How to unlock the Keymaster achievement in Rock of Ages - Definitive Guide

Credit goes to KabraxisOblivion from YouTube for his awesome videos!

Unfortunately these videos also show the completion of each level so each one is quite long and drawn out. They are quite useful if this is your first playthrough of the game however!

One video per level. Most of them are easy to find but there are a couple of tricky ones which are on Paris and Witches Sabbath.

Any questions, comments or improvements? Just ask.

well I've had troubles with getting the last key in Paris and... it's not showed how to get it.
It's basically walktrough for each level not a guide for getting all of the keys

I noticed that when replaying levels for missed keys you don't have to finish the level, just hit pause->change level after you've grabbed them.

A little tip for keys in Paris and the last level (in the air) - you must press jump AFTER you hit the rock, not the SAME TIME. It helped me a lot! Just a few milliseconds after you hit the rock (edge)

Sterxy, your comment hit the nail on the head for the Paris third key! Thank you for that! Pressing jump slightly after hitting the rock worked perfectly, only took my one try after that (after a couple dozen before that).

Mission 15 needs a new video. Painfully long and does not show how to get the 3rd key.

Thanks so much for posting the vids. Just want to say that the 2nd key in the video for witches sabbath was WAY harder for me to get than the hit-the-slope-then-jump-to-break-physics one. I could not get on the platform before the key because of that stupid spotter. Finally figured out that you just had to gun it from the top right after the tree... either way, thanks.

I can't find any more videos relating to the level you said was missing. Are you sure one is missing? Definitely not one of the boss battles?

Hey thanks for the comment mate and thanks for the videos! You have total rights over the vids so if you want to put up a solution yourself, let me know and I'll take this one down.

Once again thanks for the videos :)

Most of the keys for this achievement are easily spotted, a few might require a little backtracking and exploring. The story map shows you how many keys you've discovered in each map, and once you pick up a key it's marked as found even if you lose the match or quit early.

There is one particularly difficult key that had me stumped for many hours on the final level, Witches Sabbath. It's easily spotted hovering above the big ramp at the start of the course, but attempting to climb the ramp and jump back down towards it (even with the angel wings) proved almost impossible. In the end I managed to reach it completely by accident with the following method: Once the course begins simply roll full speed at the ramp's first small ledge on the right hand side, and press jump a fraction of a second before you connect. This sends your boulder bouncing almost straight upwards, and with a little practice should put you in reach of the key.

The best thing about this solution is that it requires no set-up, you can attempt it over and over again, whereas trying to reach the top of the ramp and jumping back down requires you to clear a whole bunch of catapults and a very irritating spotter balloon.

I need help with the first and third keys in Angers. I can see the first one, can't get to it. Can't even find the third one.

Is this really the only solution for this cheev?
I mean you told us how to get ONE key... Come on.
Copy and paste a real guide at least.
There are way more than one hard key to obtain and on the later levels some keys are hidden very well.

@CounterInsurgnt

Relax, dude. MattyJWest's information doesn't have to be the definitive guide and he's not at your beck and call. Maybe you'll be the one to write it since you've finished the main game, as well.

His tip is definitely helpful.

This method meant I got that key in the first attempt! However, it would have been nice to have tips for some other keys too; the first angers key is the one that gave me trouble.

Listen the simple fact is a guide to getting one key is NOT a guide to getting all keys for the achieve. Again if he had all the harder keys listed it would be a + 1

@CounterInsurgnt
This was the only key that really gave me any grief, so I thought I'd post it up in case anyone else was having similar difficulties. Not really my solution if I just wholesale copy someone else's guide, but if you'd like to drop a link in the comments to a full key guide, I'd happily add it to the post ... or, y'know, you could just add a solution yourself for others who are looking for a complete key map.

@CounterInsurgent.

Stop moaning. You have no right to unless you post a better guide yourself.

Thanks to Matty, your tips helped me get my keys.

I got that particular Key in Witches' Sabbath, by using MattyJWest's perfectly working method, on my first attempt! But, I was initially using the winged Bolder while I really needed that extra height - also, I was not destroying anything before I did this. Thank you for that information - it is really and simply great!

Thought I'd throw in my 2 cents worth here having just gotten my last key five minutes ago. My 53rd key of the 54 was the aforementioned Witches Sabbath key after coming across the exact same method on xbox360achievements.org (I had seen this in action by accident but never thought to try and pursue or replicate it). The last one for me was the 3rd key in Paris suspended in mid-air about three quarters of the way through the course. I don't know if its actually possible with wings, maybe it is, but I never got close with it after countless hours of trying, but by using the same method mentioned in this solution, you can hit the rock directly below it at speed and with a little direction and luck you'll be able to pick up the key there too.

You shouldn't press jump before making contact, but as you make contact. A developer offered this explanation on how to get the key:

"You can jump very high distances by bouncing off corners or rocks and pressing the jump key/button just as you hit the surface. In the last level to get the key move at top speed and immediately as you hit the border of the staircase, jump! You will fly high up in the sky."

Most of the keys are easy to get but you will need videos to figure out how to get some of the really annoying keys. The most difficult one would be the first key in witches sabbath, here's a video. This guy also has videos for every single other key so be sure to check them out here: LINK
