easily done.

Load up Foreplay/Long Time and play the first part of the song. you must whammy long star power notes In order to get the achievement. deploy your overdrive when you have a full overdrive meter and notes are coming. Remember to whammy on the long star power notes. If you have done it correctly, you should be able to break one minute.

As vSully said - "The Kill" by 30 Seconds to Mars is the easiest song to get this on, at least that's where I FINALLY got it!
However, you don't have to play at an expert level - I played the song on medium and built up a full bar and then continued to hit every note and the overdrive patterns just kept coming.
Easy (well, medium) peasy!

SOLO METHOD!

Song: Flirtin' With Disaster (RB1 Export)
Instrument: Drums
You must hit all overdrive sections!!
Save your star power until it is full. You will get a unison phrase, and two normal phrases.
Once it is full wait one fill section, then use overdrive on the next fill section that comes.
Now hit every overdrive section while you are in overdrive. the last overdrive will be a unison bonus. (on expert it is 4 blue toms and then a green crash)
Your overdrive will end just before you hit another overdrive phrase, but dont worry because even without the one that you can almost fit into your overdrive run, you will still get the achievement at the end of the song!

I have only done this on expert drums, but I believe that the overdrive phrases will be the same for all instruments.

With four people this can be done on almost any song. Supposedly this can be done solo on some imported songs thanks to unison bonuses appearing in solo play, but it is far easier to do with multiple people. This can be accomplished on almost any song (obviously it needs to be 2:00 or longer), but some claim that this can be done on solo guitar on a host of songs from Rock Band 1 and some early DLC. Two people can maintain overdrive for most of the song on many imported songs though. Coordinate with your partner and make sure that they only activate overdrive when your overdrive is about to end. A drummer or vocalist should always start the overdrive chain, since they can only activate at certain points. You can find a partner in the Achievement Trading Thread here.

You can do this trophy alone in some songs, like "The Kill" by 30 Seconds to Mars (DLC) or you can use 2 or more people in your band alternating the OverDrive (OD) activation. Here's how to do it:

Get 2 or more people in your band; all players can play on Easy. As soon as everyone has full OD, let the drummer or the vocalist activate first. Before his/her OD runs out, another player should activate theirs. The trick is to keep OD activated on only one player at a time.

Another easy way requires the song "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" from Rock Band 1. You can play guitar on Easy. Wait until the first time you have a full bar, play 2 of the green notes then activate your overdrive. If you don't miss the following OD phrases, you'll get the trophy.

I did this in the song The kill by 30 seconds to mars.
