How to unlock the Blimp Buster achievement in Stacking - Definitive Guide

Here's a walkthrough of each Zeppelin of Consequence challenge. You can get as much or little help as you want. Either just read the bold title of the scenario, move onto the italicized hints, or just read the full walkthrough. Your choice.

"Get Rid of the Gas" - Air Exchange Room

1) A Blast of Sweet Air
-Sweet overcomes stink.
-Her scent can freshen an entire room.
-Use Felicity Fowler to pass potpourri into the stink cloud.

You'll need Felicity Fowler (size 3). She's the lady in the pink dress standing near the Fan Service Room/Air Exchange Room signs in the Dining Room. Just take her, aim her behind at the stink cloud trapping the ambassador, and let loose her wonderful smelling farts.

2) Opera Sucks
-She inhales before exhaling.
-People gather to hear her high note.
-Wilhelmina can suck the stink from the room by singing near it.

Go out into the dining room and get Prima Donna Wilhelmina (size 5). She's the opera singer with the traditional viking helmet on, surrounded by paparazzi. When she sings, she takes a DEEP breath beforehand. So, have her inhale the stink cloud.

3) Override Up High
-The door can be opened from the inside to allow the floater in.
-Take Charlie into the fan service room and use the largest maintenance man to open the door.
-Stack a small maintenance man into the balloon waiter, float up near the fans, and then maintain the panel.

First, squeeze into the Fan Service Room next to the room where the ambassador is trapped. Stack into the largest maintenance man (size 3) and "maintain" the door open using the panel next to it. Then, unstack to the smallest maintenance man (size 1) and stack into the balloon waiter (size 2) nearby. Head back into the Fan Service Room and "fly to station" while standing on the floor vent. Unstack to the smaller maintenance man and "maintain" the nearby panel to turn off the fan, stopping the offending odor.

4) Bun in the Oven
-The stink is a hazard that requires the right suit.
-In the suit, transport the one who can smash things.
-Stack the Purse lady into the Hazard Suit, cross the stink, and use her to smash the fan shut-off.

Across from the Air Exchange Room where the stink is, there is an Emergency Room. In front of the entrance, there is a lady with a purse (size 3) that you need to stack into. Then, inside the Emergency Room is a Hazard Suit (size 4) that you also need. Cross through the stink cloud, unstack to the purse lady, and "purse smash" the button behind glass nearby to shut the fan off.

"Break Out of the Brig" - Makeshift Brig (Unlocked after getting ambushed near the Summit Room)

(NOTE: From the comments I've seen below and after some research, it seems this area is glitched if you come back after completing this level, so it's recommended you clear things up before moving on.)

1) Out of the Frying Pan
-He keeps his cool in hot situations.
-The heat is blocking a way out.
-The Fire Chief can put out the fire and Charlie can leave through the chimney.

First, stack into Fire Chief Russell (size 2), the nearby firefighter, and "spray hose" water on the fire. Use Charlie to squeeze through the small opening in the back of the chimney. After noticing Charlie's gone, the Baron's goons will burst in, allowing the ambassador to escape.

2) Birdman of Brig
-When one falls they all do.
-Fly away.
-Knock over the dominoes with the large doll, stack in the bird, and fly up to the nest.

Start by stacking into the large steward (size 3) near the door. Using his massive bulk, walk into the nearby dominoes, setting off a chain reaction and knocking over some food. This will attract a pelican (size 1) from up high. "Fly to nest" and walk out the hole to send the goons in looking for you.

3) Slip Up
-The guard has been known to slip and fall.
-Roll it in his way before honking for the guard.
-Push the roller skate with the large doll and then honk the guard horn using Charlie.

Using the large steward (size 3), push the roller skate into place in front of the door. Unstack to Charlie and honk the horn over near the wall for the guard to come in. He'll run in, trip, and you escape.

"Stop that Car" - Racetrack

1) Photo Finish
-A picture is worth a thousand words.
-Animals are easily startled by flashing lights.
-Use the Press Photographer to take a flash photo of the monkey driving the car.

Stack into a press photographer (size 3) and "flash photo" the monkey in the car as it drives by. The monkey'll panic, crash the car, and the ambassador will be freed.

2) Braking for Bananas
-The machine is stuck and must be pumped before they can get their food.
-Once they have their trays filled, why not toss one out?
-Use Charlie to stack into the banana feeder and pump it, then stack a banana vendor and throw one onto the track.

As Charlie, go to the banana feeder's pump (to the right of the area surrounded huge bananas), stack onto it, and "pump bellows" a couple times to fix the banana feeder, resupplying the vendors in the area. After they all come running, stack into a banana vendor (size 4) and "toss banana" onto the track. The monkeys will stop the car to have some grub.

3) Call to Arms
-To send them into a frenzy, his horn must be amplified.
-The announcer must be distracted to move out of the way.
-Use a maintenance man to shut off the nearby power panel and then use the bugle to play into the announcer horn.

To start, go up to the upper level and stack into the bugle player (size 2) and the maintenance man (size 3) standing near the entrance to the catwalk. "Maintain" the pulley system behind the announcer on said catwalk to shut off the power and distract him from his spot. Next, unstack to the bugle player and "play bugle" into the loudspeaker to freak the monkeys out.

4) Rabbit Takes Chimp
-A timed stack with a canine friend will have Charlie on the track.
-Repeatedly press the button so the dog runs fast enough to reach the car.
-Charlie can stack in a dog, the rabbit on the back of the car, two monkeys and then apply the brakes.

As Charlie, go up to the platform on either end of the track. As the dogs come running by stack into dog #4 (size 1), the nearest one. Then, just "fast run" until you catch up to the car. At the back of the car is a bunny (size 2) you can stack into. From there, stack into the monkey (size 3) above you powering the car, and then into the driver monkey (size 4). Just "apply brakes" to bring the car to a stop.

5) Action Flag
-From up high, he can be directed to wave.
-With a wave of his flag, he can be directed to end the race.
-Use the Silent Film Director to direct the flag bearer on the catwalk to wave the victory flag.

Over between the banana feeder and the zipline is a silent-film director named Cecil Dumheal (size 5) whom you need to stack into. Go up to the catwalk and yell "Action!" at the flag bearer. He'll wave the flag frantically to impress you, causing the monkeys to stop because they think the race is over.

"Get Mr. Ruffles" - Outside Summit Room (unlocked after completing the Zeppelin of Consequence adventure)

1) Needle in a Doll Stack
-To guess where it is, talk to the right bully.
-Watch the bear closely when they shuffle.
-After the bullies shuffle, talk to the bully who has the bear.

More or less, just guess or watch closely when they shuffle and talk to whomever you think has the bear. If you guess wrong, they'll reshuffle. Straightforward.

2) Peek-a-Bully
-Don't judge a book by its cover.
-Smash, surprise, or feed; it's all the same.
-Feed the bullies a banana to see which one has the bear and then talk to him.

First, you must have completed scenario 2 of the "Stop that Car" challenge. Nearby, there'll be a banana vendor (size 4) to stack into. Then, just "toss banana" at each bully to peek inside of them as they catch the fruit. Simply talk to whoever has it and you're set.

3) Marked Men
-Their shuffling is easier to follow if you mark them first.
-The mighty pen or the official seal, either will mark.
-Use one of the nearby ambassadors to mark the dolls and then talk to the bully who has the bear.

First, stack into either Ambassador Osman (size 2) or Ambassador Log (size 3), who're both standing nearby, and use their official seal or pen, respectively, to mark a bully. Next, grab the other ambassador and mark yet another bully. After they shuffle, it should be fairly easy to tell who's who.

"Open the Gate" - Baggage Check, Outside Crew Quarters

1) Gate Wedgie
-Challenge the big man with a ring of his bell.
-Yank up!
-Give the bell the Northern Kiss and then use Cromwell to give the gate a Royal Wedgie.

You'll need to stack into the nearby Scottish fellow (size 4) with a red beard. Go to the ring bell and use "The Northern Kiss" to ring it. After he jumps out of the ring and gives a jolly good wedgie, stack into Cromwell the Terrible (size 5). Then, just use give the gate a good ole "Royal Wedgie" to free the ambassador.

2) Shaken Up
-The wrench can lower the lever.
-The lever must be properly shaken.
-Use a maintenance man on the outside panel and then use a passenger to give the lever a firm handshake.

First, go into the Crew Quarters and search out a maintenance man (size 2 or 3) to stack into. Next, "maintain" the panel next to the gate to cause a hand-tipped lever to pop out. Over near the Crew Quarters entrance next to the ring is a stately gentleman (size 3) speaking with a steward you need to stack into. Go to the exposed lever and give it "a firm handshake".

3) Inside Job
-Her colorful attire can attract a flying friend.
-Use Portia's fan to attract the peacock, stack inside, and fly up to the nest.
-Fall from the nest to down behind the gate and use the maintenance man to maintain the panel.

Head into the Crew Quarters with a second floor and head up the stairs. At the top, you'll find Portia Peacock (size 3) into whom you need to stack. From the stairs, go to the right and, standing at the end of the walkway, "fan feathers". This'll attract the peacock (size 2) down from its perch. Stack into it, and "fly to nest". Walk off the nest into the luggage claim below, unstack, stack into the nearby maintenance man (size 1) and "maintain" the nearby panel to open the gate.

"Pump the Bellows" - Summit Room (Activated after freeing the final ambassador)
-Use the largest ambassador to unlock the doors and follow Abigail to the bellows room.
-Stack the largest ambassador into the largest bellows and unstack the ambassadors into place.
-Once all ambassadors are on the bellows, take Charlie underneath and pump the smallest bellows.

Fairly straightforward. After the cutscene, stack into all five ambassadors (size 1-5) standing together and follow Abigail to the emergency exit. Use Ambassador Wroll's "Key to the City" to unlock the door to the outside area. At the end of the path, use "Key to the City" to open the door to the Bellows Room. Stack each ambassador onto their respective bellows and then, as Charlie, stack onto the final bellows under the grate. "Pump bellows" a couple times and you're done.

on the "Break out of the brig" mission, I used the 'out of the frying pan' solution then carried on with the game thinking I'd come back and do the others later. However, now whenever the guards chase me they just stand over me and won't put mein the brig at all. I've tried getting caught by every guard, getting caught by two guards, going back to the train station and then returning to the blimp, completing the game... but nothing works.

Has anyone else had this and managed to fix it or am I going to have to play through half the game again on a new save?

Ok, I found a post from the game developers on their forum which states that the problem I was having is due to a bug. There is currently no way around it other than to play through the game again (just doing one solution to the puzzles in the station and the ship) up to the zeppelin and then make sure you complete ALL the Brig solutions before moving on to the next part of the game. Luckily, it only takes about 15-20 minutes to do this once you know what you're doing.

it might be worth mentioning this in the guide so that others don't have the same problem that I did?

DaywalkerUK is right, this achievement should be marked as "glitched". i've read that you can delete the patch, by clearing your cache, and get the achievement offline. i cant confirm that, as i've read that after i startet a new game.

Hm, so confirmation, huh? Ok, I'll note that it's glitched.

Has this been fixed somehow? I've already beaten the game, came back and was able to get the other two solutions, no problem. I approached the guard right in front of the brig door as Charlie and he put me in.

Thanks for the great guide. The brig solution wasn't glitched for me.

still glitched...

i knocked over the dominos in the brig room and then put out the fire which glitched the game so i cleared the cache and started up game and canceled update which means no date for achv. the game knew i was on 2/3 in the brig so i finished the second and decided to see if i added the update and going online would work for the 3rd and last part of the brig but it did not (guard was next to me and would not throw me into brig so i had to clear cache again and it knew that i only needed the 3rd when i started playing. 1minute later i had the achv with no date. bummer...

i could of started a new game but i wanted to start the dlc right away instead.

Clearing cache and playing offline that mission (doing the other 2 solutions) worked for me.
To be clear I couldn't get the achievement because I was missing 2 solutions for "Break Out of the Brig". Guards just didn't caught me after saving the zepelin, they wanted to cathc me but I wasn't sent to prison.

Cache clearing does not work if you picked this game up recently. Seems that the game comes with the update pre installed. Bought this when it went on sale and ran into this glitch. Had to play over from start. But I finished everything else before starting over as that wipes out all previous saves.

I am very upset. I was unaware of this glitch until it was too late. I thought if I did not leave the level it would be ok. It was not. I have no idea if clearing the cache would work or is even possible. I bought and am playing this game on XBox One through BC. Is there anything I can do besides playing the whole game over again? Probably not.

I've encountered a glitch on the zeppelin level. On the objective "Stop the car" and the solution "rabbit takes chimp". When I stack into the last monkey I press the A button and it doesn't stop the car. I've tried quitting to the main menu and loading into the level. And again doesn't let me stop the car for some reason. So just ignored that solution and completed the game. Came back after completing the game and still doesn't let me stop the car. Played through the game 3 times and always glitches on that solution. Anybody else have this problem? (Playing on series X if that helps)

Yeah, this was also glitched for me (Break out of the Brig). It was the last one I needed on that level, too, but I found out that I could just save and quit inside the prison, then apply the patch and continue the game from inside there, thus getting the achievement while online.

Can't confirm if this works on Xbox One, but this the best workaround for 360: Exit game, go to system settings and press Y on your hard drive to clear system cache as others have said. Now start up the game and cancel the update, play offline only long enough to be captured again. Exit game, start it again and install the update this time. You'll now start inside the brig with the patch applied, and you can get the achievement while connected to xbox live.

I find it really obnoxious when some people downvote a perfectly useful and thorough solution. Great videos, I preferred them over text in this game, so it was nice to have the option. Thanks!

Although this level shouldn't be anymore difficult than the preceding ones - especially with the generous hint system - there are two bugs I'm aware of that can prevent solutions to the challenges from working when they ought to... one of which is PERMANENT without an outside-the-game workaround. There's also another puzzle with a solution variant the game won't recognize. I'm going to cover those first (that's the main reason I'm writing this solution in the first place) before I go into detail on all the puzzle answers (which I'm only adding to make this solution complete).

First, the killer: Haven't completed all the "Break out of the Brig" solutions, but can't get back into the brig? Are the Baron's men simply stopping in front of Charlie instead of whisking him away? Congrats: you found the Achievement-breaking BUG that Double Fine INTRODUCED WITH THEIR PATCH. That's right - they patched a bug INTO the game. So you'll have to undo that reprehensible incompetency in order to make this Achievement earnable again, which means clearing your system cache, but first do yourself a favor and save your game right outside the brig. Then exit the game and go kiss your patches goodbye*. Then load Stacking back up - you'll be disconnected from LIVE - and say "No" when asked if you want to patch the game. (You can also do what I did and just pull out the Ethernet plug before loading the game up.) You can then reload your save** and finish the remaining "Break out of the Brig" solutions. Once you've completed those, you can save off and exit the game, then reload it (putting your Ethernet plug back in first if you pulled it), and say "Yes" when asked to patch the game. You should be back to normal at that point. A CAVEAT: if "Break out of the Brig" is the LAST challenge you need solutions for in the level, doing this workaround will mean you are offline when the Achievement pops. If this is unacceptable to you (as it would be to me!), then I'm afraid your only option is to start an entirely new game and earn it there. HOW TO KEEP THE BUG FROM HAPPENING: Preferably, complete all solutions for "Break out of the Brig" before rescuing all the ambassadors (which puts the level into its endgame). That is guaranteed to work. In theory, if you do finish the level first, you may still be able to get caught by guards and finish those solutions then, but it must be before finishing even a single solution to some other challenge, or else the guards will never send Charlie to the brig ever again. (And in case you were wondering, the bird that finds itself right outside the brig's window after one of the solutions won't fly back up to its nest from there, so that doesn't work.)

The second bug is much more minor: trying to shake hands with a gate, but nothing's happening? Guess what: that's the right answer, but the game is glitching on you. Thankfully, this needless frustration is far easier to fix: just quit to the main menu, then immediately reload the game (no need to exit Stacking on the whole). You'll find the arm has retreated back into the wall. Just try pulling it out and shaking it again, this time one action right after the other, and it should work just fine.

Lastly: are you trying to blow a bugle into something but being told someone needs to move first... DESPITE their already having moved? Well, you're doing the second half of the solution right, but the programmers apparently never considered there was an alternative to the first half and won't recognize this as correct. The key to resolving this dumb oversight is just opposite the announcer's booth. See solution 3 under "Stop that Car" below for further details if you need them (and as far as I'm concerned, you already solved the puzzle, so go ahead and read what you need to do to actually get credit - it's only fair if you ask me).

So, with those out of the way, how about I make this a proper solution? I'm spoiler-tagging the actual methods, but NOT the names of the solutions - something the game doesn't normally provide until the solutions are actually found. Think of my listing them here as your final hint before actually revealing the answer.

Get Rid of the Gas (the "stink cloud" just past the dining hall):
1. A Blast of Sweet Air

2. Opera Sucks

3. Override Up High

4. Bun in the Oven

Break out of the Brig (get caught by a guard - see above if doing so doesn't get Charlie imprisoned):
1. Out of the Frying Pan

2. Birdman of Brig

3. Slip Up

Stop that Car (the racetrack at the far end of the zeppelin, right in front of the second zipline operator):
1. Photo Finish

2. Braking for Bananas

3. Call to Arms

4. Rabbit Takes Chimp

5. Action Flag

Open the Gate (in the open area between the Crew Quarters, opposite Cromwell the Terrible's platform):
1. Gate Wedgie

2. Shaken Up

3. Inside Job

Get Mr. Ruffles! (the bonus challenge just up the stairs from the Summit Room once the level's complete):
1. Needle in a Doll Stack

2. Peek-a-Bully

3. Marked Men

*If you don't know how to do this: From the console's dashboard, scroll all the way to the right to the "settings" tab, select "System", then select "Storage". After a wait, all the console's accessible storage devices should be listed. Move the highlight over the main drive, but don't select it - instead, press the 'Y' button for "Device Options" (as shown at the bottom of the screen). Then select "Clear System Cache", followed by "Yes". What this does is remove all memory of all game updates from the system-reserved portion of the drive, reverting all games to an unpatched state. The next time a game that has a patch is loaded from this drive, LIVE will boot you offline and prompt you to either re-patch it or stay offline until you quit that game.

**Depending on where you saved it, you may find yourself watching the "caught by a guard" cutscene immediately upon loading... which will then amusingly be interrupted by the level statistics reminder popping up mid-video. This will not cause a problem - press the 'B' button and the video will resume.

This level has 5 challenges. The solutions to these are:

Get Rid of the Gas:

Solution 1: Stack into Felicity Fowler. Enter the room with all of the gas and "pass potpourri". This will clear up the gas.

Solution 2: Stack into Wilhelmina. Take her to the room with all of the gas and make her sing. When she inhales she will suck up all of the gas.

Solution 3: Crawl into the small hole near the fan service door. Once inside, stack into the mechanics in there and open the door. Now go find a balloon boy in the main room and stack into him. Bring him back to the fan service area and use the air coming from the vent to fly you up to the fan controls, where you can shut off the fan and get rid of all the gas.

Solution 4: Stack into a purse smack lady, then stack into the hazard suit. Use the hazard suit to walk through the gas to the other side, then unstack once so that you are the purse smack lady again. Use purse smack on the glass near the big red button to break the glass and allow use of the button. Push the button to shut off the fans and stop the gas.

Break Out of the Brig:

Solution 1: Stack into the fire chief and put out the small fire covering a hole on wall. Once the fire is out, quickly unstack down to Charlie and crawl through the hole before the fire starts again.

Solution 2: Stack into the big steward and walk into the dominos to knock them down. This will make the bird fly down to your level. Stack into the bird and fly up to its nest, then unstack and leave through the hole in the wall.

Solution 3: Stack into to big steward and push the skateboard near the door into the center of the room. Now unstack all the way back to Charlie and use the horn that says "sound horn for gaurds" above it to call the guard in. He will trip on the skateboard and you can all leave through the front door.

Stop That Car:

Solution 1: Stack into a flash photograhper and take a picture of the monkey driving as he passes you to make him go berserk and crash.

Solution 2: Use the machine near the entrance to the room to drop a few banana's onto a plate. Stewards will come and pick them up. Stack into the steward with banana's and throw one at the monkey when it drives past you.

Solution 3: Stack into a bugle boy, then into a mechanic. Walk up the stairs to where the announcer is sitting. Use the mechanic to break the machine by the announcer to lure him away. Unstack down to the bugle boy and blow the bugle into the microphones.

Solution 4: As Charlie, climb up the small set of stairs next to the track near the banana statues. As one of the racing dogs runs past, stack into it. Press to catch up to the car. Stack into each animal on the car until you are inside the monkey driving. Then simply apply the brakes using .

Solution 5: Stack into the silent film director Cecil Dumheal. Walk him up to the flag bearer near the announcer above the track. Talk to him and then use the "action" command. The flag bearer will wave the flag and the car will stop.

Open the Gate:

Solution 1: Stack into one of the "Northern Kiss" dolls and use him to headbutt the bell, which will initiate a fight with Cromwell the Terrible. Once he has given you a wedgie, you can stack into him and use his Royal Wedgie move to pry open the gate.

Solution 2: Stack into a small mechanic and use the console near the door to drop down a hand shaped lever. Now stack into a Firm Handshake doll and take it back to the lever. Use Firm Handshake on the lever to open the gate.

Solution 3: Stack into a small mechanic, the walk upstairs through the door labeled "Crew Quarters" and stack into Portia Peacock. Use her ability to wave the peacock over to you. Unstack from Portia and stack into the peacock. Use it to fly back to the nest. Now unstack out of the peacock and use the small mechanic on the console near the gate to open it.

Get Mr. Ruffles! (Only available after finishing the level):

Solution 1: Talk to the bullies to initite a small game where you must keep track of the one holding the bear while they spin around in circles and try to mix eachother up. Once they have stopped spinning, and if you payed close enough attention and kept track of the one with the doll, talk to that one and he will give the doll back.

Solution 2: Stack into the banana carrying steward near the bullies. Talk to them to initiate the spinning, but once the stop, throw banana's at them. This will make them open up and you can see what they have inside of them. When the open, watch to see which one is holding the bear, then talk to him.

Solution 3: Stack into either Ambassador Osman or Ambassador Log. When you see which bully has the teddy bear, mark him with "Official Seal" or "Pen is Mightier". This now they will spin around and try to confuse you, but since the bully with the bear is marked, you don't need to keep track. Once they stop spinning around, talk to the marked bully.

So we need to save 5 important people.

Gas:

1. At the very beginning there is a girl who farts gas. We take it and go into the room with the gas, fart ( ) and everything is fine (just don’t come close to the gas, you’ll die).

2. There is also an opera singer in the first room, take her ( ) and inhale gas ( ).

3. We run into the hole to the right of the gas room with the help of a mechanic and open the door ( ) we sit as a mechanic in a boy with balls on his head. We take off on the smoke from below( ) and climb out of the pazza ( ) the mechanic stops the gas.

4. Well, the simplest thing is to find someone to beat (an aunt with a bag) and sit down in a suit opposite the gas room. We pass the gas, climb out ( ) and hit the button 2 times.

In the castle:

1. We go upstairs and find an aunt with a fan, we sit in it ( ) let's go a little further and there is a peacock sitting on a pipe. We wave to him with a fan ( ) and when it comes down, we transfer to it. Flying into the nest ( ) and jump down into the castle and open the door with a mechanic ( ).

2. Take the mechanic and open the hand to the right of the gate. We find a guy who likes to shake everything and shake his hand ( ).

3. Opposite the castle there is a strong man, we ring the bell (either an aunt with a bag, or a man in a kilt) and when he comes down, we change into it and raise the gate ( ).

In prison:

The latest version of the game has an unpleasant glitch that makes it impossible to go back to prison (I caught this glitch myself and read on ps3t that many people have this kind of garbage). So what helped me was deleting and reinstalling the game without a patch and without an add-on, having completed the prison we also get the opportunity to leave it with the character necessary to perform Hi-jinks. Just in case, I copied the save to the cloud before I started playing the add-on, and then after reinstalling it I restored that save back.
