Though Team Battle allows unbalanced team (e.g 4 in blue team vs 2 in red team) , I confirmed that in order to obtain this achievement, a full team 4 vs 4 is needed. That's means in order to boost this achievement, including yourself, you have to invite another 7 partners.
The process for this achievement is just as description, Won the 4 vs 4 Team battle and in will unlocked.
In addition, I don't know why, currently there is not so much people playing this game online. Quite likely you have to find other partners to boost his achievement.

I got this achievement unlocked after the last two players of the opposing team suddenly quit (seemed like network problems). It should therefore be possible to unlock this more quickly (if you should boost) by simply dropping out. I do not know if there are any consequences for these players (like rage quitting percentage going higher, if there is any). But one quit should not be a problem.
It was my first team battle and it was 4 vs 4. After searching for a quick match for about 1 second I was number 8 in the lobby. Maybe there is more activity online at the moment now that all the retail games are out (that's the one I have).

That's what happened to our session group yesterday, 1 person had network problems and we had a random drop out,
If the fight starts with 8 people and some drop out or have disconnection problems, which ever team wins will still get the achievement.

Yes, you need the Ultra DLC in order for this to unlock. I think you should add to your solution CL1333 that it is very possible to get this legit. You can play numerous Ranked matches for a while then start up a Team Lobby [4v4] and invite all the recent players to it. They will usually accept the invite. Then start messaging them to stay in the lobby and invite their recent friends until the lobby is full with 8 people. Set your teams (red or blue) then start the matches. If your team losses, try to do a rematch until you win, assuming nobody leaves right after.
