How to unlock the King of Battle Rally achievement in Shenmue III - Definitive Guide
Battle Rally is a race with fights. You'll have to race through Bailu Village and fight enemies along the way to earn a high score. You'll have to earn the high score in each of the seven levels to unlock all four trophies related to Battle Rally. Before attempting the Battle Rally races, it's best to play Bailu Chan Hunt and locate all 120 of the Bailu Chan first so that you can unlock health and attack boosts to use in Battle Rally. These upgrades make a big difference. In order to get the high score in each level you will have to defeat as many enemies as possible as quickly as possible because those are the two primary factors that determine your final score.
There are multiple types of enemies that give you different amounts of points when defeated.
- Red Shirts - 1,000 points
- Black Shirts - 1,200 points
- Blue Shirts - 1,400 points
- White Shirts - 1,600 points
- Gold Shirts - 2,000 points
- Unique thug characters - 2,000 points (usually; 2 of them in the last level give less points)
Other items that give you points
- Checkpoints - 3,000 points
- Seconds left on the timer - 200 points each
- Distance traveled - up to 1,000 points
- Crossed the finish line - 5,000 points

Characters:
I recommend playing as Ryo because of his Elbow Assault move. It's very quick and powerful. Just run forward and use :R2: to use the Elbow Assault move on everybody. Red shirts are disposed of with 1 hit while the majority of black and white shirts are taken out with 3 hits. You can usually take out all the black and white shirts quickly because the Elbow Assault stuns them so you can hit them again. If there are multiple opponents in one area you can switch it up and use the Tornado Kick to hit multiple people at once. If they start blocking your attacks then switch up your moves to one of his other preset moves like Breakout which is another strong move. In the later tracks there will be a final boss at the end that's very tough and takes a long time to defeat, just ignore him and run through the goal. The time bonus will make up for skipping him.
If you want to play as Ren then I recommend using the High Kick Combo as it's the quickest of his moves. It's slower than Ryo's Elbow Assault but it works better as the majority of the black and white shirts go down after using the move twice on them. The rest of his other combos are great to use too when you need to shuffle up the moves when someone is blocking your attacks.
If you want to play as Zhen then I recommend using her Revolving Crane Kick as it's the quickest of her moves. It's slower than Ryo's Elbow Assault but it's more powerful. The majority of the black and white shirts go down after using the move twice on them. She also has other great kicking combos when you need to shuffle up the moves when someone is blocking your attacks.
