Strange Horticulture

The journey for receiving and ultimately activating the viewing device starts on day 3. You'll be visited by Simone who provides map directions for finding the Common Trouse plant. She advises that she'll be back on day 5 to collect this. Follow the steps she provides to track down this plant in advance of her next visit.

When Simone visits on day 5, she'll mention a stranger who was looking for you. Provide her the Common Trouse and she'll give you some basic map directions for finding the stranger. Follow those directions initially to J22, and then on to L25 and you'll receive the viewing device (and accompanying letter) from the stranger. You'll notice that the device needs to be activated by a plant, which the letter names as Red Abony.

Fast forward to day 7, and you'll start the day with a cryptic daily card stating 'Five miles south of the tallest but one, it grows in peace in the midday sun'. The card is referring to mountain peaks, the second tallest of which is Bowfell located at D14. Count 5 miles down to I14 and you'll receive a new plant which is entirely blue. This is the Red Abony plant. You'll receive the corresponding book page for this plant later on day 7, but for now you can drag this plant to the viewing device, activating it, and unlocking the achievement.
