How to unlock the Legacy's End achievement in Starfield - Definitive Guide

Recommend always having a save before starting a whole line of missions and doing them all in sequence to avoid bugs and always having a save in the previous mission

bug in the last mission (if you are defeated by enemy troops and appear on a planet and you cannot move, close the game and restart, reload your save and if you cannot use your ship go to the ship builder change color your ship and saved) solution discovered by >Devious Jedi

I recommend using this ship in the last mission (Star Eagle - Class A: Complete the Freestar Rangers faction questline.) if you don't have it, equip the best shield and the best reactor and as many weapons as you can, and also reduce the mass of your ship, otherwise upgrades will not be applied if your ship is too heavyby by >Devious Jedi

I’m assuming you don’t need to complete “Burdon of Proof”

PowerPyx has it listed as a Crimson Fleet mission. Looks like that side quest would take a few hours to complete.

Exactly Burdon of Proof is not necessary to achieve. That's why I didn't put it on the list so as not to confuse people. I did this much later^^

In the last mission, if you side with the pirates you will sometimes have an enemy ship go missing so the big lasers won't hammer on the main ship. If this happens, you can still whittle the ship's health down. It'll be slow and the game will tell you you are having no effect, but it'll still happen and you'll eventually be able to board.

Had no glitches but couldn't work out how on earth to fit the 2 required parts to my ship that you need to progress the mission. Eventually used a guide to find you have to do it in "ship builder" mode and not add them as upgrades, the game was no help here at all.

If you side with the UC, make a save before you dock with The Key in Legacy's End. There's a bug where you'll get to the command room but Delgado won't talk to you.

May wanna put a warning up for 2 things.
1st the last mission is glitchy as hell. Numerous times when I got killed during final space battle it would spawn me on a planet with no floor and impossible to do anything.
To solve that I had to close game down and restart, load a previous save from 10 or 20 mins earlier, then my spaceship would be gone so I had to go into ship builder, change colour and save to respawn ship.

2nd the last space battle was a nightmare for me, in the end I was flying a Var'uum Hymn, had to modify it and put the best shield module, best reactor and triplicate each weapon on the front which made it easier.

I would like to add my experience with the questline (and maybe help some avoid the same mistakes).

1. Probably a good idea to make a hard save (vs autosave) after each quest (I made some mistakes, see below, and had to restart several quests earlier).

2. I have been doing all sorts of questlines randomly. The quest The best there is actually disappears for me when I was doing other things. I knew that I had to talk to Jazz and Navea on the Key, so went there and the quest started even though it was missing in my inventory..

3. I think you have only 1 chance if you screw up on stealth missions. In the best there is, I forgot to actually wear the uniform you steal. While I was talking to Huan via intercom, my wife Sarah started attacking the guards. I figured not my fault, completed the mission and Ikande chews me out at the end of the mission. I figure no big deal.

4. In the mission Absolute Power I started the stealth part at the end, and again Sarah does her own thing and starts a firefight. Again I figured no big deal. This time at mission end, Ikande gets really mad, throws me in jail, the UC is now my enemy, and the Crimson faction questline is comepletely removed. Thus, this achievement can be missable. Because I forgot to make some hard saves, I had to restart all the way back from breaking the bank, as that was the last one I did. Annoying, because I had to recollect the files for Burden of Proof.

5. With regards to Burden of Proof, there are 20 files to collect, but you only need 16 to get the Legendary Pistol Memento Morii. I got it before I started Absolte power (because I had collected all the other ones prior). There is no addition rewards apart from the little credits she gives for each file you give her. Personally this weapon is really good (I specialized in pistols as well).

6. I did not have the glitch on the Legacy, but most people mention making a hard save before the last part where you have to download the credits. Thus after hearing the recording (you need to, to get the quest to continue), make a save. Also, do not forget to pick up the Legendary Rifle The Revenat next to Kryx. This rifle is OP.

7. I had no issues with the last battle, but I had done the mission Overdesigned prior. Make sure you do the mission correctly and get the Kepler R, as it a much better ship than the Kepler S. I did not even upgrade my ship, and easily destroyed the Crimson fleet. It is a class C ship, so you would need to max out piloting (can easily be done by repeatedly doing the pilot simulator).

The Crimson Fleet is Starfield’s Dark Brotherhood questline. A chance for you to step into the shoes of the bad guys and cause absolute chaos. Like the other factions in Starfield, the Crimson Fleet faction storyline has 3 achievements: Rook Meets King (10G) for joining the Crimson Fleet; The Best There Is (10G) for completing the 6th mission; and “Legacy’s End” for finishing the final quest and completing the faction.

There are 9 missions in all, and they are:
  • Deep Cover
  • Rook Meets King
  • Burden of Proof
  • Echoes of the Past
  • Breaking the Bank
  • The Best There Is
  • Absolute Power
  • Eye of the Storm
  • Legacy's End
If you haven’t yet joined the Crimson Faction, because honestly, it’s not the most straightforward to join, then check out our Starfield - How to join the Crimson Fleet faction guide - it covers every single way to join the faction from the undercover cop route, to the full on criminal route. Your call. Just be wary that the latter might piss off your companions, so do bear that in mind. Especially if you're going after The Family You Choose (20G) achievement.
