Blind John is a boss, and found at the end of Level 5.
He can only be hit from behind; jump / bounce up when he charges, and shoot at him whilst he recovers.
10 hits and achievement is yours!

10 hits? He loses 1 heart after 3-4 hits and there are 10 hearts. Unless I'm missing something.

Mine glitched out. My ISP lost connection and it was right as I beat the him. I'm unsure if it was that OR you have to beat him without losing a life. On my second attempt I lost a life near the end. I will reboot the game and try again shortly and update for those of you who think it is glitching for them also.
**Update**
I beat the next boss having lost lives and that boss' achievements popped straight away. So I rebooted the game (Start>Quit) then played a new game from the beginning. Got up to Blind John again and beat him after just one bird and it popped straight away. Phew.
I'd also add, getting extra hits on him, not just three per bend over phase, makes his next phase require less hits. So be super aggressive and you can probably get him done in about one bird. Saves having to dodge the annoying birds. Also don't eat the food until you need it, if you need it. This is a really fun game btw! :)

Tips:
- Pausing DOES stop the timer (suggested to pause then watch the video to see where the cave is located. Then un pause and cruise through the level)
- SIGI all easily found
- Only the Prologue, Boss Fights & Lv. 17 don't have caves
- If you fail to get a letter within the cave (won't let you back in) hit Pause and "Reset Level". This will save your 100% run, it happened to my friend I know this works.
- Do Not slow down for coins or enemies
- All Boss fights include commentary adding the ways to beat them quick!
- All *Special items* (5) and All Caves (15) are timestamped below
