How to unlock the CHALLENGE MODE CLEAR achievement in Space Invaders Infinity Gene - Definitive Guide

Set the difficulty to easy and lives to 9 if you can but it's not essential as you've got infinite continues. (You'll have to play the game a bit to get the option to select 9 lives, say, complete 'Normal' on easy and then do some of the challenge levels. The game evolves as you accumulate score, giving you more weapons and options)

I use the 'Field' weapon most of the time and found it very effective. You have to start at level 1 but you do get the option to continue from the last level you were on when it's game over.

It's all fairly easy until the last few levels (90+) when there are a lot of bullets on the screen. This is because everytime you kill an alien, it fires a shot at your current position. Circling the screen can help and some times not firing at all.

The thing I found that helps the most is that if you get a difficult boss at the end of a level and you die, do NOT continue when asked. Instead, choose 'NO' and then select the level you were just playing and you'll get a different boss at the end (most are pretty easy).

It takes a little while to get through all 99 levels (a couple of hours) but this little tip will make it much easier and a lot less frustrating. The achievement will pop when you are getting the stats for completing level 99. Good luck!

I just timed a level and they are generally well under 3 minutes. The normal section of the level is about one minute usually, and the boss about the same (some can be a lot quicker and some a bit slower). So I'd guess you are probably looking at 4 hrs vs 6

A quick note about the length - this is surprisingly long. Even if every level lasted 3 minutes each you'd be looking at about 300 minutes for this - which is more a chore because the game is repetitive in longer sessions. My advice; see how far 9 credits will get you every time you power up the game and play other things all the meanwhile. Makes this much more pleasant and I personally this helped abstain me from being burnt out on the game.

To add to Beanpotter's solution:

-Difficulty doesn't affect this mode. Ship-count does, though.

-The last few levels (90+) are in Insane Difficulty, which means destroyed enemies leave a bullet going to your direction.
To not die here, chose the Classic Weapon (the one hit kill for the bosses, mainly) and simply dont shoot only what actually attacks you on screen. Evade everything and you won't even have to continue here.

-If you play with the Field, like I did mostly, remember that you can change your weapon on the boss by simply suiciding and then picking something more suitable (usually the Classic one that one hit kills). Alternatively, you can sit the bosses out.
This is especially useful on the Water Strider boss - just hug the lower right corner and then wait about 7 minutes.

How does ship-count affect this mode? I didn't think it mattered how many you had. Good tip on the Water Strider boss, it can be a pain in the ass.

ship-count affects it, unless you have 9 by default, then it doesn't.
I'm not at my 360 right now to check this back, so if anyone would be so kind?

Long, but quite simple. As in normal mode, the game is saved before boss fights, so you can always change weapons if you wish. By the way, the “Classic” weapon has crushing firepower, which is indispensable in battles with “fat” bosses. Difficulties may arise when passing the last ten tests. Enemies start shooting when they explode, that is, if you destroy a whole crowd of invaders at once, about three hundred charges will fly at you, which will be very difficult to avoid. The "Gravity" weapon will solve this problem
