How to unlock the Territory achievement in Stray - Definitive Guide
Throughout the 12 chapters of the game, you will come across ‘scratching spots’ that you are required to interact with. Some chapters have plenty of locations to do so and you may even find a few whilst playing naturally. You need to at least interact with one for each chapter in order to unlock the achievement. I have provided some locations below with images to help. If you missed one for any reason, you are able to use the ‘Chapter Select’ from the main menu to select the level you may be missing.
*Please Note: You must activate a save point after using any scratch spot in order for it to register as complete for that chapter.
Inside the Wall
Near the beginning of the chapter, once you have full control of your cat, you will have to jump up two small ledges in order to progress. Shortly after the second ledge, if you look to your left, there will be a tree you can interact with.
Dead City
As you progress through the level, you will be required to knock a paint can through the roof of a building in order to enter it. When entering, you will jump down onto a bed and then the floor. There are two rugs right next to the bed that you can scratch.
The Flat
The earliest scratching spot can be found literally as soon as you enter said flat. Once you enter and the chapter card pops up on the screen, you can find a carpet in the next room on your right.
The Slums
After meeting the robot in the red robes near the beginning of the chapter, the garage door behind him will open up and you can enter. Upon entering, you will notice a rug on the floor you can scratch. There are plenty of opportunities in this chapter, but this is the earliest.
Rooftops
Right at the very start of this chapter. Jump in to the bucket and take the zip-line across to the next set of buildings, there is a carpet on the roof of this building ahead.
The Slums - Part 2
Plenty of opportunities throughout this chapter as before, the earliest being right at the very start directly ahead of you inside Momo’s apartment, you’ll find a rug you can interact with.
Dead End
After entering the Doc’s house. Head downstairs to the bottom floor and enter the room on your right. You can scratch the wall at the back by his desk, below the blue clock.
The Sewers
After you use B12 to hack the two consoles on the large door, you will go through and up some small steps. Just to your left, in the corner, you can find a piece of cardboard on the floor that you can scratch.
Antvillage
There are plenty of locations to scratch in this chapter, however the first place to do so is shortly after going up to the first level. If you look to your right, you will notice two robots will be sat on a bed. Just next to them you can scratch on a bit of wood with orange paint.
Midtown
As soon as you enter the main strip of Midtown after climbing some stairs, look to your right to find a robot chilling on a couch inside the building. You can walk up to and interact with this couch for the scratching spot.
Jail
This next spot is technically unmissable for this chapter. Towards the end of the level you will need to interact with some keys hanging from a vehicle door. When interacting with the keys, you automatically start scratching at the door to progress the level. There is also a tree directly behind the vehicle in a courtyard area that you can also interact with.
Control Room
Near the beginning of this chapter, you will need to coordinate with B12 to open the control room door. By jumping on the moving block shaped robot you will be able to interact with the control panel which will result in you scratching the wires.
If you have managed to interact with each of the spots mentioned (or at least one spot on each chapter) you should unlock your achievement at this point. Don’t forget that if for any reason you have missed a spot on any chapter, you can simply use the ‘Chapter Select’ from the main menu to go back to any level.

Is there a possibility to look up which chapter is missing?

For this lovely little silver trophy, you will need to scratch in all 12 chapters of Stray. Some chapters will force you to scratch to make progress in the story, while other chapters may only have a singular spot where you can use your claws to shred.
Some great news is that this doesn't need to be done in a single playthrough, so, if you miss/missed any of these on your initial playthrough, just load up the chapters you didn't scratch in and the trophy will unlock once you scratch in the final chapter you needed a scratch in.
Chapter 1: Inside the Walls
As you progress through the first chapter, learning the ropes and interacting with your feline family, you will come across a tree about halfway through the level. Simply approach and scratch the tree for a moment.
Chapter 2: Dead City
After you push the paint can through the glass window, you will drop down into someone's flat. There are two rugs in this room, simply scratch either of these rugs for your progress to be tracked.
Chapter 3: The Flat
In the room where you need to type on the computer to unlock the secret door, there is a rug on the floor in this area that you can scratch.
Chapter 4: The Slums
Straight after the cutscene ends, where The Guardian alerts the robot citizens that you are not a threat, simply move forward into the room directly in your line of sight, there is a rug on the floor here that you can scratch.
Chapter 5: Rooftops
When you see the chapter title pop you should be standing on a small roof, on this roof is a rug you can scratch. Make sure you grab this as from my memory there are very few, if any, other places to scratch.
Chapter 6: The Slums Part 2
As soon as the chapter starts, simply move forward into Momo's flat and there is a rug you can scratch in front of you.
Chapter 7: Dead End
After making it into The Doc's apartment, you will go down some stairs, to the right of these stairs is a room with a wall you can scratch.
Chapter 8: The Sewers
The Sewers is the easiest one to miss as there is only a singular spot where you can scratch. Right after you open the big metal door, where you use B-12 to hack the two keypads, go through the door and up the stairs. After reaching the top of the stairs, to the left, there should be a bit of cardboard you can scratch.
Chapter 9: Antvillage
There are multiple spots you can scratch here. If you follow the ground floor path around you will come to a robot sitting on a sofa, you can scratch the arm of this sofa.
Chapter 10: Midtown
Midtown is a chapter where you will be forced to scratch at some point to progress the story. Just to be safe we have provided an easy spot where you can scratch just to get it out of the way. In the clothing shop — where you will need to steal from later on — there is a rug near one of the entrances that you can scratch.
Chapter 11: Jail
Chapter 11 is also an area where you will be forced to scratch. You will need to scratch at some keys that are dangling in a car door. For anyone that would like a proper scratch, there is a tree close to where the car is. You will need to make your way past a wired fence to reach it.
Chapter 12: Control Room
You will be forced to scratch at some wires to progress the story. After you do this, the trophy should pop! Congratulations on your silver trophy!

The most commonly missed scratch would most likely be chapter 8 as it’s on a piece of cardboard right at the end of the chapter after multiple chase sequences and encounters with the Zerks. If your unsure as to what one you could have missed I’d recommend going back to this one first if you think you had all of them

Awesome guide. I did this on chapter select. For those doing the same - don’t scratch and then quit out for the next chapter. You’ll need to scratch and then proceed to the next checkpoint, otherwise the game will not save your scratch progress.

Just to add tot he post from TuKraZe.
To have the scratch added to progression you must pass atleast one save point after the scratch or the progress wont save. Also if you scratch in all levels but the game doesn't reward the achievment like it did for me then dashboard your console, closing the game fully and log back in and scratch any level and it should pop.

Find at least one scratch spot in every chapter and use it. You don't have to find all of them one per chapter is enough. Some may come through natural story progression.
There is no way to track this though, so you may want to take notes on which chapters you did scratch in in case you end up missing one.

At various points around the city in Stray you’ll be able to scratch certain points of interest by walking over to them and hitting - this could be a door, a rug, a wall, a piece of plywood, whatever. To get the Territory trophy, you need to interact and scratch one of these points in every territory.
There are 12 territories in all (although that does include the Slums twice) and some of them can be fairly easy to miss. So check out our scratch guide here to make sure you get all 12 territories chalked off before you complete the game!
