How to unlock the Stubbs Otaku achievement in Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse - Definitive Guide

This is an achievement for beating insane difficulty!

Big tip, play this in coop! Even if you don't use the second controller you can use it as a spawn point to get infinite respawns! If you don't do it in one go or the game crashes, make sure you choose resume on the menu to keep your progress!

Ah, Stubbs Otaku...

Simply put, you need to complete the game on "Insane" difficulty.

If you've completed your first or second playthrough already, this will benefit you greatly. Only enemy health and damage are affected, so I'd focus on using what's left of your brains to remember these sections, and use your abilities to their advantage.

Earned for beating the game on insanity/hardest difficulty. Enemies deal more damage (snipers will take you down in no time), have wayyy better accuracy, and take A LOT more hits before they are killed/can be eaten.

This can be done with a second controller in co-op (there's no online co-op). You do not need a second physical player, although that will make this play through faster. If playing solo with 2 controllers, Use the second player as a safe spot to spawn if you die. At the start of some maps, you will need to move the second controller to a safe spot/out of the way of "combat" so that the game will register his position in a safe spot for you to respawn.

The maps where I had to do this were the mall - at the start just rush around to the back near the parking garage where no enemies are, then clear it out floor by floor. Then when you get to the guy with the saw, run the second player down to the floor below to keep him away from the saw guy.

The farm - just hide your second player in the cornfield

Water treatment facility - when you infect the water, hide the second guy down the stairs or just jump in the water and he will flushed down to a safe spot. You can rubber band the R trigger at the start of that scenario so it will infect the water while you control your main guy. Then if he dies, just jump in the water to get flushed down and the second character will respawn.

Boss battle with the head scientist - immediately turn around and there are two walls you can hide behind

The final level - When you get into the building, hide your second player in the hallway while you use your main guy to clear out the building.

The final boss battle - there are a few rooms in the back filled with civilians you can hide in. Eat the civilians and you'll be able to constantly respawn in there. It may take a minute or two to spawn sometimes because the screen will say "waiting for combat to end." That usually means there's a Zombie NPC the boss is dealing with. When that zombie dies and the shooting stops, you'll be able to spawn again. Use your rolling head ability, it does the most damage to his shields.

Some maps are very large so I suggest when you've cleared out part of an area, move your second player up to somewhere safe that way if you die, you don't have as long of a trek back to where you died/where the objective is.

This game is buggy and may crash on you. At one point, my game encountered a glitch half way through the second to last level. Every time I reached a check point which would pull my second character forward, it froze and crashed. Eventually I found a way around this.

I had to go back to the main menu, choose level select, and replayed the previous level on insanity. If you try to level select the current level where the crashing occurs, the game will for some reason load you at the checkpoint instead of starting the level over. It sucked to back track an entire level, but once I progressed back to that glitched checkpoint, this time I was able to get through no problem and complete the rest of the game. The achievement still unlocked after the final cutscene of the game so this method does work if your game gets that type of glitch.

Some general tips:
I always tried to keep a pancreas (gut) grenade on hand as they are useful to clear out a spot and infect enemies.
Farting is very useful back up ability especially when surrounded by enemies with guns or those that have a lot of health like the barber shop guys as it will stun them all to so you can eat their brains. However, don't charge into an are because you will be killed off very quickly.

Be careful who you use your hand on as once you convert someone, all the enemies will then mow down the possessed person. Also some of the military guys with rifles are immune to the hand and will throw it off then shoot it. SWAT guys cannot be possessed and can kill your hand with one hit or kick.

If you possess a sniper, his rifle can zoom in making it easy to clear an entire map with him. Push in the Right Stick to zoom - the sniper can zoom in 3x.

Watch out for scientists with the ray guns as they will knock you back and kill you pretty quick. If you can possess one on the bridge level or the water treatment facility, you can use their ray gun to push enemies in the air and knock them off over the edge to their death.

Use a pancreas on the jeeps to flip them, and fart by a tank to knock the driver out and take control.

The bridge map was IMO the hardest part as there are a ton of enemies with guns and you can run out of powers quickly. Also for some reason whenever I respawned, none of my abilities refreshed. I was able to get past this part by just ignoring the enemies and rushing towards the elevator to reach the checkpoint which pulls your second character forward. Ignore the jet pack guys unless you have a hand to possess them. They take 3 pancreas grenades to defeat so not worth the trouble.

On the last map at the start, you don't need to kill every single enemy, just progress to the front of the build and shoot all the guys that come out. Also shoot the tanks in they start shooting at you, but don't chase after them. Once the front of the building is cleared, you can run into it and get a checkpoint which will auto pull your second character forward.

Complete the game on the highest difficulty level
We receive more damage and the enemy's HP increases from 2-3 hits to 5 and higher. The best skill is definitely the hand, as it makes it possible to clear locations without the risk of being killed, the main thing is to hide Stubbs and take control of opponents with long-range weapons.
