How to unlock the RANK SSS achievement in The King of Fighters XII - Definitive Guide

Rank SSS is achievemented by playing 1,400 games in Arcade or Ranked Mode. That's just playing, winning or losing doesn't matter.

Player Matches do not count towards this.

Boosting Solution / Turbo Controller Method:

  • The absolute best way to boost this is with two Xboxes and two Turbo Controllers. To set this up, have your secondary account go to Options / Button Config. Go down to RT and change "Unused" to "LP+LK"
  • Have your main account go to Online / Arcade Match / Create Room. Change Max Players to 2 and Round Time to 30, then Create. Invite the dummy account to your game
  • Have both accounts turbo down the A button. In addition to this, have the dummy account turbo down the RT
  • This creates a match where the dummy will constantly dash towards the main account, who will hit back with the turboed A button
  • After 30 seconds the round will end and the main account will get the win. Two more rounds will follow after this, same procedure and the match will end. This will get you progress towards the ranked wins achievements. With both accounts turboing the A button, it'll auto rematch
  • Let it run until you have the achievement. You'll want to periodically check to make sure both accounts stay connected to Xbox Live, it's not the best in 2023

You "simply" have to play 1400 online matches... You have to really want to complete this game!

UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

All these matches must be done in Arcade and Online. They will not count in Player mode. Win or lose, it doesn't matter, as long as you complete each match.

Some of the trophies for competing in online matches overlap so here's a chart of what unlocks after set numbers of battles:

Rank F = 1
Rookie = 10
Veteran = 30
Champ = 100
Rank E = 100
Rank D = 200
Master = 300
Rank C = 300
Rank B = 450
Rank A = 600
Rank S = 800
Rank SS = 1000
Rank SSS = 1400
