Keeper of the Blades

Upgrade all legendary Seven-Star Swords to their final form.

2.7%

How to unlock the Keeper of the Blades achievement in Rogue Galaxy - Definitive Guide

There are a total of seven Seven-Star Swords, each of which must be upgraded three times. To upgrade one, simply combine it with a higher-level sword. If the weapon you choose to combine it with isn't high-enough level, Toady will tell you it's not going to work well. You can tell when a sword is done because its name will change. For example, Desert Seeker -> Desert Seeker II -> Desert Seeker III -> Earth Shaker. Earth Shaker is the final form.

As you move through the game, watch for people with blue bubbles over their heads; they will have clues to the swords that will be recorded in your Info Edge. Most of the info below came from my Info Edge.

The Seven Swords:

1. Desert Claw will give you the Desert Seeker at the very beginning of the game.

2. Speak to the guy in the Item Shop Corbis in Vedan. Buy The Annals of Hades when you can (Platinum Hunting License required).

Give the book to Rodullier in the shop, and he'll read an excerpt:

1. The treasure lies in the ancient ruins of the Sylvazard Desert.
2. The password is: "It's not Shisa; it's Caesar!"

Head to the Tablet Pit on Rosa and speak to an Elderly Man. He'll ask for the password. Tell him Caesar, and he will give you the sword Great Caesar.

*Story Spoilers*

3, At a certain point in the game, a new chest will appear in the church at Rosa. It will contain The Pride of Kings. You must have the Star Key to open it.

4. Speak to Nico in the Cancer King ruins of Vedan. he will tell you that Cosmolore is being held by Chrisden Ark.

Speak to Mesod in the Ruins leading to the Leo King on Juraika. He will tell you the sword is being held by an infamous space pirate.

Speak to Silma in the Gladius Towers of Zerard. He will tell you that Chrisden Ark was friends with Dorgen-something-or-other.

Speak to Carraco in the Control Room of the Dorgenark. He'll tell you the ship was built by Dorgengoa and Chrisden Ark. There's info about it written on a monument in the ship somewhere.

Read the plaque in the room behind the Control Room to receive the Cosmolore.

5. At the Rosa spaceport, speak to Agassimo to be told about the woman at the church who can hear swords talking.

Speak to Misanna in the church to get factory blueprints for Ixion.

6. At the entrance to the labyrinth in the Sylvazard Desert on Rosa, speak to Kyralil Bell. She'll tell you she's worred about her friend Blaster J. who is somewhere in the labyrinth.

Search the labyrinth until you find Blaster J. (he was in the very last room for me). He will give you the sword Pegasus Lord.

7. Duke Nightmare is the only sword that has no clues in the Info Edge (at least none that I found). I had to look this one up.

You create Duke Nightmare by combining other swords.

Alexander + Plain Edge = Alex Impulse
Alex Impulse + Spirit Calibur = Demon Rouser
Gustbringer + Adamon Raiser = Majestic Halo
Majestic Halo + Demon Rouser = Duke Nightmare

Locations:

Alexander - Rant, Zerard
Plain Edge and Gustbringer - Mohandis, Rosa
Spirit Calibur - Kayo, Vedan
Adamon Raiser -Narcissus, Mariglenn

Thanks to http://www.cheatsguru.com/ps2/rogue_galaxy/walkthrough/....htm for the Duke Nightmare info.

So, your seven swords will be (first and last iterations):

Desert Seeker ->> Earth Shaker
Great Caesar ->> Babylon Reborn
Pride of Kings ->> Kingdom Master
Cosmolore ->>Ragnarok
Ixion ->> Guard Axis
Pegasus Lord ->> Gryphon Lord
Duke Nightmare ->> Dark Cloud

The earliest chapter you can obtain this trophy: Chapter Eleven

Seven-Star Swords are the galaxy's legendary swords and you can collect these special weapons for Jaster. These swords are unique because there's only one of each type and they each have four different levels. Below is a list of all Seven-Star Swords as well as their locations:

  1. Desert Seeker - Chapter One
    • Desert Claw automatically gives this to you.
  2. Ixion - Chapter Eight
    • Must be made from Factory, see Factory Worker for more information.
  3. Cosmolore - Chapter Eight
    • In any order, you must find three clues by talking to three NPCs with blue orbs beside their names:
      1. Talk to Mesod far east of planet Juraika - Path to the Ruins/Endpoint
      2. Talk to Silma far north of planet Zerard - 1st Tower/3F
      3. Talk to Nico east of planet Vedan - Cancer King's Ruins/Orphan's Hideout
    • Return to the Dorgenark and go to the Control Room. Talk to Carraco at the terminal controls. After talking to Carraco, enter the room next to the Transporter and you'll obtain the sword by examining the monument in the middle of the hallway.
  4. Great Caesar - Chapter Eight
    • First you need to obtain Platinum License from MIO by collecting 120 Hunter Coins. Then go to planet Vedan to buy the Annals of Hades from Item Shop Corbis for 6,000 Zehn. After buying the book, talk to Rodullier who's inside the shop and he'll translate the book for you. Lastly, go to planet Rosa - Great Tablet/Near the tablet and talk to the Elderly Man in the area. Answer his question by telling him "No" and you'll obtain the sword.
  5. Pride of Kings - Chapter Ten
    • After returning from Johannasburg, go to Salgin/Near the Church to talk to Ulbor who's outside the church. This causes a new chest to spawn inside the church, so enter the church and open the new treasure chest, which requires the Star Key, to obtain the sword.
  6. Pegasus Lord - Chapter Eleven
    • On planet Rosa - Labyrinth/Entrance talk to Kyralil Bell twice to get information out of her. Now you need to find Blaster J, who's located somewhere within the Labyrinth. He's not always in the same location, and it's highly recommended that you equip the Stealth Guard to stop all random encounters while you're looking for Blaster J. The best thing you can do is to start from the Labyrinth/Maze of Chaos Transporter and search from there. If you're still having issues finding him try watching this video for Blaster J's locations. When you do find Blaster J, just talk to him to obtain the sword.
  7. Duke Nightmare - Chapter Eleven
    • This sword must be created using Toady (see Gimme Somethin' Tasty! for information on item synthesis). First, you must buy Metal Breaker from Alice on Planet Zerard - West Side/Near the Item Shop; Grand Calibur from Wanboko on planet Juraika - Burkaqua Village/Path to Burkaqua Exit; Spirit Calibur from Kayo on planet Vedan - Myna/Near Weapon Shop; Adamon Raiser from Narcissus on planet Mariglenn - Queen's Palace/Depot.
    • Max out each weapon by completing 15 fights and use Toady until you created the Duke Nightmare as shown below:
      1. Metal Breaker + Grand Calibur = Demon Rouser
      2. Spirit Calibur + Adamon Raiser = Majestic Halo
      3. Majestic Halo + Demon Rouser = Duke Nightmare

Now that you have all legendary Seven-Star Swords in your inventory, the final step is to upgrade them to their final form. You do this by completing at least 15 battles with a sword until it is "Max", then you need to feed it the right "level" weapon to create a stronger version of the Seven-Star Sword. You do this by using the Toady, which should be simple to use for at this point. Now the level of the weapons varies for each Seven-Star Swords, but they can be either the exact level or higher. Personally, it's much easier to just use the same weapon for each synthesizing you do with Toady. For example, the Adamon Raiser is a Lv45 weapon for Jaster that can be purchased from Narcissus on the planet Mariglenn - Queen's Palace/Depot. This weapon is perfect for getting all legendary Seven-Star Swords to their final forms. Time consuming, yes, but it's highly recommended that you combine this trophy with reaching level 99 during your Ghost Ship Extreme.

Below is a list of all the levels needed to be synthesize:

  1. Desert Seeker ~ final form: Earthshaker
    • Lv11 or higher weapon
    • Lv18 or higher weapon
    • Lv26 or higher weapon
  2. Ixion ~ final form: Guard Axis
    • Lv26 or higher weapon
    • Lv33 or higher weapon
    • Lv42 or higher weapon
  3. Cosmolore ~ final form: Ragnarok
    • Lv23 or higher weapon
    • Lv31 or higher weapon
    • Lv40 or higher weapon
  4. Great Ceasar ~ final form: Babylon Reborn
    • Lv20 or higher weapon
    • Lv26 or higher weapon
    • Lv37 or higher weapon
  5. Pride of Kings ~ final form: Kingdom Master
    • Lv14 or higher weapon
    • Lv20 or higher weapon
    • Lv31 or higher weapon
  6. Pegasus Lord ~ final form: Gryphon Lord
    • Lv31 or higher weapon
    • Lv37 or higher weapon
    • Adamon Raiser or Judgment Halo
  7. Duke Nightmare ~ final form: Dark Cloud
    • Lv18 or higher weapon
    • Lv23 or higher weapon
    • Lv33 or higher weapon

Once you have your last Seven-Star Sword in its final form, the trophy will unlock. And no, each sword doesn't need to be "MAX", simply just reach the fourth and final form with all legendary Seven-Star Swords.

The Seven-Star Swords are legendary swords for Jaster. I advise you to start this trophy when you have all the necessary things and conditions to obtain them. You will need all Sun Key , platinum license , as well as access to all galaxies. Below I will provide a list of swords and where to look for them.

Desert Seeker - Obtained in Chapter 1 . Desert Claw will give it to Jaster .
By the way, you can immediately upgrade this sword and as soon as the frog appears, combine it with other weapons; I already ran with Desert Seeker III in Chapter 4. Powerful weapon. All that remains is to turn it into a legendary weapon. Actually here's what you need to do:

Desert Seeker + LVL 11 weapons or higher (any Jaster sword) = Desert Seeker II
Desert Seeker II + LVL 18 weapons or higher = Desert Seeker III
Desert Seeker III + LVL 26 weapons or higher = Earthshaker

Pride of Kings - Go to Salgin , outside the church, after leaving Johannasburg . Talk to Ulbor outside the church. Now go inside and open the new chest (requires Star Key ).

Ixion - create at the factory. See the drawing in the corresponding trophy.

Great Ceasar - Go to Corbis' Item Shop in Myna after receiving the Platinum license. Buy Annal of Hades from Corbis . Talk to Rodullier in the store. Then head to Rosa's Ancient Ruins : next to the Great Tablet . There you will find an old man behind a column. Talk to him and select " No " to receive the sword.

Duke Nightmare - Can only be obtained by merging with another sword. You will need to combine Metal Breaker + Grand Calibur to create Demon Rouser . Also combine Spirit Calibur + Adamon Raiser to create Majestic Halo . Now connect Majestic Halo and Demon Rouser .

Pegasus Lord - Head to Rosa Labyrinth: Entrance . Go south and you will find Kyralil Bell . Talk to her twice. Now search the maze to find Blaster J. It can be found in the Maze of Chaos section of the maze. When you find him, talk to him to get the sword.

Cosmolore - You need to talk to several scientists to learn the sword. head to Vedan Cancer King's Ruins: Orphan Hideout . Go to the northeast corner of the area. Talk to Nico , then head to Juraika Path in Ruins: Endpoint . Go east to the second large rectangular area on the map. Talk to Mesod . Now go to Zerard Gladius Towers 1st Tower: 3F . From the transporter with the save point, go left and then north all the way. Talk to Silman . Return to Dorgenark control room. Here, talk to Carraco . Finally, head into the corridor next to the transporter (which leads to Dorgengoa's room). Examine the wall in the center to get a sword.

I had 2 discrepancies with the video:
1. Silman was not far from the teleport.
2. Carraco was in the control room.

Many thanks to the user Pinokew for your help.

Now you need to upgrade all these weapons several times, as in the example with Desert Seeker .
Let's go to Mariglenn Spaceport . We talk with Narcissus and buy 21 Judgment Halos ((LVL 46 weapon) or 18 if Desert Seeker started downloading from the very beginning of the game). You will need a lot of local currency to purchase 21 single swords. Money can be farmed in Mother's Lair , where it drops from 2 to 3 thousand. By the end of the main story, I had already fully upgraded 3 legendary swords.

You will have to fight a lot, you will need to fully upgrade all the swords, yes, yes, 21 swords, but that’s not all, you also need to upgrade all the swords of the seven stars, then combine with Judgment Halos , you will get a new sword, upgrade it again, then combine again and pump again and so on until the final form of each sword.

I highly recommend combining this trophy with getting the trophy for level 99, you will save a significant amount of time.

Although, to be honest, by the end of the main story (53 hours), I already had 3 swords fully upgraded and 1 half-leveled. And Judgment Halos 8 pumped up. So, the trophy won’t take long if you start leveling up your swords right away, and not towards the end of the game.

The second longest and most boring trophy in the game. You need to make, find, get all 7 of these unfortunate swords. Which sounds simple. And this is true, but it takes sooooo long. Because you will also need to upgrade each of them to level 4. As soon as you understand how weapons are upgraded here, you will feel the futility of existence.
In short, in order to do anything with any weapon, you need to upgrade it through 15 any battles, the experience for battles for weapons is fixed! So, when leveling up these, you will need to fuse them with others. It's very stupid and dull. Very. But the main joke is that these swords are not the strongest in the game even at 4 levels, which is why they are “unfortunate”
