How to unlock the Guilty Parties achievement in Starfield - Definitive Guide

This achievement is part of the storyline you follow when working for Ryujin Industries. As you get into the later stages of it you learn that a mole inside the corporation has leaked info on a ‘Project Dominion’ to a competitor.

The mission immediately before this one involves a security sweep. It’s stealth based and can be a bit of a pain, so bear that in mind when doing this storyline. Once you’ve got the security sweep out of the way and identified the suspect, the mission for the achievement is relatively straightforward.

How you approach it is up to you, but the easiest way is to persuade Benjamin Bayu to allow you to enter the Seokguh Syndicate hideout peacefully. From there you can confront the suspect and deal with the situation as you see fit.

Really struggling with the infiltration section on this one, the guards seem to be psychic and be able to see through obstacles! Even after I used a spare skill point I had on stealth, and I'm wearing a chameleon helmet that cloaks me. I can talk my way out of it the first time and I'm OK and get no hassle on that floor, but when I then get spotted further up they instantly shoot on sight. I've tried going full on Rambo and just killing everybody who attacks me but I get a bounty although, so far, it doesn't seem to actually fail the mission.

Update - got it after wasting 2 hours of reloading quicksaves and trying to be stealthy. I eventually just abandoned it and killed any guards who attacked me (the peashooter stungun you're given is useless, it takes about 5 hits to work). It turns out that you can completely ignore the stealth requirement, kill as many guards as you like, and the only difference it makes is a quick comment about insurance from the mission giver at the end of that section! Didn’t even notice a bounty, I was able to return to the building later with no issue. Perhaps you forgo a small credits bonus, but to avoid all that frustration, who cares?!

This achievement is currently bugged for me. Completed the previous mission and Dalton told me to go arrest her. Guilty Parties should have started immediately after and it didn’t. I tried redoing the previous mission both loud and stealth and still nothing. It won’t let me interact with Dalton, Ularu, or Imogene. Hopefully they get this fixed soon because it’s a main quest line and I can’t finish it. Put a ticket in for it and tried all their methods to get it fixed and none worked.

Question - After going over the roof into the vents and infiltrating part of the building o fast travelled out to get a few more levels to allow me to stealth better. I now can't get back in, the button on the roof that swings the crane no longer works. Have I broken this quest or does anyone have a workaround please?

I only have 2 missions left left but this storyline had so many bugs. Seemed like I had to fix a bug every other mission, pita.

@Camege

I’m afraid you’ve broken it… or rather Bethesda have. That crane is supposed to stay in place after pushing the button as it’s also the quests’s exit point. A simple enough fix on their side.

Can you work around it? Doesn’t look like it - a PC player said they used mods to noclip across there and get back in but that’s not an option on console yet.

This seems to be very buggy. I have completed the Ryujin questline but never unlocked this sadly.

Edit: Reloading an early save didn't work, I had to start a new run to unlock it.

The infiltration mission doesn't need to be as hard as it seems - as long as you stay completely non-lethal, getting spotted is apparently not a big deal.

@JOHN SWFC

If you’re talking about the stealth mission before this then one thing to remember is that the droids trundling along the floor see everything - yup, even though the chameleon field. It’s a bit weird, but they seem to add extra line of sight to the guards - IF the guard is close enough to either them or you. (Does that make sense?)

Once I started stealthing around the droids too I managed it easily enough.

The stealth part is really easy if you get Void Form power first (play some main quest and go through some temples). I just activated it and ran past everyone without any incidents.

This achievement is not bugged. I figured out how to progress this mission and the executive levels mission for the achievements. Can I post a video guide here? I have never posted a guide.

@Dwarf Cabochan

Probably not, I’m afraid. Your only real option may be to go back to an earlier save and hope that you don’t trigger the bug again.

@Lost1Prophet

I don’t do video guides myself but it should be as simple as uploading the video to YouTube and then posting your own guide describing the video and including a link to it.

For anyone struggling with Background Checks (the stealth mission) unequip your spacesuit, helmet, and pack. Then use the panel inside the vents to turn off the lights. There are several places you can turn off lights or use computers to create distractions.

Guilty Parties is glitched for me...that dang slate is missing on the stand preventing the quest from moving forward. I snuck through the vents etc. but Kimiho's Slate is just missing. ;(

The Ryujin missions are bugged in general for me. I haven't finished them but they no longer even exist in the game anymore. There are no mission prompts, no objective markers, nothing. Anyone else run into this? I can't find a save game from before this happened because I didnt know it was happening and I deleted a bunch of saves because there's that pesky limit.

I am on the Top Secrets mission and everyone wants me dead. All humans shoot at me and I cannot get past this spot in orbit with endless Freestar ship spawns that shoot at me.

So I got to the point in background checks where I have to return to Dalton at Ryujin Tower after talking to Nyx.

I get to the lobby of the tower and the elevator opens. The blue dot is on the elevator control, but no writing comes up and I have no option to go to any floor. If I go back up to the vent where I snuck in earlier, the vent says inaccessible.

Is there anyway to get around this?

While all the other factions reward players with the second faction achievement after the sixth mission of eight or nine missions, you’re going to need to finish a whopping ten missions before you get the second of three Ryujin Industries faction missions.

Like all the factions in Starfield, in the Ryujin Industries faction you’ll receive Back to the Grind (10G) for starting the faction; this here Guilty Parties achievement for finishing the 10th mission; and Executive Level (30G) for finishing the 13th and final Ryujin Industries faction quest - for a full rundown of all 13 missions, check out the Executive Level (30G) achievement guide write-up.

If you still haven’t joined the Ryujin Industries faction, then check out our Starfield - How to join the Ryujin Industries faction guide to know how to do so.
