How to unlock the Citronella Armor achievement in Section 8: Prejudice - Definitive Guide

This is a guide for obtaining this solo (offline with bots). It's a bit luck based, but certainly possible - it took me 4 tries.

- From the main menu, go to Swarm > Offline > Select Medium Difficulty, and for your map choose Whiteout. Start the game, then go to your loadouts. You can play around a bit if you want, but here is what I recommend (some of this stuff will need to be unlocked):

Sniper Rifle - Frag Rounds
Assault Rifle - Automaton Mod
Riot Mortar
Repair Tool
Standard Armor
+2 Tungsten Coating, +2 Gyro Stabilizer, +4 Composite Plating, +2 Repair Field

- Start the game, drop down and hack the control point. Now look north, facing away from the base, and you should see a set of crates on the ground (2 big, 1 small). This is going to be your own personal defense spot. Go behind them. The general idea is you can hide behind them, peek out around both sides to watch the left and right flanks, as well as crouch in the middle to see enemies going through your base.

- Use your sniper and start taking out enemies as the come, the use your riot mortar to on groups (try to aim where they're moving too, not where they are unless they're obviously sitting still). As soon as you have $20, place a supply depot right behind the crates with you - make sure it's close enough that it will be resupplying you when you're hiding behind them.

- Keep fighting as normal, your AI teammates aren't amazing but they should be decent enough that you'll survive. Watch out for enemies come over the hills on the left and right, and enemies going on top of your base.

- When you get $100, you can buy a mech. While it presents a bigger target, the extra firepower and protection is helpful. The biggest thing you need to know about it is GET OUT if it's taking too much damage, because A) you'll drop out with full personal health and B) you can repair it with your repair tool. You can also stand near supply depots (or jump out of it, leaving it beside one) and it will be automatically repaired.

- When you get more cash, make sure to jump out and put down rocket turrets (they cost $40). You only get 2, so place one on either side. Make sure to put them far enough out that they'll shoot at targets on the hills - while putting them behind cover will keep the turrets safe, it won't keep you safe.

- Other tips:
- When enemy mechs show up, don't let them get to close to you - they can pull off the instant kill fatality just like you can. You can try to risk pulling it off yourself, but it's safer to move away from them, shooting and letting the turrets help you out.
- You can also repair friendly buildings - and even your teammates using your repair tool. Make sure to do so in the small downtimes between waves.
- Don't focus too much on the DCMs, most of them aren't worth the trouble. The only one worth noting is the VIP mission, because if you succeed the VIP stays and acts as an extra bot to help you out (he fights and can defuse the control point too). He has more health and shields, but also doesn't regenerate as quickly, so make sure to use your repair tool on him.

As mentioned, it's a bit luck based but very possible. Practice and you'll eventually get better at the little details. Good luck! :)

This worked great. Making sure 2 missile turrets are up on each side works wonders against the Bot Mechs, they damage them enough for you to take them out with your Mech. If they get destroyed, make another, you'll have plenty of money at this point. Very easy achievement on this map. Thanks.

So I tried Radiant Viper's method a couple times and it didn't really work for me. Here's how I did it, it takes a little more of the skill out of the equation.

First of all, I did it on Eden - Solar Array. What you're going to want to do, is camp up on the very top of the base, directly above the defense point. Now I did this with friendly bots and with the difficulty set to Medium. Without that, I don't know if this will work.

For weapons, I used the Assault Rifle with the Automation Mod and the Shotgun with Incendiary Rounds. The fire damage eats through armor nicely, and is surprisingly effective against vehicles once you get the shields down. You'll want to be sure and bring the repair tool along for self-healin', the other equipment slot is up to you. The mortar is nice for large groups of infantry.

Battle plan: Spawn in, hack the... whatever it is that you're hacking, then jet-pack up to the circular roof area. Start taking out bad guys until you have $20 to buy a supply depot. Drop that up on your roof-fortress, preferably as close to the center as possible. You want to minimize the amount of fire it takes. This thing is going to keep you ammo'd and healed up for oncoming swarm. You'll notice that there are 3 elevators up to the level below you. You're going to want to put turrets on the roofs of 2 of these elevators. These can take out enemies as they approach, as well as ones who make it up on the platform. I recommend the less damaging, but tougher, miniguns at first, then replace them with missile launchers when you start to face vehicles and have the money to replace them frequently. You can jet-pack over and repair them during breaks in the combat, but you will be losing some turrets. Fortunately, between turret kills and assists, your kills, and any other points, you should have plenty of cash to replace them. If not, you're not shooting enough, or your turrets aren't in good places.

For me, the first 7-8 minutes were a breeze, most enemies got picked off in the distance by turret/rifle fire. Later on, more guys made it up on the platform, this is where your shotgun comes in handy. Once you get through the shields, the fire takes them down quick. The last 2-3 minutes might get a little hairy. I spent most of my time monitoring my turrets and replacing them, repairing my supply depot and healing myself. You're going to attract a lot of attention up there, particularly if one of your AI allies decides to join you. They might drop a minigun, which is nice because your supply depot can auto-repair it, keeping you protected and feed you some nice points.

All in all, this isn't too difficult. As long as you keep an eye on your heath, keep your turrets up to destroy the mechs (which are obviously the biggest threat) and don't get entirely overrun, you shouldn't have a problem. Hope this helps.

Can be obtained in LAN mode.

The easiest way to get his trophy would be to play on the map Whiteout on medium. You need four people for this, not bots, and up to two people can get this trophy at once. (looking at the map from inside the dropship) The person(s) going for this trophy stay behind the rightmost circular dome the entire map, while everyone else makes sure to cover the CP. Lay down a supply point behind the person(s) hiding and make sure to have an easily accessible supply point for everyone else too. Everyone needs to have a repair tool and some sort of strike for the CP. Keep striking the CP when enemies get to close and make sure to put down turrets around the supply depot so that they can heal them. If you have enough money, buying one or two mechs is highly recommended. They can clear out a group of enemies by the CP quite easily, as well as make use of their quite powerful guns. Two or three people need to stay on the ground and cover the supply drops/ request new ones; and you can’t do that in a mech.
