Shenmue (EP)

This is part of the story and therefore unmissable. The steps for this part of the story are:

This follows on from Gainful Employment. I am not sure all these steps are needed, but this is what I did. After learning to use the fork lift until 5PM, I then spoke to some guys near Warehouse 1. They gave me a little info on the Fallen Angels. I then hunted around the harbor for more info and around 7:15PM, as I went near the Alpha Trading office, a cutscene occurred with 2 bikers chasing the homeless man. I intervened and started a bike race. It is a QTE race with the following prompts: X, Down, Left, Right. If you succeed they will leave the guy alone. At this point I found nothing more to do, so went home, saved and slept.

When you wake up, you will jump straight to the harbor and have a forklift race. The reason I saved before sleeping is so I could reload and aim for until I got it. (You will do the race each morning, I just wanted to get it out of the way, although I got it first try using the video on the solution as a reference). After the race, you will be given your first job. This is to move crates to warehouse 18. Use the map (press ) to see the route you should drive. I had 10 moved by the lunch break at 12PM, the a cutscene occurs in which you go into a fight, and you have to wait until 2PM to start working again. At 2PM, you will be back in your forklift and you can continue moving crates. As I drove into the warehouse around 3:30PM, I got in another fight and once that was done with, I could finish up working. By 4PM, I had moved all the crates in and had to sit and wait for 5PM so I could finish up.

After being paid, I had a cutscene and then the moment I moved left, Gui Zhang appeared in a cutscene and offered to teach me Swallow Dive. You do the move by press + at the same time (I found using the DPad made it easier). Once I finished that cutscene, I ran around towards the bus stop and as I passed by warehouse 18, I got another cutscene with the homeless man, he taught me Shadow Step. You do the move by pressing ++ at the same time.

At this point, I went home and slept. The next day another forklift race and then moving crates from warehouse 18 to 3. After lunch you will continue your shift and around 3:45PM when you head towards warehouse 3 you will get into another fight with the Mad Angels. Finish up your job and head towards warehouse 17. After a cutscene you will be in another fight. After the fight, head to where the homeless guy sits, near warehouse 18. The same spot he taught you a move the night before. He will teach you another one, and then after speaking to him, you will learn the Mad Angels hang out at night in the harbor. They didn't appear to be there on this night though. I spoke to other random people, but no one gave me more information. When I tried to go to the bus, I was unable to as I had to ask around more. I took this chance to call 0468-61-564 from the phone box with password:

Mother's Earth
Comrades"

and then I go to see Gui Zhang and get him to translate the Stab Armor scroll. Once you leave him, open your menu (), go to Collection then Scrolls and read Stab Armor to unlock the move. By this point, it was 9PM and I could go on the bus and head home to sleep.

The next day, do the race, then work until lunch. Experience a cutscene, it doesn't matter what picture you choose here, then kill time until 2PM and then finish work. At around 7PM when it turns to night, head to warehouse 18 (where you learn moves from the homeless man) and you should find the Mad Angels and get a QTE cutscene. The moves are:



The last 2 options give you both left and right, you must follow him, if you pick the other option then you fail. After this, you will have a fight and can then head home to sleep.

The next day, you will do another race and then your morning of work and a break for lunch. When you get back to work, a short bit into it you will experience a QTE cutscene. The buttons for this are:



Finish up working and then head to the 2 guys talking near warehouse 1. They will give you some info about the Mad Angels. Now head to the homeless man near warehouse 18 to learn Charge Cross. Just after 7PM, I found Mark outside Alpha Trading who gave me a little extra info (if you miss Mark, you can get the same info the next day during your lunch break). I couldn't find much else, but was stuck until 9PM again. Then I went home to sleep again.

The next day is the same, race, then morning shift. A small cutscene at lunch and then after the break during the next shift there will be a QTE cutscene. There are a few points in the QTE that you make a choice to go left or right. One is at a van, I went left, not sure what occurs on the right, could be failure. The second time is when the people you are chasing split up. Whatever you choose keeps the chase going, but changes the button prompts. The prompts are:

Finish up work and head home. Go to sleep when you can and you will get a cutscene and have to head to behind warehouse 17. At this point I ran for the bus only to find out it wasn't running anymore. I run back up to Sakuragaoka and found a motorbike near Abe's store. Using to look at the intercom and press it. You will get a cutscene in which you borrow the motorbike. You then have to drive to the harbor. The road is empty, so you just have to focus on the turns. Make sure you slow for the tighter ones. I made it with 10 seconds to spare. You will then enter into multiple fights in a row, then a cutscene. Followed by the trophy unlocking.

Unmissable. Near the end of the game you will rescue Nozomi. You'll have to fight some guys but it's the calm before the storm so shouldn't be too difficult.
