Surviving the Aftermath

You're going to want to steadily work toward this from the beginning, but make sure you work on upgrading your infrastructure, as well as your Colony Center/Headquarters (which will show the entire map) first.

Build an environmental station and a waste depot, then send your workers (3 if possible) to clean up spots. You also get more land to work with at the same time. Win/win. You don't need to move the station; just keep moving the work zone around the map.

Even better, you can sell the pollution to other societies. No idea why, but they'll pay to take your waste off your hands, so that you'll have space for all the pollution that you collect.
