There's certainly a lot of luck involved in this one, but it will become easier the more you've played the game. As puzzles start to repeat themselves, you'll be quicker on the draw because you may remember the answers.
You lose time if you guess incorrectly (about 10 seconds) so if you need another second or two to be certain, you're better to be sure of your answer than to just hammer in a quick but incorrect response.
I find that the puzzles which slowly introduce clues (like the animations) are the most frustrating to encounter in a Fast Fire game because they eat up so much time, but there isn't any way to exclude them from the selection process. These are the type though that will be quicker to answer once you've seen them before.
The Achievement will unlock when the timer reached 0:00 and the game ends. It will not unlock mid-game as soon as you pass the 250,000 point barrier.
