How to unlock the Spectacular!!! achievement in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions - Definitive Guide

You must get a platinum metal on all 3 different classes for each level which are combo rating , clear time, and emblems collected. The following info was taking from the Brady games Official Strategy Guide

Kraven: 19,000 Combo - 35 Emblems - 20:00 Clear
Hammerhead: 19,000 Combo - 20 Emblems - 25:00 Clear
Hobgoblin: 19,000 Combo - 25 Emblems - 20:00 Clear
Electro: 19,000 Combo - 45 Emblems - 20:00 Clear
Sandman: 19,000 Combo - 50 Emblems - 25:00 Clear
Vulture: 19,000 Combo - 30 Emblems - 35 :00 Clear
Scorpion: 19,000 Combo - 60 Emblems - 30:00 Clear
Deadpool: 19,000 Combo - 105 Emblems - 35:00 Clear
Juggernaught: 19,000 Combo - 60 Emblems - 35:00 Clear
Goblin: 19,000Combo - 20 Emblems - 35:00 Clear
Doctor Octopus: 19,000 Combo - 45 Emblems - 35:00 Clear
Carnage: 19,000 Combo - 45 Emblems - 35:00 Clear
Mysterio: 19,000 Combo - 12 Emblems - 20:00 Clear

Those are the scores to beat for each level but keep in mind you do NOT have to do all at once per level. You can do multiple runs like say beat sandmans once for collactables platinum then play it again to get speed and combos platinum.

is it like that other guy said, are the metals accumulative? so if you get to platinums and one bronze it saves the two platinums and you only have to go back and try and get a platinum on to replace the bronze one you got?

yes sir , im my opinion its easier to take your time and get the emblems and combos on your first run then do a 2nd run to rush the level for the time medal

Anyone who knows how I can raise the combo rating in the level with Hammerhead? There is so few enemies I can hit so it's really hard to achieve the combo rating.

the only real combo advice i can give is use as much variation as possible never stick to the same ones and use the more complex combos like the one name 8 legged something

You need to get at least one second under the times listed here, as they're times to beat. I unfortunately discovered the hard way that getting the exact time is only worth a gold medal. Don't be like me.

I only played the game on Hard mode, can you get the platinum medals on easy and have the game beaten on hard for this to pop? Because someone said the beat mysterio in 11 minutes and I think that's INFREAKINGSANE for a Hard mode boss fight.

I found that I could do speed runs of some levels, including Deadpool, and ignore most non-essential enemies while somehow still getting a Platinum combo score. I have no idea how but I would suggest doing the speed run first and you just might grab the combo medal by accident. This happened for a few other levels as well.

@SemanticV0id this is true, I did (3) play throughs on Deadpool's level on Hard.
1. For combos and emblems - only got a platinum on for emblems and a silver for combos since it only scored 14K.
2. I only went for the combo's - I went for every enemy on this level, still only capped out at around 14K for combo.
3. Speed run - I sped run through the level and only focused on necessary enemies, but only used the YYY combo and this easily put my over 20k combo score. Seems like time is a factor when going for a higher combo score on the Dead pool level.

I believe in all of the missions you can get all 3 platinum medals on one run. I was able to do it on all missions except for Electro, (missed the combo requirement somehow even though I killed all enemies), Doc Oc, & Carnage. I missed the time requirement on Doc Oc and Carnage because I was also doing Web of Destiny challenges on my initial hard run on those missions.

To rack up a good combo score you don't need to vary the combos, it's just that some combos are worth more points than others. I'm going through the game mopping up the platinums I missed on my first playthrough & spamming the "Y Y Y" combo and nothing else has completely blitzed the combo requirement on the first three levels I've replayed.

I found this tip on a website elsewhere when I was collating various tips for this acahievement, and was sceptical at first, but I've scored nearly double the combo requirement using only the Y Y Y combo on three levels now so it looks good to me.

Rabid fuzzle: No, you have to get the platinum medal on the hard difficulty. I don't think you can get platinum on the lower difficulties, gold is the highest.

use the Y Y Y approach that was mentioned above. I tested it out earlier and it worked like a charm on the levels I didn't have the combo's on already, even with Rage mode

This achievement is actually really easy with the exception of a few boss battles. The general strategy indeed boils down to quickly going through each level spamming the cn_Ycn_Ycn_Y combo on all enemies and picking up every Emblem you see along the way. When trying to speedrun through a level, remember to quit out and select "Continue" from main menu if you feel you didn't get through a specific section fast enough. You'll be able to start back at the most recent checkpoint with your original time up to that point intact! You don't ever really need to start an entire level over again with this trick.

In fact, you can actually quite easily get all 3 platinum medals in one go for most of the stages. For any levels that have a platinum clear time of 35 minutes, you'll also have plenty of time to snag enough collectibles for the Emblem platinum without having to even rush that much. Most of the quotas are quite lenient. The stages with 30+ minute time requirements for platinum include: Vulture, Scorpion, Deadpool, Juggernaut, Goblin, Doc Oc, and Carnage. These ones should be easy to triple platinum. Just be diligent in picking up enough emblems along the way and only use the cn_Ycn_Ycn_Y combo.

However, for some of the earlier levels, you might want to get the 3 platinum medals on separate playthroughs. For instance, Electro's level has a very strict clear time requirement at 20 minutes so you might want to aim for that platinum on it's own run while totally ignoring picking up any Emblems. The collectible platinum for Scorpion's level can also be easily missed if you don't search diligently enough. Finally, the platinum for the combo on Carnage's level is also easy to miss if you don't take the time to spam the cn_Ycn_Ycn_Y combo on most of the optional enemies. These are the only levels that gave me slight trouble.

That said, I only really had to earn the 3 platinum medals in multiple runs for just a few levels. Just make sure you know how to beat the bosses and it shouldn't be too difficult. Since you only need to triple platinum 12 of the 13 levels, I skipped getting the 3 platinums on the final Mysterio level.

This is for getting 12 platinum medals in the game. You can get a platinum overall medal for each level, and there are 13 levels in the game (tutorial does not count), so you have one level as "buffer" that you can skip.

Platinum is only attainable on the hard difficulty setting. Note that to get an overall platinum for a level you need to platinum three separate criteria: combo, collectables, and time. Note however (and this is key) you do NOT have to get all three in one go, you can do each in 3 separate playthroughs of a level. Personally I went for combo & collectables on my first playthrough of most levels, and then did time on a 2nd playthrough.

For combos (**edit see note at end of solution**), generally once you have it the eight legged fury combo (hold Y to put a guy in the air, then X X Y X on the guy in the air) will score huge points. Additionally (and much easier), milking the Y Y Y combo works for most levels. Basically for the most part I just went through killing as much as I could using the Y Y Y combo and for most levels that was enough. There seems to be a bit of controversy over how exactly combo score is calculated, but I can confirm milking the same combo for an entire level DOES work. Some of the Noir levels are a bit tricky for this as there's very little combat (hitting B for takedown on a guy doesn't affect combo score). For each level, the required combo score for a platinum is 19,000.

Collectable platinums are generally very easy, if you turn on spidey sense (up on the D-pad) you will see a yellow aura around spidey emblems, so just get the required amount as mentioned below for each level. Note that hidden spiders do NOT count for the collectable plats, only spider emblems. Some of the 2099 levels can be hard to spot the emblems on, so just take your time and be thorough (hence the suggestion to do time on a separate playthrough).

Time runs are the trickiest. Most levels aren't too bad for time requirements, each level is outlined below. Note that there is one very important trick to exploit on time trials: if you screw up a section you can quit to the main menu and pick continue level and you'll resume from the last saved checkpoint (the only exception is the Mysterio level, which you have to do in a single run, there are no checkpoints). This is *critical* for many of the time trials, as it makes them *much* easier. As such I've pointed out for most of the levels (I didn't start making notes until partway through Act 1) what my time was on my run for each checkpoint in the level. This can give you an idea if you're doing reasonably well or if you're better of quitting to the main menu and resuming a section. Probably the hardest time trial was actually Electro (surprisingly since it came early). Mysterio (if you choose to do this level) is another tough one as you can't resume from a checkpoint.

The specific criteria for each platinum is outlined below, along with my checkpoint times (again, combo scores are 19,000 for every level):

Kraven (par time 20:00, 35 emblems)

Hammerhead (par time 25:00, 20 emblems)

Hobgoblin (par time 20:00, 25 emblems)

Electro (par time 20:00, 45 emblems):
1st checkpoint (before saving workers) 1:24
2nd chekcpoint (after saving workers) 2:28
3rd checkpoint (after 1st electro battle) 4:41
4th checkpoint (before dam) 5:24
5th checkpoint 6:32
6th checkpoint (before 2nd electro battle) 7:27
7th checkpoint (after 2nd electro battle) 9:52
8th checkpoint (before saving workers) 12:13
9th checkpoint (before last battle) 16:07
end: 18:37

Sandman (par time 25:00, 50 emblems):
1st checkpoint (after 1st battle with Sandman) 2:39
2nd checkpoint (after 1st 3 sand guys & entering 1st outside area) 3:20
3rd checkpoint (at start of 1st mineshaft) 4:51
4th checkpoint (after 2nd battle & upon entering 2nd outside area) 7:50
5th checkpoint (after finishing 2nd outside area & entering indoor area) 11:44
6th checkpoint (after mineshaft, and at start of final sandman battle) 15:51
end: 18:10

Scorpion (par time 30:00, 60 emblems):
1st checkpoint (after using egg to melt 1st door) 2:03
2nd checkpoint (after saving 2 scientists & opening door) 5:36
3rd checkpoint (before 1st scorpion battle) 6:42
4th checkpoint (after 1st scorpion battle) 8:27 (under 2 mins is a challenge)
5th checkpoint (at big battle in front of door for 4 min challenge) 12:09
6th checkpoint (at top of tower where you get the "On Thin Ice" challenge) 15:29
Note the above section is timed, you always have about 2:30 before scorpion shows up. It *might* be worth just hiding in an alcove for the time.
7th checkpoint (at start of last scorpion battle) 17:59
end: 22:08

Deadpool (par time 35:00, 105 emblems):
1st checkpoint (after 1st set of cameras destroyed) 1:47
2nd checkpoint (after 2nd set of cameras destroyed, before 1st deadpool battle) 4:57
3rd checkpoint (after 1st deadpool battle) 7:25
4th checkpoint (after steam tunnel) 7:56
5th checkpoint (after 1st set of cameras destroyed) 9:43
6th checkpoint (after 3rd set of cameras destroyed & start of 2nd commercial break) 13:21
7th checkpoint (before "surfing" section where "Staying Dry" challenge is awarded) 15:28
8th checkpoint (at start of last Deadpool battle) 16:43
end: 19:46

Juggernaut (par time 35:00, 60 emblems):
1st checkpoint (after 1st battle) 2:26
2nd checkpoint (at start of 1st juggy throwing area after 1st shield guy battle) 6:56
3rd checkpoint (after breaking wall & entering room with lots of gunners) 9:28
4th checkpoint (after cutsscene of Juggy in tunnel) 10:30
5th checkpoint (after saving 3 workers & going past flaming tunnel) 11:37
6th checkpoint (at last battle with Juggy (after the punching scene) 12:49
end: 16:23

Goblin (par time 35:00, 20 emblems):
1st checkpoint (after saving 1st set of hostages) 5:12
2nd checkpoint (after entering tent after 1st goblin fight) 5:48
3rd checkpoint (after leaving tent after 2nd goblin fight) 8:46
4th checkpoint (after escaping funny mask room) 11:46
5th checkpoint (after drugged fight, then climbing wall, and entering tunnel) 13:24
6th checkpoint (after 3rd goblin fight) 14:06
7th checkpoint (at start of final goblin fight) 14:34
End: 20:47

Doc Ock (par time 35:00, 45 emblems)
1st checkpoint (after 1st tunnel section & cutscene after) 0:36
2nd checkpoint (after 1st group of enemies) 2:08
3rd checkpoint (after beating 1st arm) 3:50
4th checkpoint (after leaving 1st core area) 6:42
5th checkpoint (after enemies in front of door) 7:52
6th checkpoint (after 1st small room where self-destruct guys beam in) 8:54
7th checkpoint (after saving 3 scientists hidden behind walls) 13:09
8th checkpoint (after leaving small "ambush" room where Doc Ock won't shut up) 14:15
9th checkpoint (after beating 2nd arm) 15:01
10th checkpoint (after finishing 2nd "ambush" room) 15:42
11th checkpoint (after reaching hologram) 17:52
12th checkpoint (after escaping with scientist past flame wave) 18:45
13th checkpoint (at entering final doc ock battle) 18:58
14th checkpoint (after 1st part of dock ock battle) 20:18
end: 22:14

Carnage (par time 35:00, 45 emblems)
I found carnage to be tough to get platinum combo on, so I instead did Mysterio.

Mysterio (par time 20:00, 12 emblems)
Note there are no "exitable" checkpoints in this level. You have to do the entire level in one go. For the collectables, there are 6 in the first (Noir) area, and 9 in the final (Amazing) area (look up on the tops of the archways)
My time: 16:26

*** -- notes about combo score. Personally I milked the YYY combo on most levels and found that was sufficient to score over 19K on most levels. Having said that, others (most notably EMPATH1C MIM1C in the comments) pointed out a common theory that combo score is based upon not only getting a long combo string, but also varying the combo's you use. The manual for the game only mentions the following (rather vague) comment about combo score:

"Combo Rating -- Performing various combo types and long combo strings during combat will earn you a higher medal"

So put another way, you can try the YYY combo, but YMMV, so feel free to try varying the combos as well, K? :D

All of this info has been extremely helpful in my attempt to get all 1000 points out of this game before sending it back to Gamefly. Thanks especially @Pedle Zelnip about this timing info, most of the Noir levels have been giving me sooo much trouble. Specifically the Goblin level. I have gotten the first part (where you're saving hostages) down to a science- I can save all the hostages and get through the first first person fistfight w/ Goblin in like 04:30, but for some godd@mn reason when the next part starts- where you walk into the tent w/ the bouncy ball- there's a solid curtain in front of the door that I can't walk through. Is there something I don't know here like maybe I'm going TOO fast? Needless to say this is aggravating as hell. This game is good but seriously, it glitches out like this way too much in way too many different ways. Thank goodness I only rented it.

EDIT- I broke out all of my video capture crap to film this nonsense, and guess what? All of a sudden, with film rolling, the level finally played out like it should- without the infuriating glitches. Scumbag Spiderman...

Only part of the manual that refers to this is the Level Ratings section which reads:

"Combo Rating -- Performing various combo types and long combo strings during combat will earn you a higher medal"

So you could be right. I'll update the solution. Thx!

Great guide. I can confirm MIM1C is full of shit. I just spammed YYY, avoided most fights, and I NEVER scored under 23K on ANY level. Now just gotta mop up speed runs.

>> The combo rating is based on 2 things: combo variety and successive hits

I've seen this on other sites, and also seen others say this isn't true. Are you basing this on just your experience, or do you have a more authoritative source?

Again, for myself, I almost never did anything *but* YYY and almost always scored over 19K.

Thanks for this. Just finished Sandman about 2 minutes slower than you because I had trouble with the first fight. It was good to know I still had room to succeed.

You seem to be missing Vulture, which other solutions say needs 30 emblems and 35:00 par time.

When going for combos, I usually just spam YYY and Y+B, with a bit of BB Web Strike and Slams. Maybe the BA Web Strike and Evade also helps since I use that a lot. It's a rather mysterious scoring system. The Cosmic charge attack apparently does not help at all. On my Hammerhead speed run, I only used the Cosmic charge and got 0 combo score!

Also, on Scorpion, I don't think you can sit out the rooftop battle. I waited about 3 minutes, killing no one, and Scorpion never came. I played again and he appeared after I killed a second big guy. So perhaps he's triggered by killing 2 big guys or by a certain number of hits.

Just to add to this, I wanted to say that when you are on the Goblin level and you get to the room with the clown faces, it can be tricky to find which door is the correct door. You want to look for the door that has one of the eyes twitching like the rest and the other eye twitching at twice the other eyes speed. It may take some time to figure out but you will notice it once you see it in front of you.

*ELECTRO COMBO RATING SOLUTION*
Okay so people have been having troubles getting a high combo rank in the Electro level. My highest combo score is 22 007. This is how I got it; okay what I did was I only used the Y Y Y strong attack throughout the whole level...... bosses and everything! Not once did I use rage. Even for the 1 hit enemies(blue, green, red creatures) I used the Y Y Y strong attack. I never even touched the X button once. Follow this and you will 100% get platinum on the Combo Rating. Good Luck and enjoy! :) :)

This is one of the hardest trophies. You'll need to get a platinum (and no less) in each of the 3 categories. The categories are:

Combo Rating: Which can be achieved by just doing the combo (thanks to DISCOKING for informing me). The amount of hits does not matter.

Spider emblems: Which if it's close to the max number, you'll get it (usually 1 or 2 off 0 in the Scorpion level I got 15 less and still got it... so it varies). You can find out the max by going to the pause menu and looking at the number on the left.

Quickest Time: Which can be achieved by doing the level as fast as possible. Some levels are harder to do this than others. You'll need to be comfortable with the level before you even try it.

Each of those categories can be satisfied on their own runs. Meaning 1 run for combat, 1 run for emblems, and 1 run for time. Then in the Level Select screen, you'll notice that each of them save and will add to your overall rank.

For those who don't like to read: You need THREE PLATINUMS to get the PLATINUM OVERALL RANK. Gold is not the highest rank, platinum is. Remember, this must also be done on Hard, not Easy or Normal. Platinum is the whitest medal, not to be confused with silver which is more grey.

Here are the potential scores you need for platinums:

Combo Rating - I would suggest 19,000 or more (some can have as little as 18,000). That is what I got whenever I received a platinum.

Spider Emblems - Depends on the level, try to get as many as you can. The Scorpion level, I got 15 less than the max (which can be viewed in the pause menu) and still got the platinum. Just try to get as many as possible. Use Spider-Sense all the time to make sure you can get as many as possible.

Quickest Time - Again, depends on the level. Usually aim between 20-25 minutes (remember, those are the maxes - if you can get lower than that number, always try to do it).

Here is what you need, thanks to BreadSkin:

Kraven
Combo Rating - 19,000+
Emblems - 35+
Clear Time - 20 minutes or less

Hammerhead
Combo Rating - 19,000+

You need not only to complete the entire game on a difficult level, but also to receive platinum medals for all missions. There are 3 of them in total - completion time, points and, in my opinion, emblems. Do not confuse silver with platinum, silver is silver, and platinum is WHITE, make no mistake.

Well, in general, in general, how much and for how long should you do it:

Kraven Combo Rating - 19,000 + Emblems - 35 + Completion Time - 20 minutes or less
Hammerhead Combo Rating - 19,000 + Emblems - 20 + Completion Time - 25 minutes or less
Hobgoblin Combo Rating - 19,000 + Emblems - 25 + Completion Time - 20 minutes or less
Electro Combo Rating - 19,000 + Emblems - 45 + Completion Time - 20 minutes or less
Sandman Combo Rating - 19,000 + Emblems - 50 + Completion Time - 25 minutes or less
Vulture Combo Rating - 19,000 + Emblems - 30 + Completion Time - 35 minutes or less
Scorpio Combo Rating - 19,000 + Emblems - 60 + Completion Time - 30 minutes or less
Deadpool Combo Rating - 19,000 + Emblems - 105 + Completion Time - 35 minutes or less
Juggernaut Combo Rating - 19,000 + Emblems - 60 + Completion Time - 35 minutes or less
Goblin Combo Rating - 19,000 + Emblems - 20 + Completion Time - 35 minutes or less
Doc Oc Combo Rating - 19,000 + Emblems - 45 + Completion Time - 35 minutes or less
Carnage Combo Rating - 19,000 + Emblems - 45 + Completion Time - 35 minutes or less
Mysterio Combo Rating - 19,000 + Emblems - 12 + Completion Time - 20 minutes or less

A few rather important points, not mentioned anywhere in the tips:
1. The tip above describes the conditions for obtaining platinum in 13 tasks. You only need to complete 12 to get the trophy.
2. It is not necessary to get all the platinums in ONE playthrough. For example, while completing the game for the first time on hard, in one of the tasks you received platinum for combos and emblems, but for time - silver. In this case, when replaying, you only need to get platinum for the time, you can forget about the other conditions.
3. To get the most points for combos in Ultimate Spider-Man missions, try not to use rage. Ideally, you should never use the button at all. in these missions. Otherwise, you will dial less than 19,000, personally verified.

The trophy is not as difficult as it seems at first glance. You need to complete levels against the clock, badges and combos, all on hard to get platinum. For a while it’s easy to pass, we break through wherever possible. Collect a little more for icons than what is said in Web of destiny. And combos. The easiest way is to press it will work 100%. If somewhere it was not possible to get platinum for something, you can repeat it, it will be counted as completely completed with a high rating.
