How to unlock the Final Floor achievement in Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time - Definitive Guide

Lenneth, Ethereal Queen and Freya are the game's final superbosses, Leneth and the Ethereal Queen are both located in Sphere 211. Once you defeat Gabriel Celeste he will unlock the "seal" which will allow you to explore more floors at the Sphere back in Gemity. To get to the Sphere, warp to Gemity from the rift opening outside of the Mining Town of Kirlsa (Aire Hill), from the main plaza go south to the train station and select Sphere. Sphere 211 has 211 floors of randomly generated mazes, with a boss every 11 or so floors. Because there are so many floors, you may not want to explore every floor, finding the transporter out may just be your objective. This is also fine, because when you beat the Ethereal Queen all of the floors will be empty, allowing you to grab treasure and backtrack without running into enemies. This FAQ lists all of the rooms in Sphere 211 and what treasures they contain, use it as you're playing through the Sphere so that you don't miss anything valuable. I will detail the three bosses below.

Lenneth Breakdown:

Lenneth's Level: 194
Recommended Level: 160 - 170's
Location: Sphere 211, Floor 210

The first time you encounter Lenneth, you may be surprised with how difficult she is. Things start out okay with her using normal attacks, until you get her down to about half health and she starts using Nibelung Valesti. Nibelung Valesti is an explosion that deals immense damage, which also covers nearly the entire battlefield with almost zero startup. Yes, it's about as fair as it sounds, so you're gonna need a few things in order to get this boss down to a level playing field. Stun Bombs and Shielding Devices. If you don't know how to make them, refer to the FAQ I linked in the Roadmap. If you do know how to make them and already have them (patented as well, hopefully), get as many as you can for this boss. What you're looking to do is go the menu when you see Lenneth starting to cast Nibelung Valesti, if you do it quickly enough you'll be able to knock Lenneth out of the attack and stun her: giving you time to attack to her freely. The shielding device is for when you were too late to use the stun bomb and you can already see the attack heading your way. The shielding device will make you invincible for 30 seconds, you won't be able to attack but, it's better than being dead right? I recommend using Maria for this fight and mapping Energy Burst to long , you want to stay away from Lenneth's attack range. It may take a few tries, but stun bombs really make this fight manageable.

Ethereal Queen Breakdown:

Ethereal Queen's Level: 204
Recommended Level: 180 - 190s
Location: Sphere 211, Floor 211

Ethereal Queen in comparison to the other super bosses isn't all that hard, she could almost be considered easy. So long as your team is synthed out and properly leveled, the only other things you need to take into consideration are a few precautions. Like Gabriel Celesta, EQ can paralyze you, but she can also petrify you with one of her later attacks. So you'll want to make sure each of your characters has defense against that, or if you just want one person to have defense against it and bring appropriate herbs to cure them: that's fine too. Most of EQ's attacks are slow, what's more is that she is susceptible to being interrupted by attacks more easily than the other bosses: and that is her downfall. Equip Cliff with multi hitting Battle Skills like Fist of Fury and Sphere of Might to juggle her, and control Maria while making use of cancel bonuses with either Scatter Beam or Energy Burst (while Berserk is on) to melt EQ's health. Be prepared though, as with 10,000,000 health you'll be at it for a while before she's dead. When's she's near death, she'll start using an attack called Celestial Star that covers field, this is the attack that can petrify. When you see the name pop up, immediately move to the edge of the arena and manually move your party there as well: that's really the only threat.

Freya Breakdown:

Freya's Level: 244
Recommended Level: 255
Location: Urssa Lava Caves, Crosell's Lair

No, that is not a typo: if you want to have a chance at beating Freya you will need to be at max level with all of your party members as a bare minimum. Let me explain why: Freya is the hardest boss in the game. Why? Well, let's take Lenneth's Nibelung Valesti ability and give it 13 hits instead of one single explosion, and Freya can cast that repeatedly one after the other if she wants to. Did I mention she has 20,000,000 health? This battle is by no means impossible, but you will need to do a lot of prepwork in advance if you want to come out on top. Let's start with the Uber Fayt strategy.

The Uber Fayt strategy is how you will win this battle with ease, but it requires some synthesizing. Basically, Fayt has the highest Defense in the game. When he reaches level 255, if you synth about 7 BoP's on his weapon and put two in his accessory slots: Fayt will have a Defense status of 5000 making him near invincible (if your party isn't at that level yet, refer to the grinding method located under Always Getting Stronger). He will be able to tank Freya's Ether Strike without flinching for practically no damage, but you'll also want to synth an amulet of freedom on his weapon if you already haven't, as Freya can paralyze too. Now that won't be enough to win, Fayt may be able to take Freya's Damage but he can't dish out damage as consistently as Maria. Even with a fully synthesized Dragoon Laser and Valkyrie Garb, Maria won't be able to survive a close range Ether Strike, which is why in tandem with the stun bomb/shielding device mentioned under the Lenneth section: you need to make Uber Fayt so that he can survive the Ether Strike and revive your fallen party. The stun bombs work okay here as well, but not as well as it did with Lenneth. Remember earlier how I mentioned Freya can cast Ether Strike back to back? She can get out of the stun bomb and immediately cast it too, before your item cooldown recharges preventing you from using another stun bomb. With the Uber Fayt strategy covered, let's talk about how you're going to deal damage.

I recommend controlling Maria for this fight and turning on her Berserk mode, you'll want to equip Magnetic Field to long and Energy Burst to long . This will allow you to cancel MF to Energy Burst with a 175% bonus, hold down the Energy Burst until your Fury is consumed to maximize your damage. Alternatively you can map both short and short to Scatter Beam for continuous Cancel Bonuses. This admittedly is more damaging than the Energy Burst cancel, but you also have to be much closer to Freya putting yourself at much more of a risk. As for your party, I chose a party of Cliff and Fayt (they both had 7 BoP on their weapon with the last bonus being resistant to paralysis, and their accessories were also two BoP). Give Cliff Fists of Fury and Infinity Kick, and give Fayt Dimension Door and Ethereal Blast. Honestly, you're not looking to have them deal too much damage, so much as you want them to distract Freya while you blast her with Energy Burst from afar. With 20,000,000 HP, it's going to take a long time before she's dead. Prepare to expend all of your items as necessary, this is the final battle.

Once you've defeated Freya, Lenneth, and the Ethereal Queen: the trophy will unlock.
