Mimics are special enemies that are disguised as treasure chests. When you attempt to open the treasure chest, the Mimic will pop out and attack your party. When you have defeated your first Mimic, this trophy will unlock. Beware, however, that Mimics tend to be overpowered compared to other enemies in the area. They have a lot of HP and use powerful physical attacks that cause Daze, and fire breath attacks that put your characters on fire. Don’t be afraid to go all out, and use buffing abilities, like Jaster’s Illusion Sword, Zegram’s Drunken Burst, Lilika’s Warrior God’s Cry, or Steve’s Protection, to give yourself the edge. When attacking the Mimic, attack it two or three times and then block its next attack before continuing, or simply attack it from afar with your character’s long-range weapon. You can also use your Burning Strike attacks on Mimics to deal massive damage at once. Be sure to continuously heal when your characters’ HP get low, and use a CO2 Powder if your characters ever go on Fire status effect. Mimics will always drop a Hunter Coin when you defeated them, so defeating Mimics are well worthwhile until you obtained the Platinum License.
