How to unlock the Spider Snagger Supreme achievement in Spider-Man: Edge of Time - Definitive Guide

The golden spiders come in three types: collectable (those inside the level that you can pick up,) combat (Those that you have to defeat all enemies in a specific area to get,) and challenge (where you have to get a gold medal on a challenge to get.)
Since the first guide on here is missing stuff and the other I cant get to work, this is a written guide that you can use. Very informative and descriptive. This is not my own creation simply a repost of Tyger7s work on another site.

Well this guide is fairly old and I no longer have the game to go back and check to see if I wrote out the wrong thing, so you do what ya gotta do for the achievement TNC.

Okay, so it's been 4 months since this game came out, and clearly VideoGames Blogger is NOT going to be finishing their guide. So, for those of you who are at Level 13 and beyond, here is the guide I used from the writers at IGN.com.

http://www.ign.com/wikis/spider-man-edge-of-time

There's some video there, but seriously, it's pretty well written so that you should be able to find most of the final spiders just from the text. There are a couple of confusing ones, but they'll at least put you in the general vicinity. Happy hunting!

(Credit for video guide goes to videogamesblogger.com user Steve)

(The Video Guide is not finished the guide has chapter's 1-12 missing 13-16.)

Here is an entire Video Guide to all hidden spider locations.
on top of finding all the Hidden spiders you will get 1 spider for getting Gold in each challenge.
For the combat spiders when you get to a cluster of enemys you will know you can get a combat gold spider there b/c the spider counter will pop up and flash red.

(The Video Guide is not finished the guide has chapter's 1-12 missing 13-16.)

Golden Spiders can be found while exploring your surroundings, after you defeat groups of enemies in specific locations or when you’ve earned a gold medal in the Web of Challenges. When you are near a Golden Spider hidden in the environment a Spider Tracker will start blinking. The closer Spider-Man gets, the faster it goes. Whenever you're in combat and the Spider Tracker blinks red. It simply means that you can obtain a Golden Spider by defeating all the enemies in the combat. There are a total of 160 Golden Spiders in the game. Golden Spiders are mainly used for upgrading the Spider-Man's Health, Shield/Health Regeneration, and Stamina & Overdrive Regeneration. For a complete list of all the Golden Spiders locations, please refer to the Golden Spider Locations. Below is a brief listing on how to obtain the Golden Spiders:

  1. Hidden Golden Spiders:
    • Found while exploring your surrounding environments. The Spider Tracker will blink yellow here and will blink fast as you get closer to it's precise location.
  2. Combat Golden Spiders:
    • Obtained by simply defeating all the enemies in certain combat battles. The Spider Tracker will blink red here.
  3. Web of Challenge Gold Spiders:
    • Obtain a Gold Medal in certain (mainly all) Web of Challenges.

Obtaining golden spiders is actually fairly simple.

Whenever you get near a golden spider, the game will display an icon of the spider in the top right hand corner of the screen. The icon will flash slower, or faster, depending on how close you are to it. Basically it is a game of "hot and cold". That is just for golden spiders kicking around on walls, behind doors, etc.

There are also golden spiders available by defeating all enemies in an area. If you see the golden spider icon appear in your corner, but instead of flashing yellow it flashes red, then you need to eliminate all enemies to earn the spider.

Lastly, you earn golden spiders by achieving at least a silver medal in the Web of Challenges (although there is a trophy associated with earning gold medals, so your best bet is to go for the top spot wink).

There are 92 golden spiders to obtain during the campaign (either hidden OR combat related). After you beat the game you can go to the chapter select screen to see which hidden spiders you have acquired per chapter, and what you are missing.

The Web of Challenges are comprised of 3 sections based on campaign chapter. Each section has 4 groups, with anywhere between 3 to 5 challenges per group. Each sections contains anywhere between 16 and 18 challenges to be completed.

Remember: in order to obtain the golden spider from the challenges, you need at least a silver medal.

After everything is said and done, and you have maxed out your Spider-Men (meaning you have obtained all upgrades that require the golden spiders), you will still need 32 more golden spiders in order to obtain this trophy.

You must collect 3 types of spiders. These are spiders for challenges, for battles (that is, when you reach the point where you hit enemy faces, the indicator starts flashing red) and hidden spiders (the indicator flashes yellow). The trophy is difficult...

Here's a video to help:

an easy trophy, because when you are next to a spider, the indicator on the right blinks, the closer you are, the stronger it blinks... if it blinks red, then you need to destroy all the enemies in the location and then you will get your treasured spider

In addition to the spiders collected in the game, you need to complete all the challenges. For each challenge completed for gold, you get a spider. So the trophy is not so simple.

The trophy is actually not difficult. Just follow the video guide and preferably collect it on normal on your first playthrough. Because On the second playthrough I had to re-look at the places where I collected, because... I didn’t remember everything, especially the spiders from the battle. What makes the trophy especially easy is that you can select any chapter in the menu, and most importantly it says how many spiders are in the level and how many you missed. The order of spiders may differ from video guides. Plus, they launched the chapter, took the spider and you can immediately leave.
P.S. Maybe someone is dumb like me. I couldn’t find the spider and thought it was a glitch. Chapter 9, the very last spider in the elevator shaft. According to the plot, you will go into the mine and I thought that I took the spider there during the first playthrough, but it turned out not. The problem is that there were 2 shafts and you need to go into the shaft a little further. (Before jumping behind Mer-jane in the elevator)
