How to unlock the Back to the Grind achievement in Starfield - Definitive Guide

As you walk around New Atlantis, you’ll eventually walk past multiple kiosks. The Ryujin will make an announcement saying that they’re hiring. The screen on the kiosk will be red with the Ryujin logo, just walk up to it and press ‘A’ and read the prompts, select the option to ‘Apply’ and fill the application anyway you choose and than submit.

The Mission to head to head to the planet for the Ryujin job will be added to your “Activities”. Just board your ship and go from there to unlock the achievement. I happened upon just wandering around the different New Atlantis areas as I’m early in the game much like everyone else right now.

If I’m missing something, please don’t hesitate to add!

.
I'm guessing the Ryujin logo is the same as the achievement picture.

Yes. The kiosk will have the same logo as the achievement art.

To unlock for me, I had to go to the interview and then complete the mission where you deliver coffee to the higher ups. After returning to Imogen Salzo, I received 4,800 creds and the achievement.

Just a question, are we allowed/supposed to actually join all the factions?? Or does one have to pick & choose? It seems a bit weird to me since some of them are criminals and/or enemies to each other?? I just don't want to mess things up. Thanks for anyone who can clarify this.

There's a kiosk immediately upon entering the Upper Platform of Neon on Volii Alpha of Volii star system. It's directly facing you when you get off the elevator.

@ShellingFord - from what I've read, you can join all factions at the same time even if they are rival factions, and you won't be locked out of one factions questline due to your actions in another.

The faction questlines completely ignore stuff you did for the other faction quests. I completed the UC Vanguard questline and saved the fucking humanity, but for all the other quests none of those NPC's even remembered that we'd met before.

In this guide we will show you how to join Ryujin Industries to earn the "Back to the Grind" Achievement in Starfield.

In Starfield you can join various Factions and unlock new quest lines and new gear. One of these Factions is Ryujin Industries.

The quest to join Ryujin Industries starts in the city of New Atlantis. You will need to locate the Ryujin Industries kiosk and answer a short questionnaire, from there you will need to apply for an interview at the company.

Your interview does not take place in New Atlantis, but in another Starfield city, Neon City. This city is located on the planet Volii Alpha in the Volii system, and as its name suggests, is notable for its cyberpunk aesthetic.

After you have completed your interview with Imogen Salzo, she will ask you to bring her a coffee. So you'll have to exit the Ryujin Industries building and visit the local cafe, there you'll be in for an unpleasant surprise, as the previous errand boy threatens you with a gun. It is possible to avoid the confrontation by using Persuade, but if you give the wrong answers, then you will have to eliminate the poor NPC.

Then your mission is to hand out coffees to all the high-ranking executives of the company, starting with Imogen. Then you have to deliver four more coffees in the company's conference room. Once you have completed all the deliveries go back to Imogen to complete the quest and earn the "Back to the Grind" Achievement.

Ryujin Industries is a mega-corporation, based in the city of Neon, on the water planet of Volii Alpha in the Volii system. Ryujin is interested in the future, and in those who have the brains - and the cash, naturally - to shape it. The Ryujin Industries faction is one of four factions in Starfield, and while the UC Vanguard and Freestar Rangers are most certainly the “good guys” and the Crimson Fleet are the “bad guys,” the Ryujin Industries faction is the middle ground. The shades of grey!

If you’re interested in getting a little Cyberpunk and unleashing your inner Corpo, then Ryujin is the faction for you. And Volii Alpha is where you need to head.

See our Starfield How to join the Ryujin Industries faction guide for more of an in-depth guide on where to go and who to speak to, to start on this chaotic questline.
