How to unlock the Avoid Flying Heads achievement in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 - Definitive Guide

I found this pretty impossible for myself to do in Versus so head to Practice Mode instead. Pick solo and choose whoever you want. For the CPU pick solo also but pick Alisa. As soon as it loads up press start to bring up the practice menu.

At the top should be "Mode Select" and it should say "Freestyle". Press it and go down one to change it to "Defensive Training". Now click on "CPU Setting 1" and hit "Record". You will now be in control of Alisa! Now press cn_back and it will start to record. With Alisa press cn_up cn_right and cn_X + cn_Y at the same time to make her hand her head over to you and let it explode and watch yourself get up.

After that press the start button and "CPU Setting 1" should have three blue bars on it. Press right twice to extend it to five. Press start to go back to training. Press cn_back+ cn_B to make her start taking off her head and handing it to you. As she hands you her head you need to press cn_X + cn_Y to hand it back to her. Do not press start while doing this or you will have to record again. The computer will keep doing this same attack until you press the start button.

Keep going until you have successfully put her head back on her body and then the achievement will pop.

Here is a video of this exact same thing, except they made her do the attack from her command menu :

I had some difficulty recording the move until I see the video. You can simply select the move from the command list without actually performing and recording it.

To earn this achievement that's called "Avoid Flying Heads", you must escape from Alisa's Spam Bomb move.

Make sure to have a second controller or a friend with you for this achievement. If you have either at your disposal, go to Versus mode. Once you enter the character select screen, it doesn't matter who first player is, but the second player has to be Alisa, or it can be the other way around (first person being Alisa, the second person being anybody they want to be for this achievement). Chose any stage and get into the fight. Once it starts, the second or first that's Alisa needs to hit upper-left or upper-right, depending on if they are facing left or right, and hit X+Y at the same time. The other person that's about to receive the bom must perform a successful throw escape with X+Y on their controller. If performed successfully, the bomb won't go off and that opponent will hand Alisa back her head and the achievement should unlock. This one may take two or three tries, but should you follow what I said here and watch as the head is given back to Alisa, the achievement should come on the screen.

Have fun and good luck!

Update: APassingShadow commented on my solution with advice of his own.

"You can get this in training mode by setting the mode to defensive training. Record move "spam bomb"(Up-right 1+2). Use 1+2 to break out"

Thanks for the tip!

Just for future reference, don't try to change the buttons on your controller to try and make this easier, because the achievement won't pop. I changed my inputs so X+Y mapped to LT, and the achievement didn't unlock until I literally did it with the X and Y buttons. Not that its much harder that way anyway! :)

Go into practice mode then into 'defensive training' 'CPU setting 1' 'command list' find the move spam bomb (it's 116 out of? 118) select it then press start then at the bottom it should say 'press select and O' at the bottom of the screen, then just counter it by pressing triangle and square.

You need to specifically break Alisa's Spam Bomb throw with +. See Escape Artist.
