For this achievement we'll use the Gem Farming method to kill two birds with one stone

In Order to begin this method we need the Stage "Power Zone" unlocked. This will cost 4000 gems.

Once we have the stage enter the Battle Menu

As soon as the match starts run right (while using the speed boost) and then down into your opponent.

He will always leave a bomb where he starts and let it kill you. Important that this bomb kills you and you don't kill yourself.

This will award you with 150 Gems and 1 Local Match Played.

Hit Battle Again Rinse and Repeat.

Use the Gems to by extra characters, Stages, or Continues in Single Player. You'll need the cash for the character achievement and for continues in higher difficulties so it works out.

This is going to take a little while, towards 5 hours actually.

I'm currently working towards this as I type and I've found a comfortable way to semi-afk it with 2 controllers.

Start by turning on your console and then turn on both controllers. Have your 2nd Controller start up the game and when prompted to sign in, do so with your 1st Controller. From here out do the rest with the 2nd Controller.

Setup:

1. Battle - Multiplayer Battle
2. COM Level - Off
3. Sets - 1
4. Press to accept the rules.
5. Press to accept the base map.
6. Press with the 1st Controller to "join" and then pick a character, do the same with the 2nd Controller, then put the 1st Controller aside as it won't be needed unless it turns itself off.
7. Once the match starts, press on the 2nd Controller to drop a bomb and self destruct Player 2, which will count as a win for Player 1 and 1/1000 Local Battles.
8. Spam on the 2nd Controller to start the next game, and repeat from Step 7.

For some reason I was unable to have my 2nd Player "join" the match setup unless both controllers were turned on before Bomberman was started. I hope this helps as a decent setup until someone finds something better! Feel free to afk this with one hand, while watching YT or doing something else to pass the time.

***Turbo Controller Method***

Set-up a 1 or 2 player multiplayer game with the following settings:

Rules: Battle Royale
Player: 4P
COM Level: Off
Sets: 1
Time: 9
Start Position: Fixed
Revenge Carts: On
Pressure Blocks: On
Skulls: On
Special Abilities: On

Pick any Level & Bomber Types and when the game starts set controller 1 to turbo the A & B buttons. Doing this will result in Player 1 dropping a bomb down and killing themselves instantly, followed by the game automatically picking 'Battle Again' and repeating the process.

This achievement is a grind, but it's shouldn't take as long as you might think (as long as you have a 2nd controller).

If my math is correct, this achievement should take about 5 hours and 45 mins to grind out. When you set up a match with two players, (set the match limit to 1, the achievement ticker only counts when you complete a match and not the games within the match) just have one person drop a bomb and kill themself repeatedly, doesn't matter who.

Using this simple method, I averaged 10 complete rounds played in 3:30 which breaks down to roughly 21 seconds from beginning of the match to full reset back to beginning. With that figured out, it breaks down to roughly 21,000 seconds or 350 mins or 5.83 hours.
