In Survival mode, you are tasked with defeating a set amount of opponents (49 to be exact) while completing in match conditions to obtain more time or health. Matches will play out in sets of tens, meaning as you move from opponent 1 to 10 the AI will progressively get more difficult until you reach the boss at match 10. The difficulty will then reset once you move to match 11 and continue in the same pattern. Keep in mind that you do receive a reward of full time and health for successfully beating the boss at every 10th match. Still, your success in this mode will depend on your ability to consistently fulfill the conditions to get more health or time back from non boss matches (whichever you need more of at the time) and thanks to the sub-par translation of the game from Japanese to English, it is often difficult to understand what the game wants you to do. Below I will detail all the possible conditions and what they actually entail:

3 Times_Chohatsu - Taunt 3 times during a match

3 Times_Doll - Use the Toy Transformation 3 times during the match

3 Times_Mikiri_Slide - Avoid an attack with a Mikiri slide 3 times during match

Each_Air_Guard - Rewarded each time you block an attack while in the air during a match

Each_Counter - Rewarded each time you interrupt an opponent's attack (attack the opponent while they are attacking you)

Each_Haziki - Rewarded each time you deflect an attack with Deflect

Each_Item_Hit - Rewarded each time you hit the opponent with a thrown item

Each_Item_Haziki - Rewarded each time you deflect a thrown item with Deflect

Finish_Hand - Finish the match while weaponless

Finish_Hi_Ougi - Finish the match with a Secret Move

Finish_High - Finish the match with a Strong slash, unarmed doesn't count

Finish_Hyper - Finish the match with a Hyper Slash

Finish_Issen - Finish the match with a Flash Strike

Finish_Kuzushi - Finish the match with a Throw

Finish_Mu - Finish the match while under Null state

Finish_Oiuti - Finish the match with an Appended Attack

Finish_Renzan - Finish the match with a Continuous Slash

Finish_Special - Finish the match with a special command move (ex. 236X, 623X, etc.)

Finish_Weapon_Blow - Finish the match with a Weapon Blow

Finish_Weapon_Break - Finish the match with a Weapon Break

Non - Win the battle

Over 3_Combo - Perform a 3 hit combo or more during the match

Some conditions are easier to fulfill than others so complete the conditions you know you can do in comparison to those that seem more difficult. As far as characters go, I would suggest using Amakusa as he is one of the strongest characters in the game that allows you to zone the opponent out with ease. Follow the tips under Elite Samurai for more tips on using Amakusa. Once you have completed all 49 battles in Survival mode, the trophy will unlock.
