How to unlock the It's a long way to the top achievement in SBK X: Superbike World Championship - Definitive Guide

It's possible to get this achievement and

SBK X: Superbike World ChampionshipCareer manThe Career man achievement in SBK X: Superbike World Championship worth 138 pointsIn the same career, win at least one season in STK, WSS™ and SBK® in Career Mode

SBK X: Superbike World ChampionshipNow you have to keep them cleanThe Now you have to keep them clean achievement in SBK X: Superbike World Championship worth 115 pointsWin all the cups in Career Mode

in same career playthrough but you need to concentrate on SBK class.
Why?
Because starter SBK bike of one of better teams in season 3 has higher stats that upgraded WTK bike after first 3 seasons.
How I know this?
As you might saw bike start with 1.0 stat and for each ef next main levels it need 1 more upgrade to move to next level - for example:
1.0->1.1->2.0 - 2 points/test sessions
2.0->2.1->2.2->3.0 - 3 sessions
3.0->3.1->3.2->3.3->4.0 - 4 sessions
4.0->4.1->4.2->4.3->4.4->5.0 - 5 sessions

etc, for level 5.0 you need total of 14 upgrades/test session and no matter which bike class you pick there is always 7 test sessions per season so before signing new contract check team bike stats by pressing X, count how many upgr. points they used and compare it to your current bike. Sign contract only when new bike has been upgraded more then yours.

This is how you should sign contracts:
Season 1 - STK
Season 2 - WSS
Season 3 - WSS/SBK (if there is SBK team with more upgr. points used than your bike but propable there won't be)
Season 4-8 - At season 4 you should get offer from one of top SBK teams, remain with same SBK team as in S3 or pick new if there is is one with more points used.

This way you will get all main career chieevos and fully upgrade your bike in 1 run. You should fully upgr. SBK bike in middle of last season so you can miss max 1-2 test sessions.

First thing: this is an excellent solution and helped me a lot thx!
Second thing: Check the other solution for the infos what u have to do for each test session, that help me a lot too. thx. if u dont know what to do it could be that u drive multiple laps which not count and u dont know why...
third thing: some improvements/tips from my side:
if u use one of these strategies u can save A LOT of time:
1. dont do any test before the start of year 4(win every race for all the other chievos), at the beginning of year 4 u will get an offer from a sbk top team, in my 2 carriers i got in both an offer from a top team with already 23 upgrade points installed(the minimum is 21!). that means u need 33 more and u have 5 seasons left with 35 test sessions BUT u have to do all of ur tests in SBK class with 3 clean laps, that takes some time, also u have 24 season races in the SBK.
2. (thats what i do) Start a new career only for the upgrade achievement:
Season 1 no tests, just win it. Before season 2 u get an offer of a stk top team, this need a minimum of 7 upgrade points (for me it had 9). From now on complete every testsession and win every championship and stay with ur stk team till the end. In the 8th. year u will maximize ur bike stats. now finish that career for the other achievement. There are 2 BIG advantages:
1. in stk u have only 10 races per season and u just need to win it, that means in most cases u can skip 2 Races.
2. for the tests u only need 1 clean lap and this is easy. i read somewhere that the test sessions get a little more difficult in the higher classes and i think thats the case.
I Hope i can help anyone out there.

In career mode, which can only be played in simulation, you get the chance to "test" for bike upgrades.
One of the sessions in a race weekend will be marked (with a spanner icon), race in this session and meet the requirement to get the upgrade

You need to upgrade all your bike stats to 5.0 by completing tests:
Engine: High speed: Reach a certain speed. Usually more than 260 kph
ECU: Minimum speed: Stay above a minimum speed. Usually 60 kph (some tracks 70 kph, even 80 kph)
Brakes: Just complete the laps. You can fall, you can go off track but you cannot cut corners.
Chassis: Trajectory. Stay on the racing line. You can switch that one on in the options menu.

The tests are random given.

Make sure you start completing the tests on your first season. A career only consist of 8 seasons. If your bike stats are not maximized by the end of year 2017, you need to restart a career.

Stay with the same team so you can work further on maximizing your stats. Make sure you complete your team goals otherwise they fire you and you have to start a new career.

Be aware that is difficult to achieve all stats maxed out if you go for this achievement in the same career:

Trajectory: in the carrier menu -> options -> video settings. It was hard to find.

This trophy must be earned in a new career. In order to unlock every component you must carry out each test when it comes up. In order to see if there is something to test that weekend, when inside the garage go across to session and see if there is a spanner icon next to one of the sessions. If there is it means there is a new component up for grabs, so go to the session and complete the task. The first time you do this you will earn Tuner time. As you will need to stay with the same team throughout your career to earn all the components, this will have to be done on a new career as you will not be able to get the other trophies (for joining new teams, etc).

The bike is fully upgraded when the stats are 5.0 for all 4 areas. The test will require you to use your breaks very little (just do a lap slowly), reach a high speed (flat out a straight even if you then crash), keep a perfect trajectory (hardest by a long way, try to keep behind an AI rider and follow his line) and minimum speed (complete a lap without the speedometer dropping below about 30mph on some tracks, 50mph on others, so aim for 50mph).
