How to unlock the Movie Buff achievement in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 - Definitive Guide

In order to lock the character endings you can take one of two courses. The first, which I don't suggest, is completing arcade using each character solo or selecting them first and then using a second character of your choice. This only gives you one ending even if you pick tag, and can be rather frustrating given the end boss.

The other method is that you can fight ghost battles which help you achieve the Tekken Lord rank quicker, all the while choosing the battles in which the rectangle is gold for a gold box which often contains endings. Personally I had a few more extra by the time I finished. If you do this and haven't collected enough endings by the time you achieve Tekken lord, I would suggest playing arcade unless the boss gives you a ton of trouble.

EDIT: As noth1ingness said in the comments below, it appears that you win the ending of the character you face during gold box battles. If you have already beaten them or have their ending it is best to focus on ranking up, though the boxes will still give you gold and / or items if you want them.

At that point, I'd unlocked 37 movies and during the loading screen between matches in ghost mode, the achievement popped. I quit to main menu and went to the gallery and all endings were unlocked.
Don't know why, don't know how.

So if I just play as one team and just win at those opponents with gold boxes, I should be able to get the achievement, right?

That is the suggested method as you can level them up while doing so. The opponent in the gold square is the ending you receive I believe.

got the achievement when I unlocked the 40th ending movie. there's 58 in whole, so it seems you don't need to have all the movies for the achievement to unlock.
My first thought was that you don't require the movies of the "double" characters (like eddy - christie, lee - violet etc), but it's not true. When the chievo unlocked, I was still missing the ending movies of Dr. B, Forest Law, Combot, Bob, Steve, Marshall Law, Miguel, Anna, Ling, Lili, Lars, Christie, Panda, DJ, Alex, Angel, Michelle and Violet. just fyi ;)

Didn't realise there was a comment about my comment. Just like to say you spelled my name wrong haha. And I'm not too sure as of now as it has been a few months. But I remember that when you vs someone with a gold box around their name you will get a secret ending. Can't say for sure if its the charactor that you are versing. But you will get one that you don't have

Another requirement for all endings is simply play 500 matches of any game type

For those who are struggling to get all endings in Tekken Tag Tournament 2, actually needn't jump through the obvious hoops to get all endings. Just know if you play TTT2 alot or regularly , you're most likely going to unlock all the endings no matter what you do.

Most people know you getting endings for the character you used , by completing story mode for that said character.

Another way you may have noticed to get endings is getting lucky on random Gold Lucky Boxes for defeating opponents on Ghost Battle when they appear on the choice list for the next battle.

But another 3rd way of getting all the endings , isn't actually very well known compared to the other two methods.( Since it's not specifically stated anywhere ) But many players who have played the game alot may have noticed all endings just seemed to unlock for no reason.

Many assume it might be a glitch but it's not.

You simply have to play 500/500+ matches of any game type and after that , all the endings will unlock regardless. So all you have to do is keep an eye on your fight record on your profile menu to see how close you're getting to it.

The best thing about this is that you don't have to specifically aim to get all those endings in arcade or ghost battle now. You're free to do whatever modes you want.

This is especially great if all you like to do is just to play multiplayer all day and don't spend much time on single player. It pretty much a method that doesn't punish players who only want to play multiplayer all day.

You can also concentrate on other goals too, without worrying about getting all the endings. Those who absorbed in getting all the achievements/trophies can just work towards getting the rank ghost battle trophies/achievements ( the most time consuming ones on the list ) and the 500 matches would most probably be accumlated by doing alot of ghost battle, on top of all the other matches you played offline/online.

This method is also great for those who are lower skilled and can't/don't want to learn other characters so therefore will have trouble unlocking their endings. Or those who are having trouble defeating quick battle opponents or those who are just can't stand repeating quick battle until gold lucky boxes appear.

So yeah 500 matches is all you need to unlock all the endings for all the characters. Play any game type you want, just relax and go at your own pace. My favourite would be to just play tons of online matches ... haha.

I am not actually 100% certain , but I came to this conclusion myself. All the endings seemed to unlock after I finished playing online match. After that I went back to the menu screen and saw my match count was around 500. So I thought that was the requirement. And I didn't do anything specific/ out of the ordinary around the time it did unlock.

If anyone else can confirm this method is correct , please reply below and say it does work.

So in the end maybe the best way to get this achievement is just keep playing the game alot. And you're going to do that if you're aiming to get the Tekken Lord rank achievement in Ghost Battle anyway or you like to play online/versus battles alot .

I can confirm this is definitely not the case. The achievement has not unlocked with my stats below:
Offline rank: 410 / 101

Ranked match: 12 / 6
Arcade battle: 148 / 36
Ghost battle: 323 / 73

¿Am I understanding this wrong?

I have 546 Ghost Battles played with the same character, but the endings have not unlocked. I think the requirements are a bit different, maybe it is 500 wins?

I reached a point where I was no longer getting endings for playing Ghost mode - only customisation items. After about 20 or so boxes with no luck I ended up playing Arcade to get 1 ending. When I went back to ghost mode the next 5 boxes all gave me endings.

Could be coincidence, but worth a try for anyone else who stops getting endings as rewards!

In Ghost Battles you can choose 1 out of 3 fights. If there is 1 fight with a gold background take it ! There is a chance that you will get a Video from one of the characters as reward. If you go for the 30th Dan anyway is this the best method. clap

You earn character ending movies in two ways: through completing arcade mode, which will unlock the ending movie of your first chosen character; or through defeating a golden ghost in Ghost Battle. You'll be able to tell a special ghost by their name glowing when you select them in the prior match.

You will most likely earn a significant number of ending movies in Ghost Battle while working toward Behold the Tekken Lord!, assuming you choose to fight the correct ghosts.

You have two options here. There are 59 characters in the game and 58 of them have movies (Why Tiger Jackson doesn't have a movie is a mystery). You can either play through Arcade Mode 40 times with different characters or you can do Ghost Battle which will also help you towards your Tekken Lord achievement.

While in Ghost Battle you will sometimes find the next opponents in a gold bar. A gold bar guarantees customization rewards should you beat these teams. The first time you beat whatever pair was in gold you will also get a random ending movie that you didn't have before. You can actually get this achievement while doing Ghost Battle mode while going for your Tekken Lord title.

In GHOST FIGHT mode (LOCAL MODE), after the battle, when choosing a new enemy, select the enemy in the light yellow frame.

Opponents in a light yellow frame can appear regardless of victories or defeats.
Personally, it took me 310 wins and 75 losses to unlock this achievement.
