How to unlock the Specialist in Rare Monsters achievement in Tales of Xillia - Definitive Guide

Rare monsters come in one of two forms. One is the Bacura class monsters, which are floating blocks which spin and flee from you if you try to approach them. They can be caught fairly easily by using a dark bottle, once used the enemies will run at you instead of away from you. The second is enemies with a warning sign above their heads. It'll be a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it. The video included will show the best spot to farm these foes, all credit goes to PrimalLIQUID for making it.

Note; This does carry over between playthroughs, so if you don't earn it your first time through don't worry!

Progress on this trophy carries over to a NG+.

You need to defeat 75 rare enemies for this trophy. There are two types of rare enemies: a stronger version of a regular enemy identified with a yellow warning sign above their heads, and a Bacura, which appears as a rotating brick. Bacuras will attempt to flee from you if they see you, but you can use a Dark Bottle to make them come to you instead.

It's unlikely that you'll meet 75 rare monsters normally as you play the game, so you'll have to farm them. It's recommended to do this during NG+, as rare monsters also provide more experience than regular encounters, which will help in attaining the level 99 trophies.

The best way to farm them is to warp to Sapstrath Deepwood SW, then move back and forth between Sapstrath Deepwood - SW Region and Sapstrath Highroad- SW Region, while checking only the monsters in the Deepwood area. There are always two monsters that spawn near the Deepwood entrance, so you can easily spot the warning icon as you enter. If you see a Bacura or a strong monster, engage them, then continue alternating between the two areas and battling rare monsters if you spot them until you get the trophy (credit to Ryukori for this image).

You need to kill 75 rare monsters. It’s better to do everything in new game+, since before it you will meet at least 10-30 rare monsters. Rare monsters include all enemies that have a sign with an exclamation mark hanging above their head. These also include all types of square monsters (Bacura).

The best metso for farming is Sapstrath Deepwood - Southwest. We go to Sapstrath Highroad - SW Region and move from it into the forest. If there are no rare monsters at the entrance, then we immediately go back and again into the forest.

In addition, it is worth noting that using Dark Bottle makes things a lot easier. Rare monsters begin to spawn much more often, and bakuras, instead of running away from the player as usual, instead rush to attack.

If a monster with a yellow sign above its head does not appear for a long time, then go to another city and come back again. It helped me.
