How to unlock the The Chariot achievement in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing - Definitive Guide

This achievement is called 'The Chariot'.

Use Zobio and Zobiko to send one hundred Curien Mansion Creatures back to the grave.

You have to buy these pair from the shopping menu. Once bought go to a single race on the Outer Forest track and change the laps to 9. Now the trick is you have to take out the zombies with weapons and drift boost only. Just running into them at normal speed, which will spin you, doesn't count.

Rockets and KO gloves seemed the best weapons. Just line the zombies in your sights head-on and unleash your weapons but don't get too close as you may miss and hit the zombie with your car which will spin you instead. I generally slowed down beforehand to give me more time to take a shot.

All I did was try and kill as many zombies as possible in 9 laps then rinse and repeat the race. I got it on my 6th single race of 9 laps.

You don't have to win the race for the kills to count, just finish the race.

Update 1: Just want to add that there is no in-game tracking of the zombie hits ie under the achievements list within the License menu so just keep doing the race over and over again. Once you hit 100 the achievement will pop.

Update 2: As pointed out by Tallboy2005 (thanks) make sure you turn hazards on cause if you have them off the zombies won't appear. The option to turn hazards on/off is in the same menu where you can set the amount of laps.

No worries, x360a can have some very mis-leading guides.

Exactly what i did, and if you get a bad piwer up you can always charge up your boost from a drift and relase in front of a zombie

@necromancer2k8, fair play if you found a shorter way to do this. Maybe you should post it as a separate guide to mine.

Mumbo Jumbo - It is not technically a shorter way, just a different variation on your solution. Your method works perfect, I just decided to try it on a single race and it happened to work :)

You'll get more sega miles following Mumbo Jumbo's original suggestion but it's all about personal preference.

Also, you may want to add that if you do a single race to make sure hazards are turned on. I had them turned off and thought my game had glitched on me. But turned them on and it worked like a charm.

Just to clarify (since this is something I was worried about whilst attempting this achievement), you DON'T have to finish the race, let alone win. The achievement unlocks as you kill your 100th zombie, so there's no need to finish the race and see if you've got 100 zombies yet.

how often do the zombies respawn?

I did this in one lap. After you drive through the first set of power ups, under a bridge, there are 4 - 5 zombies to take down. Then when the track splits to go around the fountain at the second set of power ups you can get a weapon then drive back wards and pop the same couple zombies( they will respawn in the time it takes you to turn around. Continue going backwards until you reach the original set of power ups, under the bridge, grab another weapon and head down the track the right way popping those same zombies again. Took me about 20 minutes, its a lot less time in the loading screens.

I actually tried the method that necromancer mentioned but ran into an issue....repeated star power ups. U can use zobios star power to knock them over as well but make sure u start the power up behind the starting line so u can come out of it around the fountain and won't have to finish a lap. I was able to pop this achievement as well as the 20 power ups in one lap

I discovered that the two inner power up spawns at the fountain never give the All-Star item. I always got regular and useful power ups like bombs, gloves and speed shoes. So I just went there, got a power up, turned around, shot or drove through some zombies and returned to get a new item.

No, you can do it over multiple races on the same track as stated.

As a side note for anyone reading this I did it in 1 race of 9 laps (technically it could be 1 lap). On the outer forest track you will hit a long curve after the start/finish line with about 6 zombies in that area. Get the 1st powerup right under the bridge full of zombies and then use it (bombs, gloves & speed boosts are the only 3 I used for killing) until you get to the end of the zombie section where the next powerups are at. Grab one of those and then turn around and go backwards killing zombies along the way to the 1st powerup under the bridge. Rinse & repeat. I came in 8th place with a total time of over 20 minutes but it was 1 race and you can just keep getting powerups and not have to worry about anything else. The CPU racers just keep running the course until you finish so they ocassionally get in your way but it is not too big a deal.

I've tried the solutions above, but being on the last position often gives you all-star abilities when you pick up an item. And that's not easy to kill zombies the right way with. I don't know if just running over them counts for the 100 kills, as without the all-star power-up it doesn't, or if the smash the pilots do when we press A also counts. I don't know.

So what I did was to set up a game of two players, and put a second controller as the opponent. As the time is infinite, just drive Zobio and Zobiko to the set of items where zombies are a bit far forward, stay on one item and sort the power-ups you get. If it can't be thrown forward (rainbows, shields...), just use it and the bonus capsule will appear as soon as you launched the previous power-up. And if you get a missile, a bomb or a star, just go close to the enemy in front of you and launch the weapon. Horns work too.

I hit 100 zombies this way. Stay on the capsules, sort, and kill the enemies with the appropriate weapons. Took me a few minutes. And no opponent disturbed me or no time limit was able. Oh, and don't forget to put the obscales on, otherwise no zombie will be on the track.

Hope this will help some of you.

EDIT:
Don't forget to finish the race after you got this achievement, for the game to save your progression. I first quit just after getting it, but now I have to redo it because the achievement did count on my gamerscore, but not for the game. Check your achievements through the game menu, it will say that it is still unlocked (that's a secret achievement, so it will be notified as "hidden"). And it needs to be unlock in the game for the last achievement of the game to pop properly: 'unlock every other achievements'. And it's the same for all achievements. FINISH THE RACE AFTER GETTING AN ACHIEVEMENT, DON'T QUIT IT THE SECOND AFTER!!

I did it this way, too ... sort of.

I made somewhat of strafing runs from under the bridge where the first capsules are forward through four zombies, hitting what I could with weapons and car, turned around and picked up the stragglers I missed.

I found the following:

Standard hits from the car don't work, neither do hits while drifting; only vehicle hits while boosting after drifting work.

You can use the forward firing weapons (star, rocket, KO glove), however they don't auto target; the stars and rockets you need to get right up on them to fire or they will fire towards the side and go around the zombie, while the KO gloves will go to the target if your nose is pointed right at them.

While rear-firing rainbows are worthless, you can drop the cone mines next to a zombie on your strafe run ... sometimes they will take them out, sometimes they won't.

Horns work well, and so do the shield and speed-shoe. If you have the shoe, just use it to boost into the zombie; if you have the shield, activate and plow ahead (will expire after one hit).

The first thing you need to do for this achievment, is to buy the racer duo Zobio and Zobiko. If you own them, start a singleplayer race on the Outer Forest track. I recomend that you set the track options on easy and 5-9 laps, sometimes you grap the All-Star ability and you have to use bevore you can use other weapons(you can not stop with an All-Star). If the race starts go and get a weapon or use boost to kill the Zombies. You can do it as much as you want and you also can drive wrong way, because if the Zombies are dead they will come back after a fiew seconds so that you can turn around and kill them again. Now kill as many Zombies as possible till the achievment pops out. You dont have to quit the race, the kills are caunting anyway. Thats it. Have fun !!!

If you want to give a negative vote, please let me know why so i can add or change something in my solution.

Here is a suggestion. If you are going for the Golden Acts achievements I recommend you play a single race on Outer Forest, but with only one (or two) laps. That because for 1 lap if you win in 1st place the game gives you around 2000 miles, and for 9 laps 7000 miles. So, if you think a bit is better play 9 games for 1 lap = 18000 miles than 1 game for 7000 miles.
So you progress on both achievements
Good luck and sorry for my English :D.
