How to unlock the Rule The Pool achievement in Rugby World Cup 2011 - Definitive Guide

5 points is awarded for:
4 points for a win
1 "bonus" point for scoring 4 tries (or more)

This can be made easier by maxing out all the Speed & Acceleration stats of your chosen team and reducing only the Speed, Acceleration and tackling stats of the teams in your group. This can be time consuming but makes beating the machine on "hard" much easier.

Change the difficulty back to Easy after the pool stages and win the tournament for another easy 50G -

Win all your 4 matches to score 20 group points (5 per win) and the achievement will pop after you complete your 4th group match. I would advise winning by 4 tries or so to gain the bonus point per match.

You must score 4+ tries (and win) in each pool match to secure the 5 points.
If you win and score 3 or less tries (and win) then you will only get 4 points and void the achievement.

i think you need to score 4 tries at least to gain a bonus point (or win by a big margin). I didnt get it the first time, the second time I attempted it I made sure i won by a margin of 40-50 points.

1. Choose the team you want to be for the World Cup - I suggest England as they have the easiest group.
2. Edit the Speed, Acceleration, Strength and Agility stats of each player to 99 (you can do the others if you wish)
3. Edit Argentina, Scotland, Georgia and Romania so that all the players have 1 speed.
4. Begin a world cup, use the 2011 schedules.
5. You should be able to run round the opposition, try not to loose possession of the ball inside your own half, if in doubt punt for touch. Also one thing I have noticed about the CPU is that they tend to kick it a lot whenever the ball is in their half, this means, if they don't make touch you can run the ball back, which I found is the easiest way to score points.

I was doing this with Namibia to do two achievements at the same time, i won all my games but only ended up with 19 points. You have to score enough trys, or win by a certain amount to get tbp points. i beat Samoa 26 - 0 and got one but beat S.Africa 21 - 10 and didn't get one.

Just thought i'd add that.

Thank you, didn't realised i'd forgotten to add that! You must score 4 tries as that gives you the bonus point

Every match has to be played on hard, and to get 20 points you need 5 points x 40 matches = 20 points. That means winning each match for 4 points, and also scoring at least 4 tries each match to get the bonus point available.
