How to unlock the Pocket Full Of Quarters achievement in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition - Definitive Guide

Just complete arcade mode with any character, with default settings.

It's ok if you use continues. You can also change character during the game.

Dipswitch set to default.

Dipswitches need to be set to default if you changed them to get to Q easier.

Strange because I won it with only one star in the difficulty setting.
But just in case I'll edit the message. Thanks for the observations.

Dipswitch settings only, not star settings or settings beside dipswitches. It didn't pop for me until I set dipswithes to default. Sorry, but the details need to be 100% correct.

I beat the arcade last night and didn't get the achievement. Now I will take InvidiaVirbus advice and put all Dipswitches to default and see if that helps. Yo Kenshin, edit your solution because it is not detailed enough junior. =/

**100% WORKS**
Okay you gotta finish arcade mode... You CAN change the difficulty to 1 star and you CAN change character when you`ve been defeated BUT DO NOT CHANGE ANY DIPSWITCH`S. Other than that the only trouble i had was on the last boss (Gill) But after 7 or 8 tries i got it after swapping from Ryu to Akuma and spammed QCF+punch and QCB+kick mix in afew flying kicks and you`ll eventually get there...

Hope this helps and clears afew things up...

Good luck!

For this challenge you must complete the arcade mode on default dip switch settings. Thankfully you can still use continues, change the difficulty and even switch characters if you feel the need. Jumping heavy kicks (R2) paired with sweeping heavy kicks tend to work for the most part however the AI will occasionally catch on to this. The end boss Gil is a royal pain, however he's definitely manageable. Spam projectiles if you feel the need (Quarter Circle Toward + Punch with Ryu/Ken), don't forget to utilize the super of your choosing as they can save you in a real pinch.

The challenge "Pocket Full of Quarters" for completing Arcade Mode just once.

In Arcade mode you must go through 9 stages of fights, for the first 8 stages you are given the choice to pick whom you want to fight for that round. While playing you will have to complete bonus stages for destroying a truck and for parrying basketballs from Sean. After these bonus stages the difficulty increases a little significantly. When going for this trophy it is highly recommended that you use Gill for those who have preordered the game or bought the add-on for him otherwise use a character such as Chun-Li or Ken with the strategies provided under "Going Streaking". You can also use these same tactics while you are working towards "Mystery Man".

lFxxRJ2.png Fight Against Gill:
The increase in difficulty is the least of your worries as the real opponent you must fear is Gill. Gill is one of those characters banned from tournaments because of how overpowered he is. He has 3 Super Moves all open for him to use. The Super Moves are as follow:

Meteor Strike
Meteor Strike is a long projectile move where Gill calls upon multiple Cryo and Pyrokinesis from the sky onto your side of the screen. Blocking this is easy so long as you are on the ground and it does very little chip damage however if you were to get hit it could easily do about 80% of your health.

Seraphic Wing
Seraphic Wing is a full screen, unavoidable super where Gill will rise in the air with 6 wings and lightwaves will emit from his body. On block it can do about 20% to 30% damage however if it were to hit you it can practically kill you (90% - 100%). Though if you try to hit him out of the move while he is rising he will keep the 1 bar of meter, you can however wait for the move to end and punish him if you are within range.

Resurrection
The one super you want to prevent from happening is Resurrection, if Gill has a full bar of meter when he loses all his health he will revive with full health and you must continue fighting against him. Trying waiting out the battle when he has a full bar of meter and hope he uses Meteor Strike or Seraphic Wing.
