Deerclops is a pre hardmode boss.
Natural Spawn: Snow biome at midnight during a blizzard
Summon Consumable: Deer Thing
Crafting Station: Demon Altar / Crimson Altar
Flinx Fur (3)
Lens
Demonite Ore (5) or Crimtane Ore (5)
You can farm Flinx Fur in ice Biome Cavern level from Snow Flix
You can farm Lens from Demon Eyes and Wandering Eyes
Ore you mine in the respective Biomes
Craft a Deer Thing and use it in a Snow biome any time of the day and then kill Deerclops and the achievement will pop.
Note: In helping some friends today we discovered in multiplayer you need to be the host of the game to get the Xbox Achievement to pop though the in game will pop in someone else's game.

Did anyone have an issue with this not unlocking? Just killed Deerclops in my own world and got the in game achievement, but not the Xbox achievement

If trying to spawn naturally in journey mode, I couldn't get him to spawn by simply setting the time to midnight and the rain to max in a snow biome (with frozen time and frozen rain).
What did work for me is:
- Set rain to max & freeze rain
- Set time to midnight (don't freeze time)
- Set time speed to max (x24)
In the first couple of cycles he spawns. Not sure if the wind needs to be set or what not, but he shows up eventually.

An easy way to find a Deerclops is to simply craft its summon item: Deer Thing
Go to a Demon/Crimson Altar with the following items:
Deerclops is a pre-hardmode mode. So having pre-hardmode gear or better is recommended, as well as at least 300 health.
Go to a Demon/Crimson Altar with the following items:
- 3 Flinx Fur: Obtained from Snow Flinxes, which can be found in the Ice biome in the Cavern layer.
- 5 Crimtane or Demonite Ore: Demonite ore is dropped by Eye of Cthulhu and Eater of Worlds in Corruption worlds, and by Eye of Cthulhu and Brain of Cthulhu in Crimson worlds.
- 5 Lens: Dropped by Demon Eyes and Wandering Eyes.
