How to unlock the Leading The Way achievement in Split/Second - Definitive Guide

Most of you might be on here looking for a way to deal with a particular challenge, mainly, the "Ryback Thunder Challenge".

Well to make the challenge a whole lot easier, when the race starts, hold the breaks and reverse.
This should bring up a big red X on the screen, go far back enough and the game should rest you at the starting line, but going at full speed.

The reason why this is so advantageous because as you reverse, the timer doesn't start and also, it shaves 2 seconds off your timer instantly.

This also works on all detonator challenges.

correction, this only works on most of the tracks, some you have to do a slight turn to make sure the car doesn't cross the starting line.

This only works on the first challenge. The other vehicles are so fast that even if you hold down the brake, you will go over the starting line.

Hold down LT and the left thumbstick all the way to the right or left. In some of them, not all of them, you will still stop before starting line...Worked for me throught the first six

Took about 20mins worth of tries to end up with 1:20:91. Didn’t use the trick at the start, but I definitely bounced off walls and drifted like crazy

The tip is useful, but it’s pretty funny this solution has been posted for many years and nobody’s pointed out that “Ryback Thunder Challenge” is not part of this achievement. The bonus rounds are the ones that get unlocked by wrecking opponents, and are usually (always I think? It’s been too long…) the penultimate race in each episode. They’re not the same as the named vehicle challenges. See the solution for “Moving Ahead” which lists them. I just popped this achievement without “Ryback Thunder Challenge” just to confirm.

Bonus rounds are opened for points, takedowns, etc. You just need to open everything and win.
