How to unlock the Never Tell me the Odds achievement in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II - Definitive Guide

Ok, this started as simply explaining my troubles with the glitch but I decided to give some hints and a mini walkthrough. If you beat the DLC on Unleashed, but don't get the cheevo, simply play it again on unleashed on a new save file. This fixed my problem. On to my tips.

When you start make your way up the hill slashing enemies. There really is only alot of average enemies with a few laser snipers. I'd like to point out that jedi mind trick would be awesome for this if it wasn't horribly glitched. So just keep slashing away.

After the log area you will come into a confrontation with those cute little ewoks. When playing I would dash around grappling (X+Y) them Just like the average troops though anything will knock em' down. The next few encounters you can simply run through so just dash(LB) around the enemies until you reach Han and Chewie.
What I did for this battle was to jump around behind him/under his legs and keep slashing away with some force repulse to get rid of the ewoks. Chewie will often back himself into a corner making my strategy easier.

When you first enter the base keep moving and grapple everybody. I found this the easiest to handle this room because of that laser watching the room.
For the next big open area, I found this part hard to give any tips except that using the force makes part pretty easy.

Now for the boss,
Part 1: Just be offensive keep hitting the boss( Im not gonna spoil this ;) ) Don't give it the chance to hit you.
Part 2: Just keep throwing your sabers at the turrets you'll get through it easily.
Part 3: Keep being offensive. When the boss jumps up on the ledges throw your saber at the boss and dodge his oncoming attacks. Rinse and repeat
Part 4: This is basically the same as part 3 but harder. I hope you saved your unleashed power (you should have), because that will make this cake(not a lie). This part starts with the boss jumping onto a ledge. When the boss jumps back down activate the unleashed power(tap LS and RS at the same time) and slash away non-stop until you WIN!!!!

Hope this helps.

Force Push works much much better when the boss is up on the ledge. More damage and disrupts his attacks from the ledge.

Ditto on the Force Push. Being offensive nonstop on the last boss will also get you killed more often than not. Use jump attacks and block her combos.

Thanks for the tip on force push! Really made the 4th part doable.

Had to do it twice because of the glitch, it really helped the advice about doing it on a new save file.

For part 4 I didn't have my unleashed power. Instead I dashed towards them, then kept hitting X-Y-X-Y-X-Y and they didn't get a single hit off.

what HolyHa1fDead said.

X-Y-X-Y etc. is all that is needed. You won't get hit even once in the final part.

yeah I did the x and y "combo" as soon as the boss lowered their defenses and I was able to keep hitting them without them blocking or being able to react/hit me

I experienced the glitch also. Beat it on unleashed but didn't get the achievement. It said I beat it on medium. I didn't try again on a new save (although I'm sure it works) cause I wanted to use my leveled character and special lightsabers. I simply replayed it again, on unleashed setting, on the original save and got the achievement.

Note that when I replayed it I did it in one sitting. I didn't stop, save, and come back. I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

I'm not sure what causes the issue but I suspect the game won't give you the achievement for unleashed on your first pass through regardless of your setting.

I'm not sure what the glitch is but I have beat Endor on Easy and Medium and the Unleashed difficulty will not unlock. Any ideas?

How do you dodge the bosses saber throw? It nails me no matter what i do. Jumping, Dashing, Jumping AND Dashing, Double Dashing, Dash-Jump-Dash... it hits me every time.

Double Life Drain Sabers also really help if you are struggling.

FYI, the DLC seems to track its own amount of experience and level of power ups. I had all my power ups at level 2 in the DLC, although some are level 1 or 3 in the main campaign. Increasing to level 3 in the DLC does not change anything for the main campaign. So if you are having trouble with Unleashed here, you could replay the DLC on lower difficulty to farm experience. One DLC playthrough on easy gives ~30,000 XP, while each increase to level 3 costs about 50,000 XP. It is a bit grindy, but it may help a few people to have 1 or 2 skills at max level.

Thanks for the tips, this really helped, especially Force push in stages 3/4 and the X-Y combo after that. Got hit with the glitch however, counted as Medium. Maybe playing the first time on medium would prevent the glitch? Might be worth a try if you’re just getting to this, could save you a run through.

I had problems with beating Leia in the final battle on unleashed difficulty

Phase One: nothing to it. Just keep hitting Leia with XXXXY combo. This stuns her and allows for a takedown.

Phase Two: Use a combo of lighting and saber to take out the first 2 sets of Pylons. Try to form an "X" with the remaining four pylons. To destroy the final Pylons, keep moving towards one on the spinning wheel. And just use your lighting on them.

Phase Three and Four: This gets a bit difficult. When Leia jumps on the beams above. Use LT and X to throw your sabers towards her. At this point avoid both her saber throw and force push. When she jumps down be sure to either dash away or jump in the air. As she inflicts area damage when she lands. As soon as she is on the ground hit her with Y(ligthing). Then redo the XXXXY or the XXXY combo. And keep hitting the combo on her. And the figth should be over quick.

Unleashed is is the highest difficulty in the DLC and works in the same way as the main game, which you must first complete on Unleashed before you can attempt this on Endor.

  • Enemies can kill you rather quickly. I recommend using Life-Drain/Healing as your lightsaber crystals so you can regain health from killing enemies.
  • Make full use of your Force powers, especially Force Throw, to use objects in the environment and throw enemies into each other.
  • Against Han and Chewie, make sure to throw the containers and ewoks charged with Force Lightning at them. You can catch Chewie's bombs and Han's rockets as well.
  • For the fight against Leia, make sure to only attack her after she has used her Force powers as she is highly vulnerable then. Use Force Lightning on her in the second phase of the fight in-between dodging her attacks when she jumps up on the higher platforms

Having completed the main game, you shouldn't have any real issues on Unleashed. Just take your time and make note of the tips outlined above.
