How to unlock the Cockpit Addict achievement in Test Drive Unlimited 2 - Definitive Guide

Here is an easy way to get this achievement. You will need a wired controller or a plug and charge kit. This will ensure your controller does not turn off after 20-30 min. Find an open field. Its pretty easy to find one. Go to the southern region of the island and you will find plenty of open fields. Press RB (right bumper) to get into cockpit view. You know you are in cockpit view when you see the steering wheel and the interior of the car. Tape down the RT (Right Trigger) and put a rubber band on the Left Thumstick so your car goes in circles. Do this before you go to bed/school/work and by the time you get home/wake up all the achievements related to driving X amount of miles will be unlocked. Getting achievements while sleeping/working/studying FTW!!!

Much easier to use a rubber band and pull the battery from your controller. Put the rubber band around the left analog stick and wrap it around the left side/back of the controller. Place the lower side of the band under the battery compartment and the top under the Play and Charge kit while pulling the other side over the right trigger. You can make adjustments to the band by putting it higher on the trigger to make the car go slower (less throttle) or lower to go faster (more throttle). Depending on the car you use you may want to use little throttle (A class cars) or a lot (C class cars).

I just started the game using the cockpit view, and before I hit level 10 and travelled to hawaii it had already unlocked. Not too time consuming.

Use cockpit view while driving around and regularly through out championships. Best done on long roads on asphalt.

Find a nice long straight road to go back and forth while using the cockpit view. On Ibiza there is a long road going from your caravan towards the middle of the map, down to the casino. When you get to hawaii (Level 10) there is a nice stretch by the airport, use a fast car and go back and forth.

Some races that are difficult I recommend using 3rd person view specially around difficult turns and if you crash and/or spin around switch to 3rd person view to see whats going on.

You can also use the cockpit view through out the island lap (45 minutes) last race in Ibiza, which will gain about 100 kilometers.

I got the achievement with above methods at level 14 (Hawaii). I'm guessing Ive used 60% 3rd person view, 40% cockpit view overall.

Edit: Here's a easy way of gaining miles. video below, get a fast car and floor it.

i personally hated the cockpit view, found the windscreen obstructed the view too much, but i found a way round it,i waited until i had a car with no windscreen, for me it was the ariel atoms 300 and 500v8 though there are others(2 of the wrecks, cathersham to mention a couple),the cockpit view from these cars is just awesome, nothing to restrict the view,if like me you hate the cockpit view give it a try,i use cockpit view all the time in my atoms now, +1 for the genuine solution though

This is the only view I use......I don't understand why everyone thinks it's so hard. For me it makes the game so much more realistic. There are some cars in which your view is obstructed, but not anything that subtracts from gameplay.

Another grind while you are away, is one of the circles in Ibiza in the southern part of the island, has bulls in the center. If you ram the ledge you will flip over it, I landed on my hood and got reset inside the circle, the lip is too high up for the car I was driving to get back over, so it just keeps going round and round in a circle. My average speed is 32-33mph. In theory that means I'll have to leave it going for ten hours. I'd rather play honestly than grind since I had to start over, corrupted data... :/

Figured I would pass it along :)

The most easy way to do it while playing is to start driving straight from the start in cockpitview. Most likely the achievement will then unlock somewhere after you hit level 10. Because on those levels the races are still easy you will have no problem winning them and unlocking this achievement.

You can easily get this trophy while exploring roads in Ibiza. Simply press to change views until the cockpit is selected. The game will not track how long you have been in cockpit view but if you use one car starting from 0 mileage, then you can see how much progress you have made by looking at the dashboard.

Cockpit View is the in-car camera angle, like a helmet camera. It will not matter what car you're driving, nor if you're in free roam or in a race. It will count the total amount of miles you drive in all of these.

If you feel uncomfortable racing in this view, I'd suggest using it in the free roam mode so that you're not under any pressure and can drive at your own leisure.
