The fight has two phases: in the first phase the Sodden Knight will swing slowly and a single time. The key to this part of the fight is to roll to the opposite side he's facing and give him a few smacks. Rinse, repeat. He'll also electrify the floor but his wind-up takes a while and he needs to catch his breath afterwards; you should have plenty of time to dodge without follow-up hits.
The second phase involves the Sodden Knight moving more quickly and typically giving three hits in a row; he'll also change direction mid-swing. His electrify the floor attack still has a wind-up but he'll almost always jump toward you after he triggers it. Your best bet is to jump and roll toward him to avoid getting hit.
The Sodden Knight is slow enough you can run to the far side of the arena and have time to drink a health potion. If you need additional help against him, he appears to be weak to fire damage. If you need more help, just run through the Festering Banquet a few times and level up.

This is the first boss you are going to encounter in this game. The Sodden Knight is located at The Festering Banquet. His attacks are based on slash and lightning damage. He is weak against fire, though he is strong against poison. The boss battle has two stages. When he performs a combo, he will always attack to the same direction. Use this to get behind him and do some damage.
During the first stage, he will perform:
- Slash Combo - The boss can perform a one, two or three hit combo. You can roll to get to his back and attack him.
- Lightning Attack - The boss will punch the ground, and a lightning will follow the ground to both directions. Simply jump at the right moment to avoid being hit.
- Jump Attack - The boss will jump forward and slash his sword in front of him. Just roll under him and you can get some free hits.
During the second stage, he will perform the same movements as previously. His attacks are quicker and he performs two more combos:
- Jump/Slash Combo - The boss will frequently perform a 2-hit combo after his jump. Get behind him and attack him.
- Lightning Attack/Jump/Slash Combo - This is his most deadly attack, as he will perform all of these in a sequence.
Upon victory, you will receive: Fortress Key, The Sodden Knight’s Ashes.
