You unlock the Assassin by completing a level (easiest is 1-1) by not getting detected or agro'd by anyone.
Seed mooseqnr has a Switch objective and a Retrieve Item objective:
Switches
Smash a window and run away, when the lone guy inside has gone back to his spot climb through the window and hit the switches, job done now back out the window
Retrieve Item
For this one go to the door on the north side of the building he is in, knock on the door and run away. The other person may come to the door but they should get burnt up on their way.
Knock again and if the guy you need the item from gets burnt up then just nip in and grab it off the ground, if not you can just bribe him for it (sell off stuff if you are doing this)
