Romancing SaGa 2 (HP)

After several generations, for me I think I it was the 5th or 6th generation, whilst in the throne room the advisor suggested to improve the equipment for the guards. After agreeing to the cost (300,000 crowns) and going to fight 15 battles, come back to the palace and the imperial guards will be present by the stairs which lead to the throne room where usually two plain guards stood. They will stand out as their armour is more noticeable and clearly different to previously. The achievement for me did not unlock until I accepted one of the new guards into the party however, which you can only do if you have an open spot after a member of your party has died or it's the start of a new generation.
