Renew 25 beacons in Extermination (public match)

How to unlock the Creature Hater achievement in Singularity - Definitive Guide

Not a really hard achievement here, but more time consuming rather than anything else. Just keep playing extermination mode & work for other achievements, but just get this one a little at the time as you go.

Every round, there's a possibility that you can renew 3 beacons. More than likely, you're not gonna get all 3 yourself though because other's will probably renew other beacons. If you activated all of them yourself in a row, it would still take AT LEAST 9 matches for you to get this.

I didn't really worry with getting this one so much, but I just kept playing lots of extermination matches and let my renewals build up over time. I got this achievement right at my 31st match, just because I let other have a shot at renewing beacons too.

ALSO IMPORTANT:
This achievement can be misleading. Your renewal DOES NOT count until it is renewed and the 20 seconds of protecting it is up.

For example, if I renewed the beacon and it survived for 15 seconds, then another person in the match renewed it and it survived for 20 seconds. I would not get credit for the renewal, but he/she would. It's a little confusing and quite a bit of work for 10 G, but it's worth it for a completion. Message me if you're still confused.

*Edit: Also, I've been informed that if someone renews the beacon all the way and it gets hit and you boost the health back to 100%, it also counts as a renewal. Needs some confirmation. Sounds plausible though.

*Edit: Onza says: "Partial credit does count as a renew... After the beacon goes active, if you see a +20, +30, +40 etc. on your screen, meaning you got XP for a renew, you also got credit towards the achievement too."

Yeah, my blitzer did the same. I checked right before 585, and it was accurate, but as soon as I got it, it went up to like 66000. But I checked my renewals throughout and when I got to 24, I renewed a beacon, but it didn't last for the 20 seconds, so I didn't get it. Then once I actually renewed another one and the 20 seconds were up then the achievement popped right after the 20 seconds were up.

Ok, just got the achievement. I also was at 24/25 renewals per the stats page and when I fully activated the beacon (but it didn't last the 20 seconds), the achievement didn't pop. However, the way I got mine was that someone else renewed the beacon and while we were defending it, I renewed it to boost it's health back up to 100%. After the 20 seconds were up, the achievement popped. I hope that the other player gets credit for renewing it, too.

Oh okay, I didn't know. I just assumed that it had to be renewed and last all 20 seconds because of the fact that it didn't pop til the 20 seconds were over, if you know what I mean.

Certainly a nice tip about the boosting health to get your beacons. This isn't actually that easy to get and then last the full 20 seconds, someone usually gets to the beacon first.

Yeah, thats why I say don't go with all intention to get this one and just let it add up as you go. I mean, you have 100 matches to play anyway. That's ample time.

Not sure if that is a completely accurate description. At this point, per the stats screen, I have 12 beacons renewed, and I'm quite sure that I haven't had 12 last for the full 20 seconds. I'm not even sure if I've renewed/activated 12 beacons fully at all. Maybe the stats screen isn't tracking it correctly. For instance, my Blitzer teleport distance is 66435 and I've only played the Blitzer long enough to get the 585 meters, or whatever the achievement requires.

Each round of Extermination has three beacons. When playing as the soliders, you will need to renew the beacons by targeting them and using the button. Each time you restore one to full health it counts towards the total. The beacon does not have to survive until it activates, it will still count towards this trophy.

For it to count as a renew, you must renew a beacon and it must count down the full 20 seconds. If a creature damages it so that it shuts the timer off, you must renew it again. Helping repair the beacon while it's being damaged will have the beacon being renewed count as well. So the best way to get this is to try sticking around the eacon and heal it while it gets damaged.

When near the beacon, press and hold . The lighthouse is considered restored if the countdown has begun. Not the most pleasant, but not a very difficult trophy either. Over time, restore the required amount. If you restored a beacon, and the enemy destroyed it, restore it again, it will count as another one.

The hint above is not correct. Only beacons where the countdown has reached the end and an explosion occurs are counted; no more than 3 beacons can be restored during a match.
